The Legendary Pseudo-villain

Chapter 70 - For Educational Purposes Only...!

"I just want to know for educational purposes," Hecathe beamed, "So tell me in any case, will you?"

The auctioneer gulped as his breath got stuck in his throat and he looked at Hecathe with suspicion. This time, his thoughts could be clearly seen on his face although he had tried his best to control his expressions.

"Believe me," Hecathe smiled as he reassured but the auctioneer couldn't help but feel that the smile given was wicked... Really wicked!

"Well, even if you don't tell me, I can always go around and ask others," Hecathe sighed as he commented and the auctioneer looked to be a little worried as he heard this.

"Sir, are you sure you are only interested in knowing for educational purposes?"

Hecathe had a small mischievous smile on his face as he nodded his head at this question, "It's purely to increase my own knowledge."

"Three years," The man sighed as he finally answered the question that Hecathe had asked, "Within six months of hatching, the Dorgon would be fully grown into its adult body but it would take at least three years for it to be considered an adult by its parents and once it is considered as an adult, it would officially be crowned as the emperor."

"I see..." Hecathe seemed to have been thinking about it deeply as he heard this, "And in this case, since the egg has been taken away from its parents, the dorgon inside would never be proclaimed as the emperor?"

"That's right, but wrong at the same time," The man replied as he informed seriously, "Since this Egg would never get the chance to hatch or grow, it would never become the emperor but hypothetically speaking, if you were to let it hatch and grow, it would become the emperor after three years."

"Is that so?" Hecathe's lips curled up in a devious smirk as he muttered in response, "Then is there a procedure for it to become the emperor?"

"There's nothing as such, sir," The man sighed as he spoke, "The Dorgon would be titled as the emperor through the mind link. As long it has the golden blood running through its vein and is still alive, it would be entitled to that title, however, since you'll kill it before that happens, there is nothing for you to worry about."

'Master, you should tell this man to stop spouting so much nonsense,' The Dorgon spoke up as he heard all this, 'I'm the emperor since my birth! I don't need those three years. Tell him to take those three years and shove it up his ass!'

Hecathe couldn't help but chuckle as he heard the Dorgon cursing the man so casually.

"Sir, I wonder if I was able to help you gain more knowledge on the topic?"

Hecathe stopped laughing and nodded as he spoke, "I have certainly learned a lot."

The auctioneer sighed in relief as he commented, "That's good. This should also stop you from thinking about hatching the egg."

"You don't need to worry about that," Hecathe reassured.

It wasn't like this auctioneer's words were going to change Hecathe's mind so the man really didn't need to worry about it since it would be absolutely useless for him to try and advise Hecathe who had already made up his mind.

"Sir, I hope you understand the consequences enough. There are a lot of people that had been confident when they thought they could deal with a Dorgon and most of them are no longer in this world," The auctioneer sighed.

"Like The great Edler?" Hecathe asked with an amused smirk.

"Eh?" The man blinked in surprise as he suddenly heard the name.

"That man also tried and failed, didn't he?" Hecathe chuckled as he questioned and from his tone alone, it could be sensed that he was somewhat mocking the man in his head.

"The great Edler was a hero who had succumbed to the power of the great Dorgon," The man frowned as he stated, "How can he be compared to those who tried to control the Dorgon for their own selfish reasons...?!"

"Then you're saying the great Edler had no selfish reasons?" Hecathe's smirk was nowhere to be seen on his face as he asked with an indecipherable expression.

"H-He must have had a good reason!" The man exclaimed as he defended Alphius's father.

"I wonder..." Hecathe muttered but didn't bother saying anything more as he felt that if he didn't stop now, he would somehow end up offending this auctioneer who was clearly a fan of the great Edler.

Hecathe stepped forward and knocked on the egg as he shifted the topic once again and asked, "Can this shell even be broken?"

The auctioneer snapped out of his thoughts as he heard this question and stuttered as he responded, "I-it can be broken. You can just use a sharp knife to pierce through it."

"That's right!" The man exclaimed as he stepped forward towards the egg and added, "You have never cooked one of these before, have you, sir?"

Hecathe shook his head as he answered, "I haven't."

"There is a special step that you must never skip when cooking a dorgon egg," The man beamed as he informed, "You have to first pierce the egg with a sword. Make sure that the sword can go all the way through and when you pull it out, there must be blood on it."

"..."

"Dorgon Egg is not exactly like other eggs so the Dorgon child sitting inside has already grown up to a state where it can fight. If you break the shell without killing the kid inside first then you might end up being dinner instead of cooking the Dorgon Egg as your dinner. You have to be careful," The man spoke as if he had seen the latter scenario happen with a previous customer.

Hecathe nodded his head with a chuckle as if stating that he had understood the man.

"After stabbing, you must wait for the egg to change color. Once it turns red, you can break the shell and cook the meat inside."

'Master, can you kill this lowly conceited human for me?' The Dorgon asked with a ruthlessly cold voice and Hecathe couldn't help but smile as he ignored the Dorgon that seemed to be planning a murder for the man who was instructing Hecathe on how to properly murder the Dorgon.
