The Stars In Your Eyes

Jian Kang Lu drove happily to his apartment to pick their luggage. Then he happily drove to his kitten's office, waiting for his kitten to finish his work.

They will go to Y lake tonight, and spend one night at one of the most luxurious hotels there for his birthday. The lake will be reached within 1,5 hours, perfect time to have dinner there after they checked in.

As usual, Jian Kang Lu bought a cup of coffee and waited for his beloved kitten in the coffee shop below the office. He happily plays his games over there. Once in a while the hospital called him or messaged him, reporting new patients, or gravely ill patient's condition he requested them to monitor.

Unless he took leave for more than three days, a doctor's life will still be full of patient's reports, 24/7. Holiday on the calendar only means he could choose not to visit the patient directly. That's why a doctor always brings his charger everywhere. Sometimes they even have two phones. One for private life, and the other for hospital's report..

Jian Kang Lu as an internist could receive 50 to 100 reports per day, since one critically ill patient could be reported hourly when their condition worsened. Doctors who wield knives, such as surgeons or obgyn, must be prepared to be summoned at any hour to the hospital in emergency condition even though they rarely receive patient reports.

That's why they say the four major branches in medicine are internist, pediatric, surgeon, and obsgyn. That's because these four specialties was the hardest compare to others.

At 6 o'clock, he saw a glimpse of his kitten's shadow. Jian Kang Lu happily finished his coffee, stood up and took his bag.

"Gegee.. Sorry, I can't finish my work earlier. Have you been waiting for long?"

Jian Kang Lu could see his kitten's breath a little bit heavy. It seems his kitten rushed to walk here. "No worries, baby. Do you want to buy some drinks before we go?"

Bai Yutang shook his head. He just wants to go and reach the hotel sooner. 

Jian Kang Lu told his kitten to rest his eyes. He knows his kitten always awoke earlier than him since he cooked for breakfast. His kitten refused at first, but then fell asleep once Jian Kang Lu played the soothing classical music. They reach the hotel at 8 o'clock. 

The hotel is located on Y Island, and is surrounded by magnificent views of Y Mountain, and the M Great Wall. The hotel is designed and inspired by the hotel's surrounding landscape, exudes the richness of diverse Chinese culture gathering in one harmonious place.

From a side angle, the hotel building is shaped like a scallop which represents 'Fortune' in the Chinese culture. From the front, it was shaped like the sun.

The exterior glass surface is covered by more than 10,000 glass panels. The panels are angled so that the top portion of the building reflects the color of the sky, the middle reflects nearby Yanshan Mountain and the bottom section reflects the lake.

It truly is a feast for an architect's eyes. Bai Yutang instantly awoke and took pictures with his mobile phone.

After checking in, Jian Kang Lu asked the hotel to send their luggage to their room, while he took his kitten to have dinner at the restaurant. They enjoyed a light dinner and didn't finish their one bottle of wine. Jian Kang Lu leisurely takes his kitten's hand and the bottle of wine upstairs.

It's almost 10 o'clock. They took a bath together in the bathtub. Jian Kang Lu already had so much imagination in his brain about what he wanted to do in the bathtub even before he reached their room. But unfortunately his kitten slapped his paw which unconsciously traveled to his kitten's butt.

"Gege, don't! Let's just go to sleep after this."

Jian Kang Lu felt wronged. Even though he gladly fulfills his duty as a virtuous husband if his kitten allows him to, but just now he truly just wants to knead that white round buttock. 

Bai Yutang was speechless to see his soon to be 40 years old lover pouting his mouth like a 5 year old toddler who wasn't allowed to have candy before they go to bed. Bai Yutang already knew later on at 12 o'clock he could not wake up if he let his lover do what he wanted.

So he urged Jian Kang Lu to finish the wine before bed and hurriedly go to sleep, preventing his lover from ruining his plan. 

Bai Yutang pretends to sleep, while fighting his own sleepy state. He was truly tired, and usually he was already asleep before 11 o'clock.

Bai Yutang silently listened to his lover's breath. Waiting for his lover's breath turned steady. His eyes locked at the clock upon the table, beside their bed. His lover's breath is warm, and tickles his ear.

Bai Yutang really tried his best to give his lover a surprise this year. He thickened his face when he ordered that thing. He truly wants to die when he presses order. He didn't even open the package which just delivered three days ago.

Out of eyes, out of mind. He decided not to open the package until the time arrived.

Ten minutes before midnight, Bai Yutang slowly moved his body, replacing his body with a pillow to prevent his lover from awakening.

He stealthily opened his luggage and took out the package then went inside the bathroom. When he opened it, it left him speechless. He really wanted to run away and just throw the package. It took him a full five minutes to silently stare at the package before he got rid of his dignity and finally go along with his plan.

"This is only once in a lifetime. Gege only turns 40 once in this lifetime." He repeats those words like a broken record in his brain.

Jian Kang Lu awoke by soft touch and a familiar voice whispered in his ear, "Gege.. Gege.. Happy Birthday.."

Jian Kang Lu slowly blinked his eyes and realised the one in his arms is a pillow, not his kitten's body. No wonder it felt cold.

He saw his kitten looming above him. The room dimmed but still had adequate lighting. Jian Kang Lu's instinct brings his face closer to that handsome face and kisses the pale pink lips while saying happy birthday over and over. He pecked it lightly.

"Mmm.. Thank you, baby.."

Several blink later, he realised his kitten was wearing a bathrobe, walked to the refrigerator and took out a small cake from inside. Jian Kang Lu didn't realise there's a cake inside, or where his kitten hid those candles. 

He sat up and smiled to see his kitten walking over, singing happy birthday to him. But.. Why is his kitten wearing a bathrobe? It seems they sleep with short and light T-shirts before. Is this.. Is this what he hoped for? Maybe his kitten was naked under the bathrobe, and allow him to eat his kitten cleanly tonight?

He blew the candles, silently uttered the same wish year by year, then kissed his red faced kitten. It seems his kitten is truly naked under it, or else why is his face already red just because of one simple kiss?

"Wait gege, i'll bring my gift." His kitten then ran to the bathroom. 

Jian Kang Lu took a deep breath, trying to calm his not so little brother down there. "Be patient, don't be like an animal in heat." He scolded his little brother.

His kitten brought out a small box.. With the same white bathrobe, but Jian Kang Lu's eyes locked to a different view in front of him. Previously it was a handsome man bundled with a white robe.

Now.. It was still the same white robe, but he could see a small red bow tied on his kitten neck, and his kitten was wearing red socks.

"Baby.. I saw something that really piqued my interest." Jian Kang Lu stares at his kitten. Stare at that red ribbon, to be exact.

His kitten's face really turns red. "Open my gift first.." His kitten softly said while giving the small box to him.

Jian Kang Lu never unwrapped a gift as fast as now. He could even compete in an international contest for unwrapping a gift. Inside the box, laid a dark red stethoscope. His name is engraved on it, with a small Libra sign attached on it. Libra is his sign, looking at the design, it must be something his kitten designed on his own.

"Thank you baby. How do you know I need a new stethoscope?" Jian Kang Lu said.

"I notice the residents talk about it last month.." His kitten seems restless, he looked like he wanted to run away. He didn't even sit on the bed, and kept standing there like a naughty boy who needed to be punished.

"So, can i now unwrap my other gift?" Jian Kang Lu scooted over and stood up in front of his kitten.

Bai Yutang's face is really red. He was afraid his lover would laugh at him. He didn't feel confident about this. He calms his mind by thinking, even if his lover laughs at him, at least it will amuse his lover.

He told himself over and again not to be sad or offended if his lover mock him.

Jian Kang Lu saw his kitten slowly nod his head. After getting his kitten's approval, he raised his hand and wanted to open that tight knotted bath robe. But his kitten suddenly stopped his paw.

"Let me.. Let me open it by myself, gege."

That slender hand slowly untied the bathrobe. White thick bathrobe soon dropped to the floor.

A handsome man standing with a red face, slightly dropped his head due to his embarrassment. A small red bow tied on his neck. Red ribbons decorate that perfect body, with two fingers wide, it slides across his kitten's shoulder and chest, covering the pink buds, wrapping his kitten's chest and abdomen in a H shape. 

The slender legs wrapped in thin red socks up to his thighs, with thin black ribbon slid on the right thigh. It's a contrast to his kitten milky white jade skin. His kitten wears thin and small underwear.. 

Is it.. Is it a red thong? Jian Kang Lu can only stare foolishly and almost let himself drool like a starving dog.
