Chapter 3101: The Crimson King

After entering the Titan, the two did not encounter any demons. Their only trouble was moving around, as the passages were designed for mortals and were somewhat narrow, forcing Sosiarch and Amnak to proceed one after the other.

Although unfamiliar with the interior of the machine, Sosiarch quickly located the cockpit by following his psychic senses and the signs in the passages.

Boom—

With a loud crash, the heavy blast door was kicked open directly, but it halted in mid-air before gently falling to the ground, overturning with a resounding boom.

The once-pristine cockpit was now a complete mess. The remains of servitors were twisted and piled against the walls. The emergency doors on both sides, meant for the soulless, were open. One of them had his upper body slumped in the doorway, while his lower body remained inside, clearly crushed to death when the door closed. The other was in even worse shape, his stomach pierced through by a servitor's arm. He lay on his back, eyes wide open.

"Who has a death wish, looking for trouble in front of me?"

Sosiarch stepped into the cockpit, his voice filled with anger, his eyes fixed on the throne facing away from him. He could vaguely see a figure with its hands and feet restrained.

"How long have you been wearing this skin?"

Amnak then leisurely walked in.

"I was wondering where Zhao-Arcadia found such a powerful and stable psychic. Sure enough, it's your trap, or rather, a mouthpiece. He must be a special agent cultivated by the Sorcerer World, fitting your usual style, Crimson King."

"Haha, the King of Armies, once renowned in the Eternal Arena, now willingly serves as a mortal's slave... It seems you haven't woken up from your dream of godhood."

A voice, initially gloomy but gradually turning sonorous, came from the throne.

Subsequently, the restraints opened one by one, and the gaunt figure slowly floated up, the tubes connected to it sliding off one by one.

When he turned around, revealing a face that was almost skin and bones but with eyes still burning with eerie blue flames, Sosiarch narrowed his eyes.

From Amnak's conversation with this being, Sosiarch had already guessed who it was.

"Magnus, instead of fiddling with those boring witchcrafts in your kennel, are you here to ask for trouble?"

The thing's smile widened, but it looked particularly twisted and sinister on that skeletal face.

"Why so hostile? Sosiarch, and my brother, have I caused you any trouble? On the contrary, I have helped you many times, only you don't know it."

"Oh? Then I should thank you?"

The thing's laughter turned into a rumbling sound in its throat.

"Sosiarch, your understanding of the world is still too superficial to comprehend the entirety of fate, and everything I bring."

Suddenly, the skin on the Titan pilot's face began to melt, dripping from his bones and forming bloody muscles and scarlet tendons.

Then, a ball of psychic light enveloped its form, and after a few seconds, with a gurgling, bursting sound, smooth horns extended from the ball of light.

"I am not your enemy."

The next moment, the light transformed into countless fragments, revealing a set of brass-colored armor inlaid with runes and many magical ornaments, and crimson skin. Ivory horns were strangely placed on its chest and grew from its forehead. Long hair floated in the wind like fiery waves, and the starlight of psychic energy could be seen floating within. Beneath the golden crown was a broad face with the scholarly calmness of a scholar, but its right eye seemed to have been taken from its socket, and its left eye sparkled like a star. A pair of huge wings filled with magical runes grew from its back.

"I am your friend, someone you can cooperate with."

Landing steadily, Magnus, the Crimson King, one of the former Imperial Primarchs, the master of the Fifteenth Legion, and one of the culprits deemed responsible for the Great Betrayal, looked at Sosiarch.

Suddenly, his body flickered, and the Crimson King frowned slightly, clutching his chest and whispering:

"Looks like I can't maintain it for much longer..."

Then he raised his head and said to Sosiarch at eye level:

"Sosiarch, do you want to break free from the fate of being manipulated by others?"

Sosiarch slightly tightened the grip on Skyfire, narrowed his eyes, and then sneered.

"Magnus, do you think you are not being manipulated now?"

Magnus did not show any signs of anger, but calmly replied:

"I do not deny that."

"Then, who is speaking to me now, Magnus, or a Tzeentchian Daemon Prince?"

Magnus chuckled twice.

"No need to flaunt your power in front of me. I know you are arrogant enough to not take the Ruinous Powers seriously, but I must remind you, that is not your power either. You are just a puppet."

"Enough with the idle talk, get to the point. What exactly do you want?"

"A deal."

"A deal?"

"You are after the imprisoned Eldar goddess of life, aren't you? But I must regretfully tell you that the Lord of Decay is already wary. All the means you can think of will fail, but there is a power that can help you, and only with its intervention will you have a chance to complete this impossible task."

"So?"

"My brother."

"Your brother?"

Sosiarch laughed, glanced at Amnak, who also laughed.

"Your brother? Magnus, do you think you still have brothers?"

Magnus put his hands behind his back and said frankly:

"No matter how you see me, this is my decision. Exchange the goddess of life for my brother, and you can also get rid of the fate you don't want to bear. No one will be harmed."

"And then? Let Xerxes become another toy of Tzeentch?"

"Believe me, this is by no means the worst outcome."

Sosiarch raised Skyfire and pointed it at Magnus.

"Cut the crap, you idiot. Put away that righteous, stinky face. That look of thinking you're making a big sacrifice makes me sick. Do I need to recount the stupid things you've done in the Webway? You're lucky I'm standing in front of you now. If Xerxes was here, you'd be on the ground already. Are you done talking?"

Magnus's face darkened.

"Sosiarch, don't let that false power blind you. It may seem omnipotent now, but you can be erased at any time. I think you should be very clear about that."

"If that day really comes, I'll kill you all like dogs first, eat you clean, and rid the world of some scourges. Do you believe me?"

"You will pay for this insult!"

Magnus was finally enraged. The rational expression slipped from his crimson face, and his form instantly burst into dazzling light. Then, crimson flames leaped from the palms of his hands, gathering into countless flickering blades, as if an angry will had become an entity.

The next second, a storm of blades swept over, overwhelming and devastating.
