The Legendary Pseudo-villain
Chapter 71 - The Greatest Legend?
Once the man was done explaining the cooking procedure, Hecathe took the egg and got ready to leave, however, the auctioneer stopped him one last time as he spoke.
"Sir, if you ever find those pure mutant beads again, you must not forget about us."
"..."
"Make sure to come here and sell it to us. We would be willing to give you a fair price for it."
Hecathe nodded his head as he heard the man, "I would make sure that you're the first one I come to if I find more."
It wasn't exactly a lie since Hecathe did plan on selling more mutant beads to this auction.
The auctioneer smiled as he heard this response that didn't sound like a lie simply said to make him feel assured.
Hecathe was soon given a special carrier bag that worked much alike his pocket suitcase. Once the egg was placed inside it and he closed the bag, the bag shrunk down to a size that could easily be kept in his pocket.
It seemed that the people in this auction house didn't care if they were using Alphius's creations.
Hecathe didn't waste any time as he immediately left the auction.
"Master, where are we going now?" Although the egg was kept inside the small compressed bag, he could still talk, and naturally enough, only Hecathe was able to hear him.
"To collect some money," Hecathe responded without bothering to explain any further.
"Collecting money? Are you rich, Master?" The Dorgon asked and although the words chosen were polite, the way the Dorgon spoke them was far from polite.
"Rich?" Hecathe repeated as he thought about the answer but instead of actually giving the Dorgon an answer, he asked back, "Does it matter if I'm rich or not?"
"Of course, it does!" The Dorgon immediately exclaimed as he added, "Isn't money the thing that rules your people?"
"..."
"You kill anything and everyone for some Lenix. The one who has money has more power and the one who doesn't is considered weak in front of the powerful!"
Hecathe chuckled as he heard this and commented, "You seem to know a lot about humans."
The Dorgon sounded a bit proud as he stated, "I'm the great emperor! Knowing something so common is to be expected."
Hecathe nodded his head as he found it a bit funny to hear an unborn Dorgon say something like this.
"You're right, money rules humans. It is another word for power. You can either be born with a unique powerful ability or you can be born with a lot of money. If you are fortunate enough to say that you have one of those things, you'll be regarded as powerful."
"Then are you powerful, Human?"
You forgot to call me master," Hecathe pointed out as he once again dodged answering the question.
"Then are you powerful, Master?" The Dorgon immediately changed his words and repeated the question.
"What do you think?" Hecathe smirked as he asked back in turn.
This time, the Dorgon seemed to be seriously thinking about the answer for a bit as he took his sweet time responding.
"You can't be ordinary."
"Hmm?" Hecathe hummed as his lips curled up in a small smirk after hearing this response, "What makes you say that?"
"You were able to save me so I'm sure that you are not an ordinary person," The Dorgon added as he explained his thoughts, "You are more confident than any human I've ever seen and there has to be a supporting base behind that confidence. If I had to guess then I would say that you are powerful. After all, I would never serve a weak human."
Hecathe chuckled as he found this response a bit amusing.
"I'm right, aren't I?" The Dorgon questioned.
"You're right and wrong at the same time," Hecathe sighed as he responded, "My pockets are currently empty after paying for you.
"..."
"If money is power then I'm currently powerless," Hecathe admitted and the Dorgon was left thoroughly speechless after hearing this.
"And even my powers," Hecathe continued as he added, "They are not my own. They belong to the owner of this body which was originally not me. So since even the powers are borrowers, it makes me completely useless, don't you think?"
The Dorgon took a minute to respond but when he finally did, Hecathe winced as he almost felt his ears bleed because of the loudness of the Dorgon's voice.
"You tricky Bastard! If you are powerless then why the hell do you go around showing off such confidence?! I'd have to be crazy to follow a weak human like you! Forget it! I'm calling our deal off! I'm not calling you Master anymore!"
Hecathe couldn't help but laugh as he heard this, "You want to call our deal off?"
"That's right! You can just go to hell! Since you've saved me, I'll be humble enough to let you leave with your body intact!"
"Now you're even threatening me?" Hecathe questioned with an amused tone that he was not even trying to hide, "In that case maybe I should really try using the cooking method that the auctioneer taught me."
"..."
"Even if I'm weak, it wouldn't be hard to stab a Dorgon egg with a sword."
"Master, why do you get offended so easily?" The Dorgon gulped as he turned polite and asked.
Hecathe chuckled as he heard this change in tone and replied, "It doesn't matter if I'm weak or powerful. In the end, I'll be the one who wins. Do you know why?"
"Why?"
"Because I'm Hecathe Osborne and I refuse to lose!"
The people who were walking around Hecathe on the street were clearly weirded out by this man that kept talking to himself and when they heard Hecathe announce something like this so confidently, they cautiously stepped away from him as they tried their best to keep their distance from such a madman.
"Master... You know what you just sounded like?"
"The greatest Legend to ever exist?" Hecathe asked with a smirk.
"No," The Dorgon was quick to respond, "You sound Like the most dangerous villain to ever exist."
"..."
That sounded acceptable as well.
