The Curse Of The Evil Queen

The dress was the best I have seen in my entire life. Surprisingly, it is not itchy on the skin. It is not like other feathers that are thick in shape, this one is evenly spaced and does stick together creating a smooth fabric.

"I'm glad you like it" Her words were sincere. 

Smiling at her was the least that I could do as my eyes were only focused on the dress in front of me. Nude high heels were placed on the side which will act as the pair of the gown later on.

Walking past the hallways, were such amusing. With the walls painted in such colorful paints. We went directly to the main hall where high-ranking officials and different people who are not familiar with me.

They were all wearing fancy gowns and nice suits. In the front lies a chair made out of wood branches, that is placed altogether. Different kinds of freshly picked flowers were designed as well as green leaves. 

A red carpet was placed in the middle, with light blue suites man is on each side, guarding the path. Servants on the pink dress we're roaming around the hall, taking care of their important guests.

I smiled as I saw my friends enjoying the night. It shocked me when they announced that it's Adeline's birthday as well. Her midnight blue dress was now flowing flawlessly as she sits steadily on her throne.

Madam Christine Salonga and Sir Raymond were sitting on the back. The guests are now eating quietly. Some of them were talking with each other, while some were quietly watching. We are sitting in the middle, together with Lianno's family. 

It is kind of awkward as we were eating silently without anyone opening their mouth to say something. The food was all healthy, with vegetables as the main ingredient in every dish that is served. 

Stuffed baked potatoes, Baked mushroom in vegetable casserole as well as some chicken and potatoes in white sauce. The round table has 12 seats, but only 9 were occupied by us. Taking a bite of the baked potatoes sends butterflies in my stomach. Tasting the soft yet strong taste of the cheese.

Continuously staring at Lianno's direction every time is what I'm doing to ease the boredom starting to form on my head. I instantly looked away, pretending to eat when I saw him glancing at my place.

It's hard to swallow and digest the food I'm chewing as I felt Lianno staring at my spot. Look how's the table has turned, earlier I was the one who is glancing earlier, but now he's the one doing it.

Time passes so fast that we are now listening to Madam Christine's speech after dinner. This will be followed by Adeline's birthday celebration as I can recall from what I heard earlier. 

"Today, you witnessed the passing of the authorization to my lovely daughter, Adeline.  Sweetheart. I know that with years of training and educating her, she will be a better President that will lead the company to the right path." She smiled and took a glance at Adeline who is now smiling widely with her teary eyes.

"Me and my husband will continue to guide her with this journey. Wishing that with her knowledge and her own wisdom, the kingdom will regain its glory. Happy birthday, my dear daughter." Madam Christine smiled at us as she lowered the microphone placed in her hands.

Sir Raymond took a step forward and said his message as well as her happy birthday to Mary. Seeing this sight and after hearing those messages from Madam Christine and Sir Raymond, my eyes pooled with tears.

Bitterness with a hint of jealousy lingered in my mind. Adeline has those things I wished for while growing up. I can't help myself to compare our status in life. A royalty vs. A nobody? Who would dare choose me in this world, right?

I can't help but understand why my family always prioritizes their work over me. If you have the money as well as fame, everyone will choose you. No one would even contest you. I'm not saying that it is a bad thing to look at, but rather a sight anyone would dream of.

With her hands on her face, Adeline wiped off the tears streaming down her face. Saying her thank you and appreciation for her family. The speaker, wearing a maroon suit played a slow song after.

The man called Lianno on stage. Seeing him walking over there without any hesitations left a pang of pain in my heart. He smoothly guides Adeline on standing up, linking her arms on Lianno's.

Looking away is the last thing I could do, as I saw Adeline's wide smile remain on her lips while looking at Lianno. They both went down to the platform, going on the right side, where Adeline's Extended family is sitting on. 

Madam Carolina and Sir Lucian stood up on their seats and went away to socialize with the guests as well. Leaving me, on the table without anything to do. I roamed my eyes in the hall until I noticed that Jacob slowly standing up on his seat when he saw some people on the other table, leaving the three of us here alone.

"What should we do now?" I asked them, feeling bored a little bit while shifting my attention away from him.

"Ahm…" Luna answered me, hesitation can be heard in her voice, her eyes moved in Guiniverre's direction asking for help.

"Celestina, nature is calling Luna right now" Guiniverre whispered in my ear, making my eyes wide open.

"Go now," I stated, trying my best not to laugh at their statement. 

"Are you sure, you're okay alone here?" Isabela asks me, her voice was low because of the thing she's holding in right now.

"Yes, go now" I answered back.

With my words, Luna nodded at Guineverre. Luna hurriedly stood up from her seat and almost run away just to go to the bathroom, followed by Luna who is now trying her best not to laugh at her friend's misery. I laughed silently, wishing Luna a good session in the bathroom.

But my smile quickly fades the moment I saw two people dancing slowly in the middle with the gentle music. They quickly caught my attention, even if they were surrounded by people who are dancing as well. 

My eyes shifted when I felt a presence on my right side. My brows furrowed seeing a man with a black formal suit sitting on the chair, looking in their direction as well.

"Ahm… who are you?" I asked him hesitantly. 

"No one," He answered, smiling, but there is something in his eyes that wonders me. 

"Okay…" In a low voice, I answered. 

Shifting my eyes in another direction was the first one that crossed my mind when I felt my chest tightening up a little bit. Trying my best to ignore the thoughts forming in my head.

"It hurts right?" The guy suddenly asked me, while his eyes remained on the two people dancing in the middle.

"Huh?" Confused by his words, I turned in his direction. 

"Nothing," he shakes his head.

I got weirded out by his words. He is kinda weird to me actually. I ignored him and look at where Guiniverre and Luna went earlier. What is taking them longer? I pouted, placing my head on top of my arms that is sitting on the table.

I saw the man silently standing up and looking in their direction one more time before sighing loudly and turning his head. He looks dismayed while walking away, and I got curious as to why is he acting that way.

My throat suddenly went dry seeing Adeline and Lianno still in the middle. She is giggling happily while Lianno has a soft smile plastered on his lips. I grab the glass of water on the table. But it doesn't make me feel any better.

A server went to our side with a tray in his hand filled with a red-colored bloody wine. I sighed, I'm not planning to drink any alcoholic beverages tonight, but without this, I don't know what will happen to me.

I signaled the server to come near me, and so he did. He places the last cup on my table before leaving the hall. Without thinking I took a big gulp of the wine, finishing it off in just one sip. 

I sighed in relief when it cured the dryness in my throat. But minutes have passed when my head starts to spin as the sight that I'm seeing became blurred. I stood up from my chair even if it's a hard thing to do. 

Planning to go to the bathroom as I thought that it would help me to sober up thinking that the wine has a high alcohol content that's why I'm feeling this way. But in just a few steps away from my place earlier.. My breathing became hitched as I felt my whole surroundings moving.
