The Fallen Consort

"The truth is, I made that bow for Jin Meiling." Mu Xin sighed. To help Yi Ling bring the best out the bow, she needed to learn its past.

Yi Ling stared at Mu Xin. It was Jin Meiling's? Mu Xin made the bow for her? Somehow a slight pain stabbed on Yi Ling's heart. How come everyone loves her? King Jin and Mu Xin was fighting for her love when she was still alive. What if I said that she recently talked to me? Would they get worried or be curious of her?

Meiling told me to take care of her lover and her son. I thought that it was Mu Xin and Minzhe. When I met with King Jin, I could feel the resentment from her. Yet Mu Xin said that Minzhe was King Jin's son. What's going on exactly?

Seeing Yi Ling not replying, he continued. "It was once called the Divine Harmony Bow. It was a bow that I made for her. She brought this bow down to Huaxia and fight her way through to the top."

"Fight her way to the top? Why is that?" When you're a Goddess, doesn't that bring you to the top already? Yi Ling didn't understand this logic.

"When she made Huaxia, she also created a link to Diyu. Where all the souls go after they died. To get their atonements for their sins, to reincarnate and to have a new life. King Jin told her about Diyu, it was the only way for someone to reincarnate or else their souls will be stuck inside Diyu.

Unfortunately, the link to Diyu was tampered by someone. When Meiling created the link, The Vengeful Spirits came out to roam the land. This Spirits are the ones who had so much regrets in their lives that they refuse to reincarnate. When one wants to reincarnate, one has to be willing to drink the Tea of Forgetfulness brewed by Meng Po in the 10th court.

If they refuse, they became Vengeful Spirits. After experiencing their atonements and unable to reincarnate makes them lose their minds and became this Spirits. Usually this Spirits are kept hidden well inside Diyu. But because of the tampered link, Meiling accidentally open the link where they were kept.

This Spirits decided to possessed the humans. This was the reason why most of everyone didn't follow Meiling. Only the King of the Spiritual Beasts and its kind was Meiling's trusted allies. It wasn't until she was on the top, that Meiling was able to conquer Huaxia as its Goddess. They lived in prosper for quite a while, Until the Gods in heaven killed Meiling. They didn't know that the Vengeful Spirits stayed docile inside their host to be able to ascend to heaven."

Yi Ling didn't know how to react, there was too much information to process. Vengeful Spirits?

"Are they still around? This Vengeful Spirits?" Yi Ling clenched her fist.

"Yes. Though King Jin was able to move the link later on to its right spot, it was too late. Huaxia and Heaven was full of them. That's why King Jin eradicated everyone in Heaven and close the gates to heaven. He also took out the source of spiritual energy in the land, causing the state of Huaxia to be in now. I believe I said this to you before. He didn't care about what happens to this land, since everyone in it was the cause of Meiling death." Mu Xin sighed.

Yi Ling's heart was being tugged with pain. She could only imagine how hard it was for King Jin to lose his little sister and lover. "How did Meiling got back? If she was dead?"

"She reincarnated and forgotten her memories. Somehow, she defy all the laws and ascended to heaven. Even though the gates was close, she was able to squeeze herself in. She was an aberrant." Mu Xin shake his head.

"How did she die?" Yi Ling gulped.

Mu Xin closed his eyes. "King Jin killed her".

Yi Ling gasped. No wonder they all resented him, especially Meiling. But why was there pain in her heart as well? Hearing those words, made Yi Ling tear up.

"Why did he killed her?" This, she wanted to know. Will Mu Xin tell her?
