The Universe Conspired For Us To Meet

The next day when Ronnie woke he saw Jayne sleeping in his arms. The sun rays were trying to enter the room through the closed curtains but in vain. Ronnie checked the bedside clock and it was almost half past seven in the morning.

It was getting late for her college and she'd miss her class if he didn't wake her up. But seeing her sleep so peacefully, he didn't have the heart to wake her. Hence, he got up and showered since he had a meeting that morning to brief the highlights of his visits to India.

He quickly wrote a note, "It's such a tough decision to make every morning, to choose work over you, as my sleeping beauty draws me towards her. But sorry baby, I've a very important meeting. I'll see you soon wifey! Have a lovely day as lovely as you are!♡" He placed it with a rose on the bedside table, pulled up the comforter to make her feel better. He didn't forget to kiss her before leaving.

Jayne woke up very late. Without opening her eyes she touched the part of the bed next to her, but found it empty. The corners of her mouth twitched and she pouted, "Ronnnn!"

But, she didn't hear an answer. She stretched her hands to reach the bedside clock. But along with the clock, she found something soft. She turned her head in its direction and found a red rose and a note with it. She grabbed them all.

She first checked the time. It was almost twelve in the noon. She instantly got up, the colour in her face drained.

Before she could speak anything else she could only manage to scream, "Ah!"

She was sore and in spite of that she got up so quickly that it hurt. She couldn't do anything about it. She silently cursed her husband for her current state.

She then slept for some more time after which she felt hungry. So, she got up but more carefully this time and walked towards the washroom to freshen up. She decided to have a bubble bath since she was anyway late and had missed her class. She'd to go back to the company later. So, she thought a hot bubble bath would relax her.

She carefully chose a turtleneck pull-over and teamed it up with an ankle-length formal pants which was perfectly fitting her. She didn't want to wear anything revealing since she herself didn't know where all Ronnie had left his marks.

She went to the the old mansion and found both her in-laws and her parents at the dining table, sitting down to eat. She greeted them, "Good noon moms and dads!" she was beaming.

"Our daughter is here! Come over and have lunch first." Maya's mom shouted.

"Yes mom! I'm famished. Feed me!" Jayne began acting all spoilt.

Immediately Ms Sona Bhat came over with a plate full of food and began feeding her like she used to do when she was young. Her eyes glistened but she fought back her tears and plastered a smile on her face.

After having her fill, Jayne left to the company while her parents went sight-seeing.

At the company, Jayne thought of personally checking on the progress of all the departments. She headed directly to the Production Department. Since she was having the best of her days, she happily hummed a song and greeted everyone on the way.

"Ma'am seems to be in a very good mood," said an employee happily.

"So obvious! I heard Sir is back from his foreign trip," another colleague winked at her.

Though Jayne heard them, she didn't stop them but blushed instead. She smacked her forehead and walked further.

She halted midway in her tracks when she heard some vague sounds.
