#599 - Sentinel Robot
"Clearly, those self-important folks have turned a deaf ear to my words."
Hyperion spoke unhurriedly, his steady voice reaching everyone's ears.
"I should have anticipated this. These selfish individuals only think of themselves. They only consider what their superpowers can bring them, without considering the feelings of others."
"In that case, I won't treat you people as ordinary civilians anymore." Hyperion's tone shifted, becoming stern.
"You will all be regarded as hidden criminals, and I will use swift and decisive measures to punish you!"
As soon as Hyperion finished speaking, the scene erupted in an uproar because Hyperion's words were far too presumptuous. He was, after all, a superhero whose law enforcement power had been revoked by the authorities, and he had no power to register other people's information.
It's just that this matter is beneficial to the general public, so all sectors turned a blind eye, choosing to make the superhumans suffer first.
But turning a blind eye doesn't mean becoming blind. For Hyperion to say such a thing, either the government gave him the relevant rights, or he ignored the government and unilaterally gave himself the rights.
Either way, both are big news.
Eddie Brock felt blessed by the goddess of fortune. This news was more explosive than anything any scientist could produce.
"Eat shit, you piece-of-shit leader." Eddie grinned, holding his recording equipment high, determined to keep his good position. "I'm about to step on your head."
"Since there are quite a few reporters here, I'll announce it directly." Hyperion whispered a few words into the earpiece on his right ear. The doors of the Supreme Squadron building behind him moved again.
Everyone's eyes turned to the entrance of the building once more, where a disheveled young man in a white coat walked out.
Clearly, this was a researcher. Just as the people present were guessing his identity, Hyperion took the initiative to announce his identity.
"I want to introduce, with great fanfare, Bruce Banner, a super genius with multiple degrees and an indispensable part of helping me complete this plan."
Hyperion landed gracefully beside Banner and continued, "With Bruce's help, we have finally achieved a great feat that will be recorded in history: superhuman location search!"
"What!"
"That's impossible!"
The scene erupted in discussion once again. The reporters present hurriedly took out their phones to contact their news agencies or television stations. This big news had to be broadcast as soon as possible.
Hyperion ignored the noisy crowd and continued to announce loudly, "With this technology, we can search for superhumans hiding in the crowd, and those superhuman criminals will no longer be able to escape our pursuit!"
As soon as Hyperion finished speaking, a distinct sound of air being torn apart came from the sky. Before the people present could look up, several figures descended directly from the sky, slamming heavily onto the ground.
"Thump!"
The scene was in turmoil, but it quickly subsided, simply because they saw clearly what those things that had landed were.
Familiar metal bodies, looking like Iron Man—Howard Stark's Iron Man armor. Could this matter be related to him?
"Let me introduce you to my other helper, Stark Industries." Hyperion gestured towards the iron figures. "These are all robots equipped with superhuman search functions. Their mission is to search for those superhumans and capture them."
Hyperion looked high-spirited, but only Banner, standing next to him, knew that these robot vigilantes were made in a rush.
The same appearance as Howard's armor, descending from the sky was not for the effect, but because these vigilantes were still on their way. The flashing metallic color meant that they had not even been painted, and even Stark Industries' logo was missing.
However, the order was given last night, and the finished product could be produced this morning. It is estimated that only Stark Industries in the world has this capability, but Howard guaranteed when shipping that these iron lumps were not just for show.
"It seems many people here don't believe it." Hyperion smiled as he looked at the noisy crowd. "Then let me show you their power. Sentry Robots!"
"Buzz!"
Hearing Hyperion call their names, the eyes of all the robots lit up with green light, and the roar representing the operation of the machines sounded at the same time.
"Find the superhumans hiding in the crowd!"
"Swish."
The eyes of the five sentry robots shot out a green light, scanning the crowd. Some people tried to avoid these unsettling green lights, but obviously, their speed could not match the speed of the robot's scan.
"Ding ding ding!"
Suddenly, the green light in the eyes of one sentry robot turned red. The red light locked onto a teenager hiding in the crowd. The teenager showed obvious panic as he watched the people around him dodge.
"Ding ding ding!"
After that sentry robot locked onto the target, all the sentry robots gave up scanning and faced the teenager together. Even an adult would panic when faced with five red lights locked onto him, let alone a teenager.
The teenager chose the worst way to handle it. He pushed through the crowd and turned to flee. The strong crowd couldn't stop him.
"It looks like the criminal has been found." Hyperion said coldly. "Now, capture that criminal!"
As soon as Hyperion finished speaking, all the sentry robots took off into the air. The thrusters spewed out hot flames, and the five robots caught up with the fleeing teenager in the blink of an eye.
"Stay away from me!" the teenager shouted, throwing something like flames from his hand, trying to repel the aerial sentry robots, but obviously, it was in vain.
The hot flames hit the armor of the sentry robots, only exploding into countless sparks, not even leaving a scorch mark. The teenager was shocked and no longer focused on attacking, but began to focus on running away.
But how can two legs run faster than a robot flying in the sky? In the blink of an eye, five robots formed a siege, surrounding the teenager.
"Fugitive superhuman, you are under arrest."
A emotionless machine voice sounded, complementing the sentry robot's steel face.
"Resistance is useless, surrender, or we will take coercive measures."
"Don't touch me! You tin cans!" The teenager was obviously terrified, throwing flames from his hand recklessly.
"Encountered resistance! Implement capture!"
