The Fallen Consort

For two weeks, Yi Ling focused her energy on familiarizing the Divine Harmony Bow. It didn't take her long until she had fully mastered the skill. This was due to her soul's memory. Although she could not remember it fully, it was as if Meiling's memories guided her on mastering the skill.

Muxin had been very diligent with her as well. Not only was she able to easily enhanced her skill because of him, but he was also able to impart some profound archery skills to her. Overall, she would be able to take down someone who is on the 7th rank of Emergent Stage.

With her going on closed-door cultivation, The Sect had been handled well by her contractual herbs and beast.

"Should we inform the Master?" Linyu asked the two in front of him.

Haoran shrugged while Tefei sighed.

"This was exactly the same occurrence when everything started before. You guys weren't there when it started. I'm afraid we would have to start gathering an army before it gets out of control." Tefei crossed his arms as he recalled what happened in his early life. They were currently inside the Sect's Main Hall to discuss an issue.

"Right, right. You were with Master Meiling before as her right-hand man. *Sigh* Too bad I wasn't there at that time. I heard from Lord Muxin that the Master was a sight to behold!" Linyu couldn't help but be envious of Tefei.

"Although the Goddess is strong before, even she wasn't able to fix the problem. The Goddess now is only an Emergent Stage Cultivator. How will she be able to resolve this?" Haoran didn't want to be the one to say these kinds of things, yet someone has to say the negative sides of the situation.

Tefei and Linyu sighed. This was an unbearable truth. In these past two weeks, the Sect had received numerous tasks and help missions from the outside. Either it was to save a person who had lost his or her mind, Someone wreaking havoc on a village, Mysterious disappearances and all sorts of aggressive people popping out of nowhere. If it wasn't for Tefei, no one would be able to know what the heck was going on. This was the works of the vengeful spirits.

"Why are they acting up again after so many years?" Linyu couldn't help but asked. It has been more than a hundred million years since they had last acted up.

"It might have to do with Master herself. She was the reason for Huaxia to be born in the first place. The more she gets stronger, the more wreckless the vengeful spirits are. Since Lord Muxin had never exterminated everything after the Master died, they could only hide away from fear." Tefei shook his head at his own conclusion.

"If the Master is the reason why they are getting wild again. That only means that they don't fear our Master. What about Lord Muxin? Although he is in heaven, he is still strong enough to vanquish this vile spirits!" Linyu bit his nails. He was getting agitated by the way their topic went.

Haoran sighed. "You have to remember. Although Lord Muxin is strong, that was millions of years ago. Since he lost a part of his soul and was locked inside the Ring, how could you say that he is still strong right now? You didn't even get to see him nor his powers."

"That true. Due to Master's punishment, Lord Muxin's powers should have downgraded. This could also be the reason why those spirits have decided to gang up again." Tefei scratched his head.

"Then what should we do? The Master ought to know all of this. By the time Lord Minzhe left, he should be back anytime now. When he left, he said that the latest he would be back by two weeks and three weeks would be the longest." Linyu clenched his fist.

"Worst comes to worst, we would have to mobilize the sect in order to help mankind. If Lord Minzhe is able to bring Lord Muxin back, then we would be able to have some help from the spiritual beasts. Unfortunately, I don't think all of these humans would cooperate. Humans are now much vulnerable since the vengeful spirits are back. They would try all sorts of tricks to deter us and our plans. I have seen all of these before and I would hate to see a blood bath again." Tefei sighed again.

Linyu sighed while Haoran kept silent. Right now, all of them were weak. Since they had been busy with the Sect, they have sort of neglected their own cultivation. They kept sighing, unable to come up with a conclusion.

"Why the long faces ?" Someone came out and interrupted their thoughts.

The three instantly stood up and turned to see the person who came in. It was no other than Jin Minzhe himself. But instead of looking at him, they looked at the person who was standing behind him.

They were all caught surprised, their heart started beating ironically. It was Tefei who had the courage to answer. "Lord Minzhe, your back." He bowed and clasped his fist respectfully.

"En. Where is my mother? I went to check on her room but she wasn't there." Minzhe looked at the trio, but when he said these words their eyes widened.

"Master is not in her room? That can't be. She said she will go in the Sapphire Jade Ring to do a closed-door training with Qianru." Linyu stepped forward and replied.

Minzhe's brows furrowed. "She must've been done then but where did she go?" The trio had empty expressions, they really didn't know where she went. Before anybody could even say another word, the person behind Minzhe spoke.

"Do you still hate this King?" King Jin's voice was cold yet full of regrets.

The trio looked towards him and even Minzhe turned around. Minzhe was about to reply when a voice came out of nowhere.

"Why? Did you regretted ever meeting me?" Yi Ling's voice permitted inside the Hall, her voice echoed. They looked all around but was unable to see where she was.

King Jin stepped forward and walked slowly towards the main seat. The four pair of eyes looked at him. King Jin's black hair and purple eyes made one unable to move. His black imperial robes made him look strong and cold at the same time.

As soon as he was in front of the top seat where the Sect Master chair, he bent one of his knees and said. "I have never regretted meeting you nor saving you from that cruel world. Even If I had to die in the end, unable to gain your love and forgiveness. I would still do the same thing all over again." He stretched his right hand towards the chair, trying to touch someone who was invisible.

As soon as his hand touched that person, ripples of energy popped out and breaking her invisibility spell. His hand landed on her left cheek. Why he didn't recognize her before, was because even Meiling's face was removed in his memories.

"Can you forgive me? ... Ling'er ... " he spoke these words so softly, his heart was breaking. Finally, after years and years of waiting. He was finally able to see her again. The only one who had set a fire inside his heart. The once cold and empty heart of his was lighted with a small fire, when he touched her cheeks.
