The Devil's Bride: War Of Endless Love

At the Royal Palace,

The Crown Prince Adrian had just entered the palace in the afternoon when he was summoned by his father.

A guard came to him and bowed his head politely. 

"My Lord, Crown Prince, His Highness, The King wants to see you and he is waiting for you in the study"

He said and quickly ran away.

No one was allowed to look at him directly. Several men and servants were killed just because they had seen his face. So no one ever dared to look at him.

No one has ever seen his face clearly.

"Hm"

He said and left.

He had never talked more than 2 words to them. The rumours were that he was really very ugly and a beast who just butcher humans whenever he wanted. He hated women to the core that he had never touched them.

He ignored them and went away on his own way.

He took off his mask before entering the study room.

"Knock"

"Knock"

He knocked twice and entered the room.

King Ludwig was sitting on the throne- like chair and was looking into the files.

"I heard my father had summoned me for something…"

He said while bowing his head politely. 

"I called you here to talk to you about something very important"

He said and offered the seat to him.

"Thank You Father…"

He said and sat down obediently.

"You know, I have already decided to take over the country as the King..?"

King Ludwing asked while looking into his eyes.

"I am a well informed father.."

He answered. 

"Then you must have known that there will be no democracy in the future and the Royal's have to take over everything once for all"

King Ludwig asked and Adrian said "You can come to the point father… I am all ready to oblige your orders as the crown prince and ready to share your burden as the King when you are tired enough."

Adrian knew it was not that simple. He was not called here just to discuss democracy and monarchy. There was more to it but he wanted to wait patiently and see what his father had to say.

"Adrian, you are the crown prince of the country. As soon as I demolish the democracy here, you have to take the responsibility and within a month or two all things are going to be changed."

King Ludwig stood up from his throne- like couch and walked forward to the window. 

"You were my heir till now but since democracy was ruling the country, even in name, you had not much to do but now… I want you to get married within two months…"

This time Ludwig didn't beat around the bush and said straightforwardly

"Father..!!" He stood up too and was in shock.

He knew his father would never ask him to do what he never wanted to do but still it was too sudden for him.

"It's not like I'm happy forcing you into a marriage but still it's important for our family."

Ludwig knew his son had his own problems to take care of.

Even though Adrian had hid the fact that why he used to lock himself on every 15th and the last day of the month but as the King and as a Father, Ludwig was well aware of it.

After all Adrian was not a simple kid. He had his own difficulties.

"I'm so sorry to force you but I don't have a way"

He hung his head down and said.

"Father.." He kneeled on one of his knees and said "I know His Highness must be going under a lot of pressure but I'm still not ready for all these things "

"I know… But you still have to oblige. There is no way that you can run away from it."

Ludwig said in a firm voice and continued

"You were betrothed to the princess of Costaguana, Princess Aurora but due to some incidents she went missing and later one of my confidant died while saving your life and I made my promise that I would let his daughter marry my only son and make her the Queen of the Avalon."

He stated firmly as if there was no way to negotiate at all..

"Father…!!" Adrian was speechless and did not know what to say..

'You always said that you would never force me but in the end you have already made arrangements without my consultant… If so then what's the use of asking me?' 

He looked at his father with mixed feelings. He had a lot to say but all he could do was suppress all his feelings and obliged him like an obedient son.

And why would he not do it? He was the future King of the country. He had to serve his nation before thinking about himself. There was no way he would back down like that, just because of his personal matters and feelings.

Since when has the King of any monarch had the right to choose their personal lives?

He was no exception at all.

"I will do as you say Father… I may not be able to attend my wedding…"

He said and stood up while still in the posture of a gentlemanly King. 

"That's up to you but before that you have to coax the girl into marrying you…"

Ludwig did not look back at him because he knew he had asked too much of him in a single night. 

It was already enough for him to get ready for the marriage but coaxing the girl into marrying him was out of the question.

"Dad…!!" Finally Adrian gave up all the courtesy towards him as a King and called him 'Dad' like a normal son would call his father...

"Do you have something to say?" Still he did not look at him but turned his head a little to understand his moves.

'I'm Sorry but I need to do this for the country and for my promise and for…'

He thought to himself and apologized to him.
