The Revenge Turned To Love

"Who killed my father?" Ru Shi questioned Dewei. They both looked into each other's eyes for a while. Finally, he broke the silence "Let's go. You are getting late" he said.

He turned to go when Ru Shi grabbed his hand. "You said you will answer. It is suffocating to be around you. Dad told your name when he last time talked with me," she stated. Gan Dewei did not speak anything.

"Fine. I won't ask. It's your birthday today so I will not say anything harsh to you," saying this Ru Shi walked past him, thus leaving the room. Gan Dewei followed her. The car was already there and they both got inside it. Gan Dewei then drove the car to the residential apartment where Ru Shi was staying.

In the entire journey, there was utter silence between the two. As soon as they reached there, Ru Shi stepped down the car and without looking back ran inside. She stepped into the elevator and then reached the apartment block. Pressing the password, she got inside the room and closed the door behind her. Tears poured down her cheeks as she sat on the floor there.

Gan Dewei on the other hand felt bad hearing the words of Ru Shi. "She feels suffocated around me?" murmured Gan Dewei and drove the car at its maximum speed. He recalled the things of that day when he was met with Ru Shi's father. Suddenly he applied the brakes and the car came to standstill.

"I did not kill him," he said when his phone rang. He looked at the phone and found it was his father calling him. There were already 25 missed calls from his father but he did not answer anyone. He took the call when from the other side his father shouted at him and told him to come home quickly. Gan Dewei hung up the call and left for home.

As he reached there, the butler of the house, Mr. Charles told him that sir is in bad mood. He nodded and went in. His father and his stepmother were on the couch and on the other side his step elder brother was sitting.

He walked there and asked him why was he called. "What is this?" asked his father, Weng Luo, who the State District chief officer. He threw the newspaper which was going to print the next day and the headline was covering Gan Dewei on it. "Gan Dewei, the son of state District chief officer in Drug case" he read. 

"Are you trying to ruin my image in front of every single person in this city? Huh?" Weng Luo shouted at him. Gan Dewei lowered his eyes and did not say anything. "Why are you not speaking anything?" His father again asked him. 

"I did not do that. They are again trapping me," Gan Dewei stated.

"Son, your acts seem as if you are a criminal. Every now and then you are involved in some cases. We have given you everything then why are you doing this?" said his stepmother, Jilong Xi. 

"You have given me everything?!" Gan Dewei chucked hearing her words when Weng Luo stood up and slapped Gan Dewei hard. He touched his cheek, while his eyes were still down. 

His elder stepbrother, Ruo Wan got up and told his father to calm down. "Why are you even here? Get out of my sight!" Weng Luo barked at her. Gan Dewei turned to go when Weng Luo angrily asked him why he was going out.

"I do not feel like living here," stated Gan Dewei. Weng Luo marched towards him, made him turned towards him, and again slapped him. "Why are you giving me headaches? Go inside your room. Try coming out and I will break your legs," threatened Weng Luo to him.

"Dad, calm down. Dewei, go to your room," his brother told him. Gan Dewei did not listen to them and walked out from there. He got into the car and drove to a bar. Ordering a few drinks for him he started drinking. "Mom, everyone hates your child," he said to himself while drinking. "I hate this day and my life," he further spoke. 

He took out his phone and thought to call Ru Shi. "She won't either be going to answer my call. I am again lonely. Today was my birthday but my family does not even remember this day. If you would be alive then I think I do not have to see such a day in my life. Why do you have to die so early?" murmured Gan Dewei and gulped the other drink.

Xian could be seen standing in the middle of the floor and the guests were surrounding him. There were many kids from a nearby orphanage who were invited to the Christmas party. He was singing Christmas songs for those kids and Samuel. 

Sam was standing with Mishi and dancing at his place, hearing Xian's voice when he left her hand and ran towards Xian and grabbed his one leg tightly. The people started smiling there as they could see how those two got attached to each other. Mark, Lan Zhan, and Lau Lan too joined them. Mark carried Sam into his hands and made him dance with him. 

The other kids there too joined them and they all started dancing together. "Sisi, brother Xian turns differently in front of the kids," said Chunhua. Mishi nodded and smiled seeing them happy. Chang too stood beside his sister. "Finally the things turned good," he said looking at Mishi who agreed with him. 

Lan Zhan took Chunhua towards the center of the floor and told her to sing. She did so and they all started dancing as she was singing beautifully. Xia was also with them dancing with Yin on the dance floor while Yuwan came to Mishi. 

"I am happy seeing you happy," said Yuwan. Mishi turned his head to look at him. "I missed you," she stated. Chang walked towards the floor as Chunhua gestured to him to come there. 

"Same. I took a promise from Xian and I can see he is succeeded in fulfilling that promise," Yuwan stated. 

"Hmm. He loves me a lot. Thank you for giving me a second life," Mishi asserted. 

"You don't need to thank me," stated Yuwan and smiled. "I found my true love too. She was always in front of me but I denied my feelings for her for a long time," pronounced Yuwan. 

"Good thing you realized. Xia and you look good together. Uncle must be seeing you two together," declared Mishi and gave him a bright smile. 

"Indeed he is happy," Yuwan said when Xian came there and took them towards the dance floor. Yuwan went to Xia while Xian held Mishi by her waist. 

"Let's dance," Xian whispered huskily in Mishi's ear. 

"What about Sam then?" Mishi asked. 

"He is with" Xian looked around and saw Lau Lan "with Lau Lan" he completed his words. Xian looked at Mishi and said, "do not be shy. Let's dance. See how beautifully our Chunhua is singing. We should dance." 

Mishi nodded and they both started moving at their places. Xian held her hands and made her do some weird steps. She laughed doing those steps with him. "Look at your parents," said Lan Zhan to Sam who was in Lau Lan's arms. 

"I want to do that," Sam said innocently. Lan Zhan smiled and then put him down from Lau Lan's hands. They started dancing like Mishi-Xian. 

Xian kissed her quickly while dancing when Mishi hit him on the shoulder. "At least look at surroundings before doing such acts," Mishi stated. Sam came to them after a while. The dance floor got crowded as the kids surrounded it. Mishi was busy them when she heard a whisper against her ear. "You will be with me soon" she heard. 

The person caught her both arms, thus keeping her intact in that place. "On the new year, you will get a surprise. Enjoy your few moments with your family as you have to come soon to me. No, do not ask anything. I will tell you everything in the new year. By the way, you are looking beautiful," asserted the person. 

He released his hands from Mishi's arm and left. Mishi turned to look but there was no one behind her. She was confused and at the same time terrified. She left the floor and searched for that unknown person. "Who was that? What is happening in the new year?" wondered Mishi when she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Yin. 

"Mishi, what are you doing here? Everyone is there," stated Yin and saw the worried expression on Mishi's face. 

"What happened? Why it seems like you are scared?" Yin questioned. Mishi smiled and replied, "Nothing." 

"What new storm is going to come in my life? What did he mean from a few moments with my family? It is terrifying" thought Mishi.
