The Queen Wicked Deeds
Chapter 124 - Dessert Zone equals Love Zone
Beth didn't want to go to the party, she was only a little girl of thirteen years old that had never attended such a high-class event. She had seen it from afar before, but she never thought that she would be once invited.
The few last birthday parties were held in some other place, a luxurious hotel, or the island from the family. So she stayed in the mansion with her parents without tiring herself.
The old grandpa Mills had invited before, but she rejected with the excuse of the school. However, this time she didn't have a choice but to attend.
Her parents were delighted when they saw the beautiful blue gown Master Mills had gifted to her. It was beautiful, she looked like a princess. Her hair was carefully combed with soft waves on the back, making the eye-catching hair more outstanding than before.
"Who is she?" the words of Frank came as a hypnotized whispered. His eyes were fixed on the cute little girl that was now the center of attention of the party.
Even if it was for teenagers, they were schooled into behaving like mȧturė kids from the beginning. They were no running around, but they were casually speaking and waiting for the spectacle to begin.
There was always some kind of show to entertain the guests, and it was always amazing. They couldn't wait to watch it.
However, that was not all, Master Mills would always force Henry to invite one of the girls to sit beside him to watch the show. Every year was a different girl, and they only watched the show together.
The indifferent little boy would always stay shut, not a word could come from his cute little mouth. So the girls would always return with sad faces.
Now, every year, they will wait to have the opportunity to approach him. They would even dress in something near the color of his suit.
"Beth…" Henry whispered and was about to walk towards her when he saw someone already moving to her.
It was his idiotic friend Frank that was already shyly asking her name from her lips.
"May I know your name, my lady?"
His face was so red that he looked cute. Beth couldn't help but smile at the boy that was bowing as if he were some kind of knight.
"My name is…"
"What are you doing here?!"
The voice of Henry interrupted her introduction and moved to grab her hand and pull her towards him.
Beth didn't know what to say. She would always feel the need to hide her words from him. Even her smile was not showing anymore.
"Who let you inside? Answer me!"
The other boys and girls had never seen Henry that angered, even the ȧduŀts around looked strangely at the young master. They had praised him before for being so mȧturė and well-behaved, and so, they were surprised to see him react that way.
"I was invited by Master Mills," Beth said with a small voice. "Can you let go now?"
She struggled from freeing her hand, but the little boy didn't let her. He won't let her go anywhere for the rest of the event. It was not safe.
"Stay put," he sighed and pulled her from her hand.
She didn't say anything and let him lead her around.
"Henry?"
The two boys, Frank and Cedric, looked at each other and followed Henry. They had never seen Henry behave like that towards any girl. Even touching their hands gave him the creeps and put him on bad humor.
So… there must be something special in that girl.
"Hey," Frank stopped in front of Henry with his arms extended, "She hadn't told me her name yet."
Henry glared at him, "there is no need. Now move."
However, before he could walk forward, a soft voice with a small whisper entered their ears. It was so beautiful and melodic that Frank couldn't help but blush again.
"My name is Beth, you can call me Beth," she smiled and extended her other hand to greet the boy.
However, Henry didn't let her by pulling her again with him.
Frank, on the other hand, was stunned and almost brought to his knees.
"Frank? Hey!" Cedric pushed him and shook his shoulders. However, the boy was now smiling foolishly and without reserve. He now looks like a perfect little fool.
"I think I…" he touched his heart, "I've been hit by the arrow of love."
"Idiot… sigh…"
"My lovely Dulcinea had finally found me," he said and blushed even more, but then, he remembered Henry, "I should go and rescue her from that hideous cold monster that is restraining her laughter and hiding her smile from her true love."
Cedric couldn't stand it anymore. He shook his head and walked to the dessert zone. The path the couple from before had gone to.
"Why haven't you let go of my hand?"
Beth was feeling her fingers go numb. She knew that her hand was now a bit red and swollen, but she didn't have the courage to take it from his grasp.
"Don't talk with anyone," the voice of Henry traveled her ears as if it was a cruel warning. "Don't look at anyone, don't smile at anyone, do you hear me?"
She frowned. "Why?"
"Because they are far from your circle, you should have not been here from the beginning."
"I understand," she lowered her head and bit her lips. There were many times she was told those words by her parents. They should not try to mingle with the high-class people that come to the Mansion, or they could get into trouble.
She did as told, after all, she was not interested in joining them. Not even Henry.
"Can you let go now?" she tried to pull her hand from his, "I will return home."
The little house of the Smith couple was far from the mansion. It was not a luxurious house, but enough for the three of them. She always loved that house more than the Mansion, even if it was small and there were not many rooms. They lived happily inside.
Not like inside the Mansion, where only empty rooms and loneliness could be found. She once thought that Henry would feel terrified living there. Therefore, she thought that her company will bring him joy.
However, she changed her mind when he made it clear that she was not welcomed into his family. The only reason for her to be there was to pay a debt.
Henry regretted his words instantly when he saw her little dejected face.
"You can't go," he cleared his throat, "Grandpa won't like it."
He didn't want to let her go too. From the moment he saw her entering the hall dressed that way, he knew that he had been enchanted. Almost to a foolish state like Frank.
However, he didn't like that the other kids were watching her. She should be his alone, even if she is now having more friends than him. She will be his in the end.
"Don't separate from my side, do you hear me?"
He looked at her beautiful golden eyes and saw her nod. That sight fascinated him, to see her that cute and obedient, like when she was only a five-year-old kid.
"Good," he smiled a bit and patted her hair.
Beth widened her eyes in surprise. It had been so long since the last time she saw him smile at her. It would be a lie if she said that she hadn't waited for that and was eager to see it again.
"Take this," he handed her a little tart. It was small and only for a few bites, but it was lovely adorned. "Taste it."
He hadn't let go of her hand, and so he took the fork with his other hand and took a bite to feed her. She felt so embarrassed, but opened her mouth and let him get the food for her.
The taste was marvelous, "Do you like it?"
She nodded with bright eyes.
"It is a fruit tart," he smiled at her, "Have you ever eaten it?"
"More?"
He laughed at how she was nodding her head without saying a word and opening her mouth, waiting for him.
They were so engrossed in their little world that they failed to notice the crows of girls and boys circling them and with wide mouths.
"What is going on, Cedric?" Frank turned to see his friend.
"I don't know."
