The Unsurpassed Maiden

"What do I have to do?" Mi Young asks, suddenly getting nervous.

"Just offer it a drop of your blood and place it on the surface." The man says. He was about to say more but then one of the walls of the room where their cells are located suddenly opens, revealing  three soldiers, the purple haired girl, and a man wearing a suit. Mi Young didn't know what to do but then the man on the other cell suddenly extended his arms and gripped Kwang Soo's neck. "You heard me?! Go away and don't bother me anymore!!!"

Mi Young was so shocked with the sudden change in the man's behavior but then he saw Kwang Soo's face and that's when she realized they were trying to act so the soldiers and the newcomers wouldn't know that they were talking about something important earlier.

"Let go of him!" Mi Young says while trying to rip away the man's hands from Kwang Soo's neck, who was looking like he was really scared of the man.

Out of the corner in her eyes, Mi Young sees the man wearing a suit instructing the soldiers to keep breaking off the fight. One of the soldiers entered the man's cell.

"Sir, get your hands off of him or I will have to use force." The soldier says.

The man didn't spare him any glance as he continued choking Kwang Soo. Mi Young was scared he would really kill her senior, the boy's face was already getting bluer and he's losing some air.

"Sir! Let go of him or—"

The buff man from the other cell suddenly lets go of the black haired girl's senior. Mi Young immediately went beside Kwang Soo to check if he was okay, but then the next events made her stop in surprise.

The soldier who was pointing his weapon at the buff man earlier was suddenly lifted from the floor, and in the blink of an eye he was smashed to the ground like he was nothing. Mi Young swore she heard the soldier's neck snapping when his head hit the floor first. The man repeated his action thrice until the once white floor turned red because of the soldier's blood.

Mi Young notices Kwang Soo getting up from where he was thrown and is now gawking at the man with eyes wide and mouth hanging open, Mi Young doesn't need to look at the mirror to know that she was wearing the same expression as her senior. What they saw just now was something gruesome and unexpected.

The silence that came after that was so early that it made Mi Young's skin crawl, and her heart pounding like crazy in her chest, the black haired girl was so sure Kwang Soo could hear the thumping of her heart.

"I see." The man in a suit starts to say while his eyes are fixed on the buff man who was already sitting on the corner of his cell like nothing happened. The man's voice was cold and sinister when he continued talking, "You're still the same as always, Jang Hoon."

The man smirks at the man with the suit. "You know me. I told you thousands of times already that I don't like your men stepping foot inside my cell."

"You act as if you own that cell." Su Yeon scoffs while looking at the man with hatred.

The man, Jang Hoon they say, averts his eyes from the man in the suit and towards the purple haired girl. Mi Young noticed how Su Yeon's body stiffened for a second when Jang Hoon found her eyes. "This midget again?"

"I am not small!" Su Yeon exclaims while looking at the man with an icy glare.

"Calm down, Su Yeon." The man wearing a suit says while giving Su Yeon a cold stare. This immediately made the purple haired girl stop talking. She whispered a small apology before she stood on the man's side while her head was hanging low.

Then the man looks at Jang Hoon again. "I believe that you already know that if you do that again, I will have to restrain you."

"Restrain me all you want." Jang Hoon says before he buried his head on his crossed arms.

Mi Young thought that the little scene in front of her was already finished but then the other soldier suddenly started shouting at the man in the suit.

"That's it?! Aren't you going to punish him for what he did?! That man he just killed right now was my older brother!!" The soldier says while looking at the man in front of him. He then throws an angry finger at the buff man inside the cell. "That man deserves to die!!"

The man in the suit remained calm as the soldier continued shouting. He was crying and saying something about his older brother's kids waiting for him at home and that he didn't deserve to die when he was only doing his job.

Mi Young looks at the man in the suit and sees him leaning a little towards Su Yeon as if he was asking her something. The black haired girl sees Su Yeon nod her head before she raises her hands, and in a blink of an eye, the soldier who was crying out earlier was suddenly zapped from where he was standing.

The only thing that remained of him was his ash and the small smoke coming from his remains.

Mi Young gulped while looking at the pile of ashes where the soldier once stood. Then, she looks at Su Yeon who was already looking at her.

Su Yeon smirks before she leans closer towards Mi Kyung and Kwang Soo's cell, "You like what you saw? You like violence right? Do you want to experience my lightning or do you prefer my kicks more?"

The black haired girl grits her teeth despite the loud pounding of her heart. She spats at the floor before saying, "Why don't we fight under fair terms and now with you only attacking me when I have some stupid anti-magic handcuffs on me? Or are you too scared to do so?"

This immediately made the other party grit in anger. She was about to step inside Mi Young's cell but then the man in the suit suddenly puts his hands on Su Yeon's shoulder, completely stopping her from doing so.

"Su Yeon, I thought I told you to behave?"

Su Yeon's eye was still glaring at Mi young but then she bows her head and went back to standing behind the man in the suit. "I'm sorry, Sir."

"Good. Now, I hope you understand that you must not lay your hands on our newest specimens? They are precious and we need them to be as healthy as possible so our experiments can be successful." The man says with a small smile on his face.

Mi Young wanted to throw up upon hearing what the man just said. She never wanted to be someone's specimen for a stupid experiment nor she would allow someone to touch and use her body for their evil ways. She would do anything just to get out of this prison.

The black haired girl was about to say something but then Kwang Soo stops her by calmly placing his bigger hands over Mi Young's. When the black haired girl looks at her senior, she sees the warning signal in the man's eyes.

After that, Mi Young finally calmed down as she looked at the pile of ash just right outside their cell once more. Kwang Soo is right, she should focus on controlling her new ability first or else she would be dust in no time.

The man in the suit clears his throat which made Mi Young look up to him. "I'm sorry for my rude behavior. My name is Second. Well, it's not really my real name but that's what they call me here. I am the Second in command and the Second ranking High Lord of this city. I believe Su Yeon already told you about our plans for this city and the Mana Shell. And I do hope you give up on trying tos steal it away from us since, well…you're there."

The black haired girl wanted nothing but to punch the man right on his face. He even had the audacity to send an apologetic smile towards Mi Young and Kwang Soo.

The man continued talking about how the cells are made up of magical barriers, which Mi Young already knew so she didn't listen to any of his words anymore as she just continued observing the man.

He looked like he was just around Mi Young's father's age and for some reason, his face reminded Mi Youn g of someone. However, no matter how hard she tried to recognize the man's face, a name doesn't come to her mind.

The black haired girl cocks her head to the side as she tries to dig deeper inside her memories. Where the hell did she see this man?

As the man continued to talk, Mi Young's mind went into a trance. She doesn't know what got into her but she suddenly couldn't control her mouth and the words just keep on coming out without her knowing why,

"Are you happy with what you have achieved so far, Ji Han?"
