The Stars In Your Eyes

Right after the plane landed, Jian Kang Lu turned on his mobile phone and sent his kitten a message.

[TangTang, my plane has landed. I'll pick you up right away, please wait for me.]

Jian Kang Lu already booked a car and the driver for today and tomorrow. The driver was already waiting for him at the arrival gate. He took Jian Kang Lu's luggage then led him to the car. It was a similar black SUV with the one Jian Kang Lu used last time when he visited this city.

That time, he attended the funeral of his kitten's father. If Jian Kang Lu remembers his kitten's face that day, his heart still ached. He could understand what his kitten felt at that time. 

Even though he understands, he doesn't know how it feels.. Jian Kang Lu was lucky that both of his parents were still alive and well. That's why he admired his kitten. His lover is a strong man.

Maybe people can't see his kitten the way he looks at him. His kitten looks calm and shy from the outside. A typical good kid from a good family, sheltered for his whole life.

But Jian Kang Lu knew how strong his kitten was. How many young men could get through that kind of situation like his kitten did? His kitten is very tough, and also clear minded. He never surrenders, keeps doing his best for him and his loved one.

That's what makes Jian Kang Lu love his kitten even more. His kitten is very young, but he is definitely one of the people among the people Jian Kang Lu knew for his whole life, that is very consistent with his words and holds his view of life.

And that tough man loved him back.

In the car, his kitten already replied to his message.

[I'll wait for you, gege]

Jian Kang Lu didn't bring food from B city to his kitten's mother and sister. He only brings bird nests for his kitten's mother and jade earrings for his kitten's sister. Earrings and necklaces are doctor's favourite jewellery, because rings and bangles are not comfortable for them.

When Jian Kang Lu arrived at his kitten's house, his kitten was already waiting for him in front of the gate. 

To see his beloved one wearing a dark red coat, beige shirt and light blue jeans standing up in the middle of late winter holding his own arms, trying to warm his skinny body, waiting for him, makes Jian Kang Lu's heart itched.

How could he be so lucky, for this perfect man willing to be his lover.

"Gege.."

His kitten welcomed him when he got down from the car. How he wished he could hug his kitten right now, to erase his suffering from their 14 days separation. He really really missed his kitten so much.

These 14 days he spent are so cold, and lonely. The world without his kitten is forever winter.

Bai Yutang looked at this man that just stared at him, silently, with a loving and yearning gaze. He really misses his lover, but he knows he can't hug him here, in front of his house. He really missed this man, the man that was always kind and gentle to him. That always protected him and loved him.

So Bai Yutang took that slender hand, that beautiful hand that likes to caress him, hold him carefully, like protecting his most treasured thing.

Bai Yutang took that hand, and led Jian Kang Lu into his house. He can feel the fingers inside his grip caressing his palm. Softly, and Bai Yutang felt like a feather tickling his heart.

"Mom, Jian Ge is here."

Lu Hua saw that handsome tall man wearing the black shirt and grey coat walking inside with her son holding his hand. It seems her son really likes this friend of his. Lu Hua herself also likes this man so much. Really a good example for a son that every mother wants to have.

Polite, smart, successful, and very elegant. No wonder her son admired this man so much. Lu Hua still remembers how this man visited them on the days her husband laid in the ICU. Remember that, makes Lu Hua's hollow heart tighten, and the dried gland that won't shed tears anymore feels hurt.

"Welcome, did you just arrive?" Lu Hua forced herself to display a smile.

Jian Kang Lu replied politely and gave her the bird nest he brought. After that decent small talk, Bai Yutang told her mother that he will be going out with Jian Kang Lu for a while. At that time, Bai Yuren went down and greeted them.

Jian Kang Lu gave her the jade earrings that made Bai Yuren's eyes brightened. It's been a while since someone gave her a fancy pretty thing. Since her father died, she never bought any accessories or jewellery anymore. Not even clothes or shoes.

Jian Kang Lu is not a dense man. He really wants to be selfish and spend this precious time with his kitten alone. But when he saw that fake smile plastered on Lu Hua's face, his future mother in law's face, Jian Kang Lu felt uneasy.

And now to see that bitter smile from Bai Yuren, and that melancholy voice when she told them to have fun, really stir his conscience. So finally Jian Kang Lu swallows his greed and says to these two women, "Auntie, Yuren, why don't we all go together and have dinner with me? I will be very happy if you want to accompany me."

Lu Hua hurriedly waved her hand, "No no, how could we bother you?"

Bai Yutang was also stunned to hear that. Deep inside, he wanted to spend this time alone with his lover, he really really missed this man so much. Never occurred in his mind that separated from the one you loved will bring this much suffering.

That makes him regret even more to remember the time that he left Jian Kang Lu in the dark and hiding away after his father's death.

Bai Yutang also knows that this man missed him so much too. So when he heard that, Bai Yutang knew how much this man sacrificed his own wishes to invite her mother and her sister.

Jian Kang Lu smiled, "It's just a casual dinner and visit. I really don't have anything important this afternoon. After all, I want to talk more with auntie and Bai Yuren. So if we could go together, it would be great."

Bai Yuren said nothing, but Lu Hua and Bai Yutang could see that she really wanted to go. So Lu Hua surrendered. She also hates to be alone in this lonely house. A warm house that turns cold without Bai Haoran inside.

The four of them are strolling in the shopping mall. Bai Yutang had to hold Jian Kang Lu's hand again to prevent him from buying many things for his sister. But this round he loses, because he also doesn't have the heart to see his sister's eyes. The eyes that longing to buy pretty things just like when their father is still alive.

Jian Kang Lu told him in a pleading whisper, "This is not expensive at all, can't you just let me raise my value in front of my future sister in law?"

Thus Bai Yutang surrendered, and let her sister happily try on some clothes. Bai Yuren is really sensible. She only bought one red flowery dress, and one cute shirt with cats printed in the back.

Bai Yutang's heart constricted when he heard Bai Yuren happily whisper to him. "Gege, i'll use this dress on the new year."

How could he forget that they haven't prepared anything for Chinese New Year? Because of that, he let Jian Kang Lu buy his sister a pair of shoes and purse to match the dress.

Lu Hua politely rejects the offer when Jian Kang Lu wants to buy her the similar purse. She really doesn't want to celebrate Chinese New Year. The first new year she'll spend without Bai Haoran.

Bai Yutang could not win the argument when Bai Yuren and Jian Kang Lu formed a team to attack him. So finally he just let them choose a light pink shirt for him . Bai Yuren said that he should wear this on Chinese New Year. But he sternly refused to buy shoes. Jian Kang Lu already bought him so many shoes before.

They have dinner at H cafe, located in one of the 5 star hotels in W city. They have many food varieties and the place is also very nice. The big glasses dome let them see the sky outside, with trees inside the restaurant. Giving an impression that they dine under the stars.

Because it was buffet dinner, sometimes Jian Kang Lu stood so close to his kitten, just tried to feel the warmth emitted from his kitten body, and maybe he could be lucky to smell his kitten's scent.

These beast of him tried to struggle free from the cage, when Jian Kang Lu saw Bai Yutang standing up from his seat, and walked to the seafood section. He could see that round butt clearly in front of his eyes.

Looking at that skinny waist, and round butts covered in jeans, make Jian Kang Lu want to strip his kitten naked. Grope, squeeze, knead.. Lick him from head to toe. And just eat his kitten whole.

This makes Jian Kang Lu glued to his seat for the rest of the dinner. He could not stand up, afraid for his future mother and sister in law saw something indecent.

Lu Hua asks him where he stays. When she heard that Jian Kang Lu stayed in the hotel near their house, Lu Hua told him that next time, just stay at their house rather than in the hotel. She even nags her son for being insensible.

That makes Jian Kang Lu's beast finally laid docile in the cage, and not make a ruckus anymore. Jian Kang Lu happily accepted the offer. He delightedly said that next week when he visits again, he will definitely stay at their house.

Jian Kang Lu is also curious and wants to see his kitten's room. The place where his kitten spent his youth. The time before Jian Kang Lu.

They spent the dinner lively. Bai Yutang really holds his gratitude for his lover. It's been too long for them not to spend their time like this anymore. He could see his sister very happy, and his mother could laugh several times. A real laugh, not the fake one.

When they walk to the car, Bai Yutang's hand holds Jian Kang Lu's hand in the back, and caresses his palm. Then he whispers into Jian Kang Lu's ear.

"Gege.. Thank you so much for tonight."

To suddenly hear that sweet voice whispering in his ear, a wisp of that musk and cedar wood scent, and light caress on his palm, woke the beast again. Jian Kang Lu really wants to hold his kitten. He missed him so much.

So Jian Kang Lu whispers to him back.

"Baby, could you spend tonight with me?"
