The Stars In Your Eyes

To hear the words that you always dreamed to hear, the acknowledgement of your love, uttered by the one you loved so much, sometimes frightened you.

Jian Kang Lu knows that his kitten is so young, so pure, so kind. Sheltered by the loving family and good friends. He doesn't know how cruel people can be in the real world out there.

Humans always tend to think that they're the righteous one. One could find many mistakes from others, but hard to admit their own mistakes.

Just take a look at how much cruel gossip out there, all those bad words easily typed in the internet's forum, slandering the people they thought as a humanity failure. Especially when humans shield behind anonymity.

It's easy to point your finger to someone else, but hard to accept if you're the one that receives all that harsh and mean words. And it's really hard to change people's opinion about you, they don't care about the truth.

Jian Kang Lu saw many of those cases before. There's one girl he knows in his residency. This girl has a boyfriend, not knowing that her boyfriend is a married man. The wife comes to the hospital and creates a ruckus there.

People don't want to know that this girl is actually a victim. They point their finger on this girl, accuse her to be a marriage wrecker. A cheap girl. No matter what she says, no matter how good she was, the stigma is attached.

And stigma is a frightening thing.

This girl finally resigned from the hospital. Jian Kang Lu heard that this girl finally found a good man and happily married years after, but people still talk about this girl until now. And she avoids the hospital's circle because of that. Afraid of what people talk behind her. Afraid of that judgmental eyes.

Jian Kang Lu also knows this one girl from Hongjia's circle. Jian Kang Lu often met this girl when he was still with Wu Shen, attending the party that was filled with models and actors.

Jian Kang Lu also saw many men like him, who love men too. They are proud at first with their partner, and believe they finally found their true love. When it failed, either they shut themselves or changed into someone like this girl. Someone that doesn't believe in love. Someone who believes they don't deserve love. Because people told them so.

Jian Kang Lu doesn't want his kitten to turn into those kinds of people. He wished he could protect his kitten, but he knows that he can't thoroughly protect him from this cruel world.

So, even though he's happy, he doesn't want his kitten someday to regret the decision that he made today.

Jian Kang Lu hugs his kitten, tightly.

"TangTang.. I must be the luckiest man in the world. Maybe I saved a country in my past life, so God repay me by giving me a chance to meet you, to know you."

Then Jian Kang Lu kisses his kitten softly, "But.. I know more about this world than you. I don't want you to regret your choice one day, and hate me because of that."

Jian Kang Lu cupped his kitten's face and looked him in the eye, stare into that pure, vibrant innocent soul behind that shining black marble.

"So, baby.. I don't mind my friends to know about us, and I'm proud to introduce you as my lover to them. Because I know they're wise and could be happy for us. But i don't know if your friends, or your family, could accept me being with you."

Jian Kang Lu kissed his kitten again.

"I love you TangTang.. And I never want to see you suffer because of me."

Bai Yutang knew what Jian Kang Lu said. He himself doesn't have confidence if he had to tell his mother that he had a relationship with a man.

"So.. Could you give me a chance to slowly show them the best side of me first? So if one day they knew about us, they can accept me as someone that loves you so much. And if possible, the best person to stay by your side?"

Bai Yutang nodded, and hugged his lover back. He understands what Jian Kang Lu wants to explain. Even Bai Yutang himself a few months ago was still so afraid if people knew that he liked Jian Kang Lu, so disgusted with himself for thinking about having impure thoughts with a man.

"I understand what you mean, gege. And I also told you the truth that i don't mind if your friends know about me and you.."

Hearing those words with an unfinished tone, Jian Kang Lu asked his kitten while stroking his back. "But..? It seems you still want to say something."

Bai Yutang hides his face in Jian Kang Lu's embrace. "But.. But i don't want you to say that you're single anymore, or say that you will have a date with anyone else…"

Jian Kang Lu was amused to hear that. "Mm.. My baby is jealous of Chang'e Goddess?"

Bai Yutang bit that shoulder lightly. "I won't get jealous with myself, but i really don't like to see those faces that think that they still have a chance with you, because you're single."

Jian Kang Lu is really happy. He knew what his kitten meant.

"Then.. You have to accompany me every Saturday, and told them that my Chang'e Goddess already put me on a leash. Told them that i could never see anyone else except my Chang'e Goddess."

Bai Yutang bit that shoulder again. "Why Chang'e Goddess?? I'm a man!"

Jian Kang Lu touched his kitten's member down there. Tease him. "I know that my baby is a man.. This beautiful seductive thing here is the proof.."

With a loving and warm atmosphere, it was no surprise that they spent the night tangling together again. Bai Yutang really doesn't know why he gets aroused so easily. And the new bedsheets finally prove their usefulness.

They spent their day in happiness. And January came. The winter wind still blew harshly, froze the world outside, and the grey mist lingering for the whole time from Christmas until new year passed. But in their world, spring embraces them with the warmth and the gentle air.

Bai Yutang's scholarship has already been approved since early November, and he prepared all the administration papers to enrol the next semester. Bai Yutang also prepared to go back home.

Initially Bai Yutang wanted to buy a train ticket, since it was a bit cheaper compared to flying by plane in that season. But Jian Kang Lu don't let him do that. With a pleading look, his lover asked him to buy the ticket on Sunday, one week after the winter break.

"I'll miss you so much…" Jian Kang Lu said those words with a suffering tone. Even though his kitten already agreed to delay his holiday break, he still can't imagine how to spend one month without his beloved kitten.

"Gege, my flight is still next week.." Bai Yutang was really helpless to hear those words for the millionth time since one week ago. And it seems he needs to hear those words in another week, and the whole time when he's back to his hometown.

Jian Kang Lu just responded with squirming in his kitten's nape. He really can't imagine sleeping alone again, without his kitten to hold on.

"Then.. How if you visit me there? If you have free time?" Bai Yutang said softly while caressing his lover's silky hair.

Jian Kang Lu was stunned, and happiness spread inside his heart. He actually thought about that many times this week, but afraid that his kitten will reject him. So he was just planning to give him a surprise, say that he has something to do in W city when he shows up there.

"Really? Can i?"

Bai Yutang planted the kiss softly in Jian Kang Lu's temples. This man really didn't match the reserved and cool image he showed to everyone else. But Bai Yutang felt good, only he could see this side of Jian Kang Lu.

"Yes, gege. Come and visit me." Bai Yutang just smiled when he felt his lover tickling his chin again with his hair, snuggling and sniffing his neck even more.

"Baby, tomorrow I took half day leave. Can we have dinner outside? Let's have dinner at Il Mare."

Bai Yutang thought, maybe this man still feels uneasy about his one month absence. So Jian Kang Lu took leave to spend more time with him. Thus he agreed without thinking too much. Besides, he really likes that restaurant which belongs to his lover's friend.

Jian Kang Lu is already searching since last week, what he wants to give to his kitten on their one month anniversary. It doesn't matter if his kitten remembers it or not, but Jian Kang Lu wants to remember the date and celebrate it every month for the rest of his life.

15th.. A beautiful number for him, his lucky number. Because on that day, his kitten finally belonged to him.

Jian Kang Lu thought to give him a ring, but maybe that too much. A wallet? Shoes? Clothes? All of that seems not right. He searched on the internet. And finally settled with one thing.

On Monday, Jian Kang Lu already finished his work and went to the store to pick his order. He also asks the store to engrave that beautiful number, and his kitten initials. 

He didn't put his name on it. Because he knows, even though he wished for his kitten to stay with him forever, but sometimes life is not giving you the things you want the most.

So… If one day his kitten leaves him, he still hopes his kitten will still wear the gift he gave, and still want to remember him once in a while.

Bai Yutang knows Il Mare is very classy, thus he tries to dress as best as he could. Even though he lives together and spends every day with this man, the thought of having a date with his lover still makes his heart beat faster.

He chose an ocean blue turtleneck cashmere sweater, and black blazer paired with black pants. It made him look a bit taller, and not too skinny.

When Jian Kang Lu saw his kitten dressed so well, he couldn't help to hug his kitten from behind and sniff his kitten's scent on his nape.

"Mmmh.. Why is my baby so handsome tonight?"

Bai Yutang could never get used to hearing those words. In this whole world, only Jian Kang Lu said that he was handsome. Bai Yutang didn't know whether those words were just said to make him happy, or whether Jian Kang Lu really had some trouble with his eyes.

But then that sour feeling came back when he remembered that tall handsome man. It seems his lover's eyes were doing just fine years ago.

With that sour feeling, Bai Yutang pushed Jian Kang Lu to take a bath and prepare himself too.

"Gege, take a bath! If you keep hugging me like this, I guarantee we won't have a dinner date outside."

Bai Yutang knows himself well, and knows his lover even better. When Jian Kang Lu hugged and sniffed his neck, he could feel that thing between his lover's thighs harden and poke him from behind.

And that makes his little brother down there hard too…

Jian Kang Lu dejectedly takes a bath in a hurry. But he knows he wants to spend tonight celebrating their one month anniversary with his kitten. So he just took a cold shower, tried to put the beast back inside the cage.

The dinner went well, Jian Kang Lu can't take his eyes away from his kitten the whole time. His kitten truly looks so handsome tonight. His smooth forehead was exposed because his kitten styled his hair to the side. And it makes his beautiful phoenix eyes more prominent, shining bright with the purity and his warm soul.

Bai Yutang noticed that, and sometimes he blushed. When they finished their dinner and chatted while drinking the wine, suddenly Jian Kang Lu said he needed to get something from the car. 

Bai Yutang thought Jian Kang Lu forgot his wallet, so he said, "I bring your card, gege. Why don't we use it to pay first?"

Jian Kang Lu shook his head. "TangTang, I bring my wallet, it's something I forgot. Please wait for a while, okay?"

So Bai Yutang just sipped his wine slowly, looking at the dazzling city under the winter outside. Not for long, suddenly he was surprised with a small black box placed in front of him.

Looking at his cute kitten's bewildered face, Jian Kang Lu really wants to kiss that soft cheek. But he can't do that here.

So he just sat back to his seat, and smiled. "This is for you, I hope you like it."

Bai Yutang confused, this is not his birthday, or any special day. But he knows that it will hurt his lover if he rejects his gift. Moreover, the gift that was already bought and placed in front of him.

So he just opened the box. Inside, there was a black box with a logo from an expensive watch brand. It was not the super luxurious watch brand, but still expensive.

Inside, laid a dark grey titanium watch with deep black dial. The elegance looks balanced to look bold and contrast with striking orange colour flourishes in the dial markings, flange, and hands. The black dial features a concentrically engraved circular pattern.

Bai Yutang was stunned. This watch looks so expensive. He knew this brand sold their cheapest watch at a minimum price of 6000 yuan. And this one definitely costs more than that.

"Do you like it?" Jian Kang Lu asked him softly.

Bai Yutang looked at that face full with expectation. He sighed inside. In truth, he really likes this watch. So he nodded, and was honest with himself.

Jian Kang Lu smiled, and put the watch into his kitten's wrist. He knew it, his kitten would look good wearing anything. And this watch matches his young kitten's energy.

Bai Yutang looked at his lover's slender hand that put the watch on his wrist, then he looked at that gentle smile, and smiled back too.

"Thank you, gege. I love it, so much."
