The Emperor’s Angel of Death
#2328 - A short absence makes a new marriage better
"Shouldn't the Emperor be a perfect being? Shouldn't such a person be able to completely control their own consciousness and thoughts?"
Talos merely shrugged in response to Sosiant's question.
"Who knows? I'm just talking casually. You don't have to think too much about it. The Master of Mankind has always only cared about his own plans. No one can change what He wants to do. If there's a good show, we'll just watch it. As for whether or not to take the stage, it's not up to Him to decide."
Sosiant could hear Talos's subtext, but he didn't want to discuss the matter now, so he turned to the subject of the Star Gods.
"The Void Dragon told me that there is a complete, imprisoned Star God on the edge of the Storm Nebula. Do you think I should go looking for it? When would be a good time?"
"Such ancient things, you're really putting me on the spot. However, I don't think this matter can be rushed. I don't know what a complete Star God is like, but I know the power of the Star God shards. The shards are already so powerful, a complete one might require all of us to be thrown in to suppress it. First, send a trusted exploration team to investigate and determine the specific location. I don't think you can use the Chapter's strength, after all, you'd be heartbroken if there were too many losses. You'll have to use the Eldar's power. After all, they understand the Star Gods better and probably have ways to deal with them."
Sosiant nodded.
"Then do you think Varied Musings's idea of using the Hope to rescue Isha from Nurgle's Garden is credible? Is it feasible?"
"Tsk, no matter how powerful a ship is, it's still too much of a boast to compete with a god. That's real destructive power, not the half-dead thing you encountered in the derelict ship. I estimate that these Abominable Intelligences are either overly arrogant or lying to you. But if it can sneak into the Warp and enter the realm of a Chaos God, there might be room for maneuver. However, it's still too difficult. Maybe Nurgle will know what you're up to before the Hope even gets to you. I don't think you should have too much hope for this. The focus should still be on the Eldar, after all, this is about rescuing one god from another. It's crazy to even think about it."
"Indeed, Talos, do you think there is hope for this with the power of the Eldar?"
Talos shook his head.
"There is little hope with this shattered race, unless they can be united. But even so, it's still very, very difficult. This is not a power that mortals can understand. If you want my opinion, it's almost impossible without the help of the one on the Throne. No matter how much power you have, after all, the Star Gods may not be of much use in the Warp."
"Do you think He will help me?"
"From the fact that He showed you the Phoenix Tears, He should know about the Eldar matters on you. This seems to indicate His attitude, but it's hard to say. Perhaps this could just be a deception. The Master of Mankind has tried to create a galaxy where only humans survive in the past. Would He really help an alien god rise again? I think that's questionable. So when you implement the plan, you must be prepared. This is not to say you're betraying anyone, but if there really is a force interfering at a critical moment, you must at least have a response plan so that you don't fail. In any case, Sosiant, you must remember one thing, remember what the goal is, what the consequences will be, who will benefit, and who will suffer, who might be the enemy, who might be the friend, calculate all of this clearly, and the rest is a matter of steps."
After listening to Talos, Sosiant fell into deep thought. After a few minutes, he slowly nodded and said softly:
"Thank you for your reminder, brother. It seems that I was thinking too simply before, but I always feel like I've also fallen into Asuryan's trap. It seems that everything requires me to unite the Eldar, to bring these shattered people back under one banner. But the Imperium will not sit idly by. The Court is weak now and can hide, but if it really becomes strong, the Ordo Xenos and the Deathwatch will not be blind. How should I handle myself then?"
"Are you worried about an old god who has been dead for who knows how long? If a god can plan for tens of thousands of years after its fall, then how could it have fallen? Doesn't that sound contradictory?"
"That's why I want to find out what exactly happened to Asuryan."
Saying that, Sosiant scratched his head in distress.
"Forget it, too much thinking is useless, let's take it one step at a time."
"I see you've been tired all day, you should go back and rest."
Talos suddenly said this, and Sosiant didn't react for a moment, but after noticing Talos's smile, he finally understood what the other party meant, so he also smiled and stood up.
"Okay, then I'll go back first."
Leaving the office, Sosiant, wearing casual clothes, returned to his long-lost bedroom.
Everything here was almost unchanged from when he left, and it was still kept clean and tidy. Sosiant took off his robe without showing any emotion, revealing his strong body, then sat on the edge of the bed, seemingly about to fall asleep.
Suddenly, a pair of jade-white hands covered his eyes from behind.
"Guess——"
The childish little game ended before it even started. Sosiant gently pulled the other party in front of him, then kissed Veronica's lips, and Veronica in his arms also embraced his neck.
A few minutes later, the two separated, and Veronica looked at Sosiant with tears in her eyes, gently stroking his face, speechless and choked with sobs.
Veronica did not maintain her human disguise, but this did not affect her charm in the slightest. Under a thin, semi-transparent, slit nightgown was a large expanse of snow-white and delicate skin, outlining a graceful curve from her neck to her collarbone, like the most magnificent work of art in the night. A head of naturally flowing hair slightly covered her beautiful face. Perhaps because of the heat from Sosiant's bare chest, a faint blush rose from the snow-white skin on her fragrant shoulders. Her slender, snow-white, rounded legs were exposed between the nightgown, elegantly bent on Sosiant's legs, so full and tender.
Sosiant then said softly:
"Madam, I miss you so much."
"Me too."
The two hugged each other, silently enjoying each other's love.
Not long after, Veronica suddenly groaned, tilting her head back and whimpering:
"Mmm... it tickles."
Sosiant's burning lips slid between her elegant neck and collarbone, and his hands restlessly reached into her thin silk robe, groping on her satin-like skin, causing her breathing to become rapid and hot.
Finally, Sosiant simply tore off the light robe and threw it aside, and Veronica also put her hands on his chest and gently pushed him onto the bed.
But suddenly, Sosiant grabbed her shoulders.
"Ah, I almost forgot, you're still——"
"Don't worry, it's still early~"
