The Alpha members of the Adeptus Ministorum quickly gathered around the attached priest, while the surrounding Adeptus Ministorum reorganized their battle lines with staggering steps. Many were severely damaged or had lost limbs. In the battlefield, some servitors, having gone out of control due to the deaths of their accompanying priests, continued to fight, using a beast-like combat style to fiercely block the advancing Orks.
"The situation is… unfavorable."
A slightly gloomy voice came. Carlris knew it was Data-Priest Moksan. He now only had the remaining 8 Kastelan Robots by his side; the others had become sparking wreckage scattered across the battlefield.
"Andes Sage, are there any new directives?"
Carlris shook his head, the blue mechanical eye emitting a dim, disappointed glow.
"Hold the line. Only that directive."
"Hold the line…"
Moksan shook his head, said nothing more, and instead retrieved a memory crystal from his sleeve. He then summoned a servo-skull, inserted the crystal into the slot at the skull's mouth, and sent it flying away.
This was to preserve his data, equivalent to a human soldier writing a last will. It was the only way these frontline priests could leave their mark, hoping that one day a Dominus might learn something from their combat experience.
Or perhaps they would simply sink into the sea of data, fading into oblivion…

With a flash of light, a volley of beams tore through the air. The special bullets fired from the arc rifles pierced the bodies of the Orks in the front row, shattering their ribs and creating an electromagnetic explosion within them.
This power, enough to instantly kill a mortal, did not immediately kill the resilient Orks. After being hit, their steps began to falter, and only after a few seconds did they fall in rows.
Then came a rapid whistling sound, and the Orks further away were torn apart, their flesh and blood flying.
Although the Orks had charged to a distance where they could pose a deadly threat, they had no chance to taste the blood of their enemies. All they received was the answer from the Kastelan Robots' heavy bolters.
Soon, the second volley followed, and the overwhelming barrage covered the Ork horde. More Orks fell in gruesome deaths. The entire battle line was filled with red mist of blood, but the Orks, driven by their desire for slaughter, did not feel the fear of death.
More, there were always more Orks charging over the corpses of their fallen comrades, roaring and firing aimlessly.
Even with inaccurate shooting, such numbers still created a storm. Adeptus Ministorum were constantly hit, their robes torn, their armor shattered, their remaining flesh torn apart—the Orks' weapons were crude, but their power should not be underestimated. Even a reinforced Adeptus Ministorum soldier would almost certainly die if hit in the torso.
Death could not shake the guardians of the Omnissiah, but their numbers were increasingly difficult to stem the green tide.
<Purge all for the Omnissiah!>
In a hoarse prayer of destruction, Carlris sent out the last of his reserves.
The Vanguard, clad in black armor, strode out from both sides of the battle line. Their outer garments bore various stripes, and their helmets were engraved with striking markings, indicating their squad rankings. Where they walked, the purifying fire of the Omnissiah burned, like an intangible cloak bestowed by the Omnissiah.
When they raised their lascarbines, even the surrounding air hummed. The Orks at the front exploded or dissolved in the terrible energy emitted—the lascarbines could fire ultra-high-speed projectiles with extremely high radiation intensity at an extremely high rate of fire. As these projectiles passed through the air, the high-speed friction and the extreme radiation combined to create large areas of secondary ionizing radiation, resulting in a deadly environment. If the density and rate of fire were sufficient, they would even create a terrifying ionizing radiation storm in the local air. All of this meant that their weapons could inflict enough damage on almost any enemy. Even if the enemy blocked the deadly las-storm, they would still succumb to the deadly environment created by the trajectory of these weapons.
Faced with high-intensity radiation, even the most tenacious fungus would wither. These were the deadliest radiation infantry, bringing painful blessings, exchanging the decay of their own flesh for the destruction of the enemy. But for them, only power was enough.
Because they were the purifying hand of the Omnissiah, the embodiment of physical destruction.
As Carlris was immersed in the Vanguard's sensory link, his warning devices flashed again.
<Identification: Ork Trukks>
<Threat Level: Unknown>
In the billowing black smoke, a series of Ork vehicles that looked like they were twitching, their designs an insult to mechanics, roared in from the right flank. Some used tracks, some used wheels, and some used both. None were alike, yet they all possessed a striking similarity—they were all loaded with screaming Orks and various haphazardly stuffed weapons.
Trukks were the Mechanicus' collective term for the Orks' series of vehicles. It seemed that in the Ork language (if they had one), 'dirty' and 'stolen' meant the same thing. In other words, these cobbled-together vehicles were essentially stolen, assembled from various stolen materials.
Even when they were driving at high speed, they gave the impression that they would fall apart at any moment. In principle, they should have no combat effectiveness at all, but like everything about the Orks, they defied reason and could not be estimated.
Amidst the Orks' crude roars, rows of red rockets screamed out from the trukks. Some even had screaming gretchin riding on them. These rockets then crashed around the Adeptus Ministorum line. Due to accuracy issues, most missed, but the explosions still blew away hundreds of soldiers. A few, however, luckily or unluckily landed in the midst of the Adeptus Ministorum ranks, instantly tearing several large gaps in the line—of course, some also flew into the charging Ork ranks, as their weapons were prone to harming their own.
To resist these surging Ork vehicles, the remaining four Dunecrawler and Ironstrider Ballistarius went to resist. They destroyed several trukks but were soon engulfed in the overwhelming firepower.
At this point, Carlris realized they were finished.
However, the Dominus' order to hold the line remained unchanged.
"For your wrath, I shall kill or die for you."
The attached priest used his last prayer as the final chapter of his service to the Omnissiah, then raised his weapon and began to shoot calmly, while the rumbling trukks were already close at hand.
On the largest trukk stood an Ork boss, taller than the surrounding Ork Boyz, his powerful, gnarled muscles hidden beneath dull, heavy metal armor. His exposed skin bore various scrapes and burns. His huge hands violently wielded a nearly meter-long chainsword.
He fired a shot, hitting the Ork boss in the chest, but…
It was useless. It didn't penetrate, only reddened the metal.
WAAAAGH!!!!
The Ork boss roared, his evil, dim yellow eyes seeming to stare intently at the attached priest who had shot him, the desire for violence and slaughter almost bursting from his eye sockets, seeming eager to crush him under the wheels.
The next second, the trukk exploded!
