Chapter 7.12 – What’s The Point Of Crossdressing? (1)

After separating, the atmosphere grew awkward. Xiang Han noticed a small tent in his lower body and hardened his scalp. “About that… both kisses have been given. Good night.”

Meanwhile, Meng Ze’s head was a mess. He wanted to say something but saw Xiang Han carefully avoid him, as if afraid of revealing something. Thus, he could only hold back.

Hesitating for a moment, he finally sighed. “Alright, rest early.”

They had just confirmed their relationship, so it was better to wait a couple of days. He should at least wait until Xiao Han trusted him, unlike his current cautious attitude.

Depressed, Meng Ze returned to his room and once more, regretted breaking off their engagement.

Xiang Han sighed in relief after he left and jumped onto the bed, rolling over a couple of times. Then, he awkwardly said, [Can you guys… turn on the censor for a bit?]

Coincidentally, the film had finished downloading just in time for him to solve a certain issue.

After returning to City A, Xiang Han grew busier because Meng Ze would call for him whenever, under the guise of work, to create opportunities for them to be together.

At the start, he could still accept it, but after a few times, he couldn’t bear it. Especially since Assistant Fang stared at him bitterly, as if he would soon lose his job.

One afternoon, Xiang Han and Meng Ze were having lunch. Less than half an hour after returning, the other person called.

Xiang Han was interrupted halfway through his erotic film and inevitably felt annoyed.

System, who was earnestly working for him, detected that its host was trying to regain control and panicked. [Wait, there’s just a few calculations left. I’m almost done.]

Xiang Han: […] What a hardworking child. It even got addicted to working.

In the short span of half a day, Xiang Han was called in over ten times and could no longer endure. So he simply continued watching his film as the system finished its work.

Currently, Meng Ze was waiting anxiously with a frown etched on his face. Once he heard a knock, he immediately schooled his expression and feigned calm. He paused for a few seconds and lowered his head to look at the document before saying, “Come in.”

Xiang Han could tell he was acting and pursed his lips. But after entering, he immediately put on a formal smile. “President Meng, you were looking for me?”

“Yeah.” Meng Ze nodded. “Help me get a cup of coffee.”

Xiang Han rolled his eyes and silently ridiculed: I’ve already helped you get one half an hour ago. Aren’t you afraid of needing to go to the restroom from drinking so much?

Without any mood to look at the document, Meng Ze had been secretly observing him and clearly saw this small action. When Xiang Han returned with the coffee, Meng Ze suddenly pulled him into his embrace and rested his chin on his shoulders. “Why did you roll your eyes earlier?”

Xiang Han was forced to sit on his thighs. He struggled to get up but was pressed back down and laughed angrily. “President Meng, are you very idle?”

“It’s fine, there’s nothing much.” Meng Ze answered with a frown before growing solemn. “Do you have any plans for the weekend? I heard from Fang Hao, there’s a new…”

“Stop!” Xiang Han immediately interrupted him. “President Meng, it is office hours now.”

“You don’t have to call me that in private. Just call me… by my name.” Meng Ze’s focus was completely on the wrong thing. Moreover, he wanted Xiang Han to call him ‘husband’ instead.

Xiang Han sighed and gave a small smile. “President Meng, from this morning to now, you’ve called me more than ten times for nothing. Having me run all over isn’t just interfering with my work, it’s also… very tiring.”

For a moment, Meng Ze grew solemn. “In that case, you should move into my office.”

Xiang Han was instantly dumbfounded, only to hear Meng Ze continue, “If you’re very tired, you can take a nap in the break room. Also, did Assistant Fang give you too much work?”

“He didn’t, he didn’t. I’m not tired at all.” Who on earth is the one giving him so much trouble? Did Meng Ze seriously not know?

Xiang Han could only tearfully exert a great deal of strength to get up.

Meng Ze watched him leave in a hurry and felt disappointed, but quickly consoled himself: Maybe he really had a lot of work to do.

With this in mind, he picked up the phone and called Assistant Fang over.

Midway through the interview with Xin Lu Yao, Assistant Fang hung up and said, “President Meng is calling me over. You should come too, so you can tell him directly if you have anything to say.”

Therefore, Xiang Han returned to the office and was surprised to see Xin Lu Yao.

After arriving at Meng Ze’s office, Assistant Fang didn’t have time to introduce Xin Lu Yao before he heard the other person ask, “Did you assign a lot of work to Secretary Geng lately?”

“Not really, it’s the same as usual,” Assistant Fang replied doubtfully.

“There’s quite a lot of work recently which requires Secretary Geng’s help. In the future, assign less work to her.” Meng Ze instructed while signing a document.

“…Understood.” Assistant Fang nodded, feeling his doubt grow. President Meng has been quite idle recently, how was he busy?

Xin Lu Yao immediately guessed the reason and couldn’t help but secretly snicker.

After reviewing the document, Meng Ze coincidentally raised his head and met her gaze. With an unconscious frown, he asked, “Miss Xin?”

“Ahem.” Assistant Fang came back to his senses and quickly introduced her. “This is our recently hired designer, Miss Xin Lu Yao. President Meng should know her.”

Recalling how his boss had been wanting to poach her for a while and finally succeeded, Assistant Fang’s pitch couldn’t help but grow higher.

Meng Ze’s lips hooked up. He did want to poach Xin Lu Yao in the past, but now… Nevermind, since he had already poached her. Moreover, the design department was one level below, it’d be hard to have any contact with Secretary Geng.

Despite attempting to comfort himself, Meng Ze couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable. After work, this feeling became a reality.

Ever since he entered a relationship with Xiang Han, Meng Ze had never worked overtime. Today, he got off 10 minutes earlier than usual and made a reservation at a restaurant before calling Xiang Han. However, Xiang Han apologetically notified him that he had to attend the design department’s welcome dinner.

Meng Ze’s mood was akin to gloomy clouds abruptly covering the clear sky. “You’re not part of the design department.”

“But it’s Xiao Yao’s first day. She specially invited me over…”

Meng Ze’s mood changed, the gloomy clouds instantly became thunder. However, Xiang Han’s tone seemed quite happy so he could only endure.

The next day, before the end of work, Meng Ze called Xiang Han 20 minutes earlier. He never expected to hear Xiang Han apologise, “About that… Xiao Yao already asked me to go eat Sichuan food and I agreed…”

“Oh, alright, then… have fun.” Meng Ze hung up expressionlessly. In the next second, he called the design department. “Is your department very idle of late? Can you finish the drafts by the end of the month? If you can’t, work overtime!”

Head of design: “…”

On the third day, Meng Ze called two hours earlier than before. Once again, Xiang Han stammered, “Uh, today I…”

“Alright, got it. Have fun.” Meng Ze hung up and went downstairs with a dark face.

Things shouldn’t exceed three times. That woman was too much.

Having the call cut, Xiang Han was rather stunned. He hadn’t had the time to tell him that Father Geng wanted him to go back tonight, yet Meng Ze already knew? He couldn’t have misunderstood it as Xin Lu Yao, right?

A moment later, Xin Lu Yao ranted on WeChat: Ah ah ah, the Meng guy has gone crazy. He came over to my department and vetoed our draft. We have to work overtime and change it, I’m so mad!

Xiang Han: … Pity.

Xiang Han didn’t expect the female lead to job hop over to Ze Yuan, but he wasn’t worried either since Meng Ze had already agreed to be with him. The most important thing now was to convert these H manhua he had found into animated films and send them to a certain person’s Wechat…ahem.

After work, Xiang Han entrusted this task to the system before happily heading home for dinner.

System: […] It didn’t want to look at it, alright.

Xiang Han ate at Father Geng’s place before heading back. Before falling asleep, he sent several videos over to Meng Ze, then waited for a reply.

For three days, Meng Ze had failed to get a date with Xiang Han, so he was unusually depressed and decided to simply stay in his office. By the time he saw the message, two hours had passed.

He grew nervous upon seeing so many messages from Xiang Han and almost assumed something happened. He quickly opened it up, then…

He saw a row of animated gifs. The frame contained several cute cartoon girls.

When a row of cute girls lifted their skirts, Meng Ze nearly threw his phone away.

Under the messages, there was a conspicuous sentence: I just saw some very interesting anime, do you want to watch? I’ll send it to you if you do [smile][smile]

Meng Ze stroked the corners of his phone and thought to himself: Actually… I’d rather look at you.

Returning to reality, he quickly understood this was most likely Xiang Han’s way of testing him. Xiang Han had begun to trust him, so he should seize this opportunity.

With this in mind, Meng Ze quickly wanted to FaceTime him, but abruptly stopped in the midst of dialling his number.

He can’t. This matter can’t be cleared up over the phone. He should go over and explain.

Having decided, Meng Ze rushed downstairs and drove over to Xiang Han’s residence.

But halfway there, he suddenly recalled that Xiang Han returned to the Geng Family’s home today and was unlikely to be at his apartment. Moreover, it was nearly 1 a.m. and he was most likely to be asleep. This didn’t seem to be the best time for discussing such a matter.

A moment of hesitation later, Meng Ze changed his direction and decided to confess tomorrow.

He had problems sleeping that night and was late to work the next day. When he reached the office, he found that Xiang Han had already left.

“Where did Secretary Geng go?” Meng Ze massaged his throbbing headache.

“I think she went with Assistant Fang to Si Chuang,” Nina said after thinking for a bit.

“Si Chuang?” Meng Ze’s voice abruptly raised, his expression overtaken by surprise.

“T-That’s right.” Nina was puzzled

Si Chuang? That was the Geng Family’s company!

Meng Ze immediately grew flustered. “Did Secretary Geng know they were going to Si Chuang?”

“Uh, probably not at the time. It’s because there weren’t enough people, so she went along to fill in the numbers but Assistant Fang would definitely brief her about it on the way…”

“Alright, alright. You may leave.” Meng Ze waved her away, his head hurting.

Looking at the time, he reckoned they must have arrived at Si Chuang by now. Hopefully, Xiao Han’s excellent make-up skills could fool Mr Geng. No way, how could Mr Geng not recognise the son he’d raised for over 20 years? In that case, he could only pray that Mr Geng was at home, recuperating from his fractured limb… Sigh….

The more he thought, the worse his headache became. He couldn’t relax and simply decided to drive over to Si Chuang.

Father Geng’s company focused on interior design and had frequent business dealings with Ze Yuan. The two companies were not far from each other and by the time Xiang Han knew where they were going, the car reached the entrance of Si Chuang.

Seeing his face of great bitterness, Assistant Fang thought it was due to anxiety and comforted him, “Actually, it’s not a big deal. We will just discuss some matters and you only need to listen.”

Xiang Han’s face was still green. As they were getting out of the car, he suddenly said, “I don’t feel well. Can I…not go?”

“At this time?” Assistant Fang looked at the office building behind and hesitated. “Is it very serious? Can you hang on? If it is, I’m afraid it won’t be convenient for you to go back on your own, but I can’t leave at the moment…”

“Don’t worry, I’ll just rest in the car.”

“Alright.” Assistant Fang reluctantly agreed, “You can pass the file to Xiao Zhou.”

“Oh, okay.” Xiang Han quickly nodded. As he passed the document over, a black car suddenly pulled up behind them.

Someone got out of the car and went to the car boot to retrieve a wheelchair. After setting it up, he helped Father Geng over.

Before leaving, Assistant Fang left a few words of instructions out of worry. Father Geng’s wheelchair coincidentally passed them by and felt the assistant was rather familiar. He looked up and not so coincidentally, met Xiang Han’s eyes.

Xiang Han immediately withered and Father Geng also froze. “You…”

This lady was so similar to Xiao Han!

Xiang Han returned to his senses and hurriedly turned around, his voice filled with urgency, “In that case, I’ll be leaving first…”

“Wait a moment.” Father Geng’s voice suddenly came from behind. Because Xiang Han turned around, he suddenly saw the two moles behind his ears. The placement and distance was exactly the same as his son’s.

Xiang Han’s cold sweat almost drenched his forehead. Hearing this only made him speed up his actions of getting into the car.

Assistant Fang saw Father Geng’s reaction and was puzzled. He laughed politely, “President Geng, that’s our company’s secretary.”

“Your company’s secretary?” Father Geng sank into silence. “Name?”

“Oh, she has the same surname as you, she’s called Geng Han.”

Assistant Fang grew more doubtful. When Xiang Han heard this, he simply wanted to facepalm and sigh.

“Geng Han?” Father Geng emphasised each word through gritted teeth. “What a coincidence.”
