The Queen Wicked Deeds

Chapter 109 - Little boy

[Beth…

The master of the Hesse family didn't die, however, the injuries were serious enough to make him stay in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

No one knew who was the one behind the sudden attack as the driver of the truck suddenly died in the hospital and so, the authorities considered it an accident.

However… Beth was not convinced.

She was sure that someone had plotted against her dear grandpa's life. The path his car was driving was near the mansion and the main entrance, therefore, no trucks could enter that way, they had to go through the back door to be inspected.

How can the authorities not know about that? The investigation should have given them a lead, but they left with the conclusion as a mere accident, nothing more.

"What is going on?"

Beth kneeled before her grandpa, she knew that the only one with the power to suppress the investigation was him.

"There is nothing to worry about, my dear," the old man patted her head with care, but she didn't give in to his sweet words. Her eyes were narrowed with anger and disappointment. "Don't worry, Beth… sigh… we have to rearrange your party."

"That is not important now," she said with some tears in her eyes. "We must find who did this to you."

"Beth…"

"Don't… I won't forgive anyone who dared to touch my precious family."

She stood up and went away. The old man thought that her dear granddaughter won't have the chance to do anything as she was still a little girl that depended on him entirely, so he let it pass.

His focus was on preparing the big event where he will finally present his dear granddaughter to the world. He will announce then his decision to make her his only heir, and also… he will tell her the name his parents once called her.

The enthusiasm resonated again in the mansion after the many days the Master had spent in the hospital. The workers, the chefs, the servants were preparing every single detail for the party.

"This is good," the old man said. "She will love this one."

He was tasting the cakes and the other desserts for the evening. It was no secret that the little girl that now was reaching the age of eighteen years old, was a dessert lover. Any sweet candy, pastry, cake dish in front of her would be treated as the elixir of her life.

However, she was yet to know the true delicacy that will mark her every day from now on.

"Where is Beth?"

"We cannot find her, sir."

The maids came back, and each one reported that she was nowhere. The guards at the gates also told that no one had seen anyone pass from the main gates.

"Find her!"

The old man almost jumped from his chair.

"Master!"

"Find her, track her now!"

He was furious but more than anything anxious and desperate. If something happened to her while on his watch, he would never be able to answer his son in the afterlife. ]

The Academy dance party was a custom very well known in the continent. It was a great opportunity for the many figures of the future generations to know each other and to become allies and good friends. Though, some of them became rivals in the future.

"Damn wizard!"

The Principal of the Academy, Adam Robinson, was launched through the window of the Founding Tower with his archenemy, Wizard Druon. They both were chained together, and so they landed together in a remote forest on the outskirts of the Academy.

"You are the idiot," Druon retorted. "If someone hadn't depleted my magic, we could have come back earlier."

"You!" The Principal was about to explode in anger, "you made me catch a terrible cold, and now you are…"

"But I cure you, shouldn't you be grateful for my awesomeness?"

"I will give you…"

"What? A plaque for being your savior?"

"You will see," he said with a smile on his face. The kind of smile that can provoke shivers in any innocent person.

The wizard didn't suspect anything as he was walking in the front. He hoped that they had finally reached the entrance of the Academy, or his shoes would be wasted.

"Don't you have your MINI with you?"

"No."

"Why?"

"I left it in the tower before you…"

"How careless…"

"… I hate you."

"That doesn't take out that you are a careless idiot."

"I hate you so much."

They had walked for a few days, and they hadn't found any carriage on the road. That was strange, as he remembered that the spring season was coming and the dance party was around the corner. So many carriages should be coming to deliver the beautiful dresses for the girls and the suits for the boys.

Suddenly a boom exploited in the horizon. It came from the direction of the Academy.

"What is going on?" Druon said as he narrowed his eyes towards there.

"I don't know," Adam Robinson took out a strange pen from his inner pocket and gave it several turns. Then a small red laser came through and broke the chain. "We should go faster, that explosion… hey!"

The stupid wizard was already summoning a cloud to fly.

"Did you have it all this time?"

"Yep."

"I hate you!"

Meanwhile, in the Academy, three factions were still in a strange fight.

The ones in the garden labyrinth were playing a strange ball game while passing each other the little ċhėst with a lid of gold. They didn't know what it was. No one knew what it was but one person.

The other group was battling with a strange show of magic and swords. John versus Four Beautiful Boys, they had changed their field to the plaza just outside the big hall of the spring dance.

"Get out of the way," Collin said as he was dispatching his subordinates with swords to attack her.

'No," she signaled and took out her sword. 'Return to your tower.'

"I will have that treasure."

'No, you won't.'

"I will.'

'You won't.'

The discussion continued for a few more minutes while James battled with the knights alone.

"Moira…" he tried to call her many times, but she was still in a glaring battle with the blond boy before her. "Hey…"

"Don't get distracted, little boy."

One of the other soldiers said as he was smirking with delight. He was not a student from the Academy, but one of the many soldiers that worked for the Duke of Eylos.

He was called to ȧssist the young master Collin in his endeavor to oppose the Princess. However, he didn't expect that such an opportunity to smack the son of that Minister Prim would arrive.

"Who are you?" James wanted to distract the man for a second, he knew that he was not an opponent for a real knight, so his only way to stop him was to engage in conversation. "You should not be here."

"Why not, little boy?"

"Because the Academy forbids it."

"I don't see anyone stopping me."

"…" James knew that the knights guarding the Academy were far away, and it was impossible to call for them now. "Either way, you should go or I will report you to the…"

"Little boy, someone should teach you some courage."

The man smirked and the other three behind him also laughed.

"I will be kind and give you some pointers on how to be a real man, a knight. What do you say?"

"I would be so… so disgusted," James said. He knew how the northern soldiers trained, his father once mentioned it, and he found it disgusting.

Their practices were cruel and senseless. They only wanted to create soldiers and knights without reasoning nor logic. The young ones could only follow blind orders. The ones that could withstand such hellish training could only stay there as the next leaders without heart.

"You little boy…" the man laughed and wielded his sword, "it is time for you to enter your first lesson."

The man launched an attack, and James bȧrėly could block it. However, his legs were shaking so much that he felt them giving up.

"Don't shake, little boy, this is just the beginning."

Another attack landed, and a little crack appeared in the blade. James could not believe it but then… another attack and a small part of his blade went flying. Then as another attack was about to land in his sword.

"Moira!"
