The Devil's Curse

Chapter 3:Blade

"…so much pain…innocent…found guilty…cut…killed…30 days…30 days I've suffered…you descendants…WILL PAY… suffer what I've felt…for 30 days…each day…more pain…DIE!", a man's voice groaned. "See…what I HAVE SUFFERED!"

Every day was a lifeless day, until I met her, Isabella. She was indescribably beautiful. She was everything good…but he, he… that motherfucker Jeffery. He loved her, too. He always knew that she liked me.

I saw him kill. A boy called Liam. A girl called Emma. He slit Emma's throat. He dismembered her. Everything. Liam was stabbed over and over. Jeffery ripped out all his organs and place it right next to him. It was mortifying. It took me all my willpower to not scream. He turned around and HE SAW ME.

"Awww…you're here too. Let's PLAY!" He laughed.

I turned around and ran. It was the fastest I ever ran. When I returned home, I couldn't sleep. The gruesome death of the children was stuck in my mind. The sun started rising and I got up. I kept it secret and didn't let anyone know. What happens if he came for me next? But I can't let him get away with murder. I chose the safer option for me. I know. I am a coward. A brainless idiot who can't even stand up to someone. If I could change time, I would choose the other option. Jeffrey told everyone in the village that I killed the two children.

I protested and cried, "I swear it wasn't me. Please! Believe me."

"Reaallyy," Jeffrey smirked subtly. In a voice that was very fake, he exclaimed, "I-I saw it with my own eyes. H-he stabbed them and everything. It was horrible. I still have nightmares about it!"

I begged and protested. Nobody believed me. I watched while my beloved took their side. I couldn't believe it. I guess my words were worthless, so much that nobody was on my side. They all chanted, "Down with the demon! Rid the damned!"

The elder ordered,"Torture him! Then burn him at the cross!"

The priest yelled,"If he really is innocent, God will save him!"

I was starved, shackled, and tortured for a month. The pain consumed me. Not one second of mercy. The pain was too much.

"Why, why, did they betray me! Why did they believe him!" I whispered as I cried myself to sleep.

"Let me go! I'm innocent!" I screamed as I was dragged onto the wooden cross. The villagers placed firewood around me and lit it. I burned there for 3 days straight. The villagers threw stones at me. I screamed in agony until I lost my voice.

"Why do I have to suffer all this? All I wanted was to marry the one I loved and live a good life. I never killed. I'm innocent. Nobody is going to save me. God isn't real. He isn't real. There is no God. All of you, all of you, ALL OF YOU, DIE!" Those were my last words before the fire consumed me. Death finally welcomed me. I was so relieved, so relieved that I am free from the pain, but I wasn't relieved of one thing. My emotions. I felt hurt, angry, hate.

I WANTED REVENGE.

My hatred was so strong, my ashes started to float, and morph into a human-like shape. I have received a new body. A demon's body. The same as I looked before, but this time stronger, more vengeful. I strolled back to the village. I looked around and saw that Jeffrey was getting married to Isabella. Bitterly, I started to laugh.

"Well, well, well," I spoke.

The villagers turned around and murmured, "H-how is he still alive!?

"What, b-but how!? You're supposed to be dead," Jeffrey cried.

"Dead? Well, I suppose so. I guess God gave me a second chance. Considering that I wasn't even the one who murdered the CHILDREN!" I yelled.

"What, what?", Isabella stuttered. "I-if it wasn't you, th-then who was it?"

"Dear, ask the person right next to you." I smirked.

"W-what are you talking about! I have no idea what you're saying," Jeffery stuttered.

"Oh, really?" I laughed. "I watched you kill those children as you laughed. I watched you spill their guts." I laughed.

"What!" Isabella exclaimed horrifically. She stepped back from Jeffery with a look of horror.

"That's not true!" Jeffrey cried.

"Reaallyy," I mimicked. "I-I saw it with my own eyes. He stabbed them. It was horrible. I still have nightmares about it." I laughed. " You ripped out their organs, sliced them up and stabbed them so that no one can even tell who they were."

"Don't believe him!" Jeffrey cried. "He's lying!"

"How could I be telling a lie? I survived. If it isn't God's will, then what could it be? Besides God revived me to tell you the truth. If I was innocent, then God would definitely save me right? That was what the priest said. If you are innocent, then go through the same thing! God will save you, right?" I smirked.
