The King's Queen

19 Formalities

♔ Eustacia (P.O.V)

Flynn left almost two hours ago. For nearly the same amount of time, I've been tucked away into my ball. For the rest of the time, I was able to make improvements to the area around me. I had the chance to remove most of the blood soaked hay and place it into a different corner of the cell. Some of the hay that's left still has blood caked onto it, but it's manageable and less revolting. I've been able to scratch it into a comfortable bed; it's comfortable by my wolf standards.

I've been through worse than the conditions of this cell. Although, I'm not entirely sure if that's a good thing.

I've been lied to. I've been tossed to the bottom of the pack. I've been beaten and tortured. I've been shoved into my wolf form with no sign of turning back. I can no longer hear my wolf, and I'm not sure if I can turn back without whatever Flynn has. Yet as bad as everything is, the worse out of the entire scenario is the fact my Goddess given mate marked someone else. Worse than that, he banished her from the pack and brought her back.

A familiar pain rushes through my chest. I thought he was starting to accept me.

Apparently, he hasn't and never will.

The quicker I can accept that, the quicker I'll heal.

I had no hope for healing or even living after he rejected me. After all, weak werewolves tend to die after a high rank rejects them. Especially an alpha.

Sure, I'm an alpha by blood, and normally getting or rejecting wouldn't bother me. However, Emma had a point when she said no one would want me. I'm frail. Nothing but skin and bones, and that makes me extremely weak. With every fiber in my body, I expected to die once the rejection was completed. More so if or when he marked Emma.

My human body wouldn't be able to handle it.

In all honesty, I'm surprised I survived it. Maybe it had to do with being in my wolf form. After all, my wolf is stronger. Whatever it was, I'm not going to let this opportunity go to waste.

If he wants me to fight against another wolf for the entertainment of others, I'll do it. I'm competent enough to know how to fight. After all, I've had to learn how to take care of myself. The only problem is how weak I am. Thankfully, the shot Flynn gave me has healed my bones and any injuries I had. Overall the shot seems to have boosted every aspect of my wolf's strength. It seemed to work like a booster shot.

I'm still skinny as hell, though.

Weight will most likely be a factor in the pits. So it's safe to assume that if I get pinned down, I'm a goner. I've seen how these other wolves act. They're nothing but savage beasts. So, I'll have to go about the fight defensively.

I damn sure am going to give this fight my all. I get that serum from him, and I can figure it out from there. If he doesn't give me the serum... I'll just run after the match, but it's time to get out of here.

"Get up and sit, Eustacia." The voice that greeted me as the silver door squeaked open only confirmed my suspicions.

I let a low growl escape my lips, showing my teeth slightly. I've had enough of his shit.

"Get up and sit!" He barks in his alpha tone, so I had no choice but to obey.

Quickly I raise and prop myself in a sitting position. I sweep my solid black tail across my front paws, staring down at the ground. I slowly begin twitching my tail with annoyance.

"Better," he laughs.

I don't even have to look up to know he's flashing one of his asshole smiles.

"The king is here, and it's your time to shine. First thing's first, we need to talk about a few tiny~ details," clicking his tongue, he grabs the chain to my collar with his gloved left hand and pulls tightly.

I can feel as the silver teeth dig deep into my flesh. The stinging pain is now just an annoying itch.

Fear rushes through my spine as he quickly wraps the chain around my muzzle. Pulling tighter than he had before, he ensures he has a secure grip and slowly nudges my head up with his right index finger to meet his eyes.

He wore his usual black beanie and a plain navy blue button-up shirt. Paired with regular dark blue jeans and a pair of black and white tennis shoes.

Moments after our eyes made contact, he stuffs his right hand in his pocket and pulls out a vial. The vial is visibly transparent in appearance, and the liquid that it contained shined a cloudy white color.

Shaking the vial in front of my face, he snickers as he tucks it back safely into his pocket. "This is the antidote I promised you. It's hard to get, and only a few people know how to make it. So, you know, I'm being nice when I offer it up on the table."

He pats his pocket as he lets out a chuckle. "Without this, you probably won't turn back into a human. Plus, your wolf will stay in limbo," he shrugs as he continues, "I gave you the same thing I gave those beasts. The only difference was you have alpha blood, and you didn't get as much injected into your system."

My heart sinks. So without that, I will never be human again. Nor will I have my wolf back. That essentially makes me an animal. I love being a wolf, don't get me wrong... but I'm a werewolf. Without my wolf or human parts, what am I?

Grabbing the lower half of my jaw Flynn tightens the chains more. "Ah, I forgot one thing. Let's do this properly," his smile grows bigger, " Eustacia Van, omega to the Rushing River pack. As your alpha, I hereby exile you from the pack."

A rock drops in my stomach as I feel the pack bond break. My eyes begin to sting and burn as emptiness feels the hole where my pack had been my entire life. Without a pack, I am no more than a rogue.

"Only formalities sweetheart. You needed blood-red eyes like the others. Sure, your eyes were red before, but they had a tint of amber to them. So just by looking at you, everyone would know you weren't a rogue. That would cause problems, especially with the king."

Flynn pulls tightly on the chain, quickly it tightens around my muzzles and digs the spikes deeper into my flank. Briskly he yanks me forward and begins to walk toward the pits, dragging me along behind him. "We will figure out what to do after when it comes down to it. Until then, you better win."

I've been rejected. I've been beaten and tortured. I've been forced into my wolf form permanently. My wolf is gone until I get an antidote. My mate that didn't complete the rejection, marked another she-wolf. I'm being forced to fight for entertainment. Now, I've been exiled from my pack.

All within the last 48 hours. The amount of rage that is flowing through my body can not be put into words.

If I'm being honest, I pity the poor fucking soul that is about to go up against me. I'm done being everyone's bitch, and it's time for my claws to come out.
