"There are too many traps here..."

 Sophia makes a sour face for the second time today.

We explored several particular rooms after the nightmare-type mental magic room, and most of the traps were quite powerful, probably because there are many valuable items.

In the past hour, we came across all kinds of things, from the type that I was familiar with when I was a hero, to those that were a little strange, but they weren't that much of a threat to me and Sophia.

Not only for me, who wasted two previous lives, but also for Sophia, who seems to have a relatively long life as an elf, and on top of that, we could also easily to deal with any traps even if it was the first time we came across them. 

The reason why Sophia has a sour face is that there are many traps, but they are the opposite of the nightmarish room we previously came  across. 

Nightmares are worse, aren't they?  Some people may think so, but happy dreams are worse in a sense.

If it's a dream where you can meet the deceased, it's possible that you can sleep forever and then die.

Well, in addition to it, it can switch from a happy dream to a nightmare and vice versa, it can switch from a nightmare to a happy dream and make you take in that dream without questioning it, so mental magic is troublesome.

By the way, happy dream type traps have basically no effect on me.

In my previous life, I didn't have the brains to imagine what happiness would be like for me, and in this life, it's probably because I'm too happy now that it's difficult for me to dream of it.

That's why I was surprised when Sophia, who got caught in the trap just now, had released herself from the spell in a few seconds and have a bitter look on her face.

Demon beasts――that refers to creatures with a different nature than monsters.

Monsters are creatures with magical powers that exist in the natural world, but demon beasts are beings born from magical powers.

It is said that they are not normally born in this world, but only in a special place called the demon world.

Their strength is overwhelming, and it is nearly impossible for ordinary humans to go after them.

"Sirius, do you think we can escape?"

 "It's not impossible, but I think it is better to break this."

Fortunately, the magic beast summoned for us, the intruders, is a strong one, so there is some lag until the summoning is completed.

It's easy to escape, but by looking at the magic circle's formula, it is one-way summoning.

In short, even if we escape, it is certain the summoning will continue, and if such a being appears, my territory may also be damaged.

It's not my intention to hurt the people of the territory, and besides, I have to protect the important place where I will live with Philia and the others.

It will be difficult, but it's probably quicker to handle it properly here.

While I was thinking about such things, Freya-chan, the phoenix that I brought with me, spread her wings with enthusiasm.

I left the Queen and Knight in the house, but Freya-chan was sitting on my head, making sure I never left her behind.

In spite of that, she was dozing on top of my head until a while ago, but she woke up with the presence of a powerful-looking Demon beast, and she wants to fight it from how she is reacting.

To be honest, if it is Freya-chan, the majority of demon beast would die with a single blow... but it would be better not to do that.

 Freya-chan is just a small bird when she's above my head, but if she exerts her strength as a phoenix, no matter how much she restrains her power, this underground collapsing will be a matter of time.

 As I was calming down the enthusiastic Freya-chan, the summoning was completed, and a demon beast appeared on the spot in a burst of light.

"Uwaa...Cerberus huh..."

 As you all know, the watchdog of hell is a dog-like monster with three heads.

I thought it was black when I saw it before, but it looks great and colorful in black and white.

"Is it just one?"

 "Sirius, have you seen it before?"

 "Yes"

Although not in this life, I have fought twice in my previous life.

 Well, I don't really want to fight it, it's fast, sturdy, and troublesome.

As I was thinking that, Sophia stepped forward a little.

 "I can't let the lord die here."

She looks calmer than I expected, but she seems to be breaking into a cold sweat due to the unique pressure that the demon beast gives off.

Well, that's right.

Demon beasts give a big mental burden just by facing them, and even if she is  an elf and strong, demon beasts are scary.

I quietly hold Sophia hand and slowly ask.

 "Sophia, let's talk about the rewards here. Were you serious about being mine?"

"... Are you talking about that now?"

 "Because, you are recklessly rushing at Cerberus like you were going to die."

The summoned Cerberus seems to be watching over us until we completely enter the area, probably because of an order from the spell.

So, I decided to ask Sophia what I wanted to ask without any reservations.

"Here, I don't think your sister will look  like it if you decide to join her like this. I think you know that too."

 I don't want to pry into her past too much, but it gives a bad aftertaste to ignore someone who's despondent and goes on a suicide attack.

  Of course, I don't want to deny people decision, but I can't just leave someone creates a chain of unhappiness on their own.

  “I heard that Salte also talked more with Sophia."

  "... Really, you are weird."

Sophia said with a chuckle 

After seeing that, I slowly approach Cerberus.

Every time I get closer, the intimidating feeling peculiar to demon beasts… or rather, something like pressure grows, but it didn't affect me, who have experienced it many times.

Before long, after reducing the distance separating us by half.

As if some conditions were met, Cerberus approaches me in a blink of an eye and thrusts its fangs into my body, trying to bite me off with its fangs.

  "Garraaa!  !  !  !"

A sound like metal hitting each other was heard.

In front of me was Cerberus, with a bloody mouth.

Thump!  With that dull sound, a large amount of blood fell along Cerberus' fangs, which it must have been proud of.

And I, who should have been eaten, was just standing there without any particular injuries.

In order to slow down Cerberus' speed, I focused on defense first.

It is my original defensive magic that combines several defensive magics, not only it did not lose to Cerberus's strong fangs, but rather demonstrated its power by shattering the fangs.

Cerberus looks at me with pain and hatred.

 I thrust countless blades of ice into Cerberus, who was on the verge of attacking, and blocked his movement.

Cerberus lets out a sharp roar.

 To show my respect for the figure that is still trying to show its power, I activate the last magic.

"'Frozen world'"

 A deadly magic against Cerberus.

 The magic named "Frozen world" can freeze any demon beast.

And there is another feature of this magic.

 After a short time, the frozen Cerberus crumbles down into snowflakes and disappears.

And like that, the battle with Cerberus came to an end after what seemed like a long time, but in truth was less than a few.
