The Unsurpassed Maiden

Mi Young freezes. She doesn't know what's going on around her until the soldier pulls her towards the exit door she was about to open only to realize that it was a dead end and there was nothing there.

The black haired girl didn't even have the time to digest everything around her when the soldier suddenly spoke.

"What are you doing here?"

For some reason, the voice behind the helmet sounds familiar. Mi Young, who still doesn't know how the soldier can see her, scratches her head and answers, "How can you see me?"

Instead of answering her, the soldier takes off his helmet, revealing the face of a handsome young man. "How can I not be immune to that kind of spell?"

"Who are you? And why aren't you calling your superiors?" Mi Young questions.

"Why would I call them?" The soldier asks, sounding genuinely confused.

Mi Young points at herself, "Because a prisoner managed to escape?"

The soldier chuckles before he says some words that sounded foreign and ancient to Mi Young's ears. When he was done, he looked up at Mi Young and smiled.

"Holy sh*t!" Mi Young exclaims as she looks at the person in front of her. "Hae Choon! I thought you were gone!"

The man chuckles as he ruffles the black haired girl's hair. "I'm not that easy to catch."

"How did you manage to do it anyway?"

"What? Hide?"

"That and everything, How were you able to disappear that fast?" The young student asks.

The moment I saw who was inside the elevator, even though I didn't know your friend I was certain that Su Yeon girl was an enemy. So, even though it was kind of selfish of me, I immediately teleported as far as I could to hide from those guys." Hae Choon explains. He sends an apologetic smile at Mi Young before continuing his explanation. "There was a series of alarms that sounded everywhere which I think was meant to make the soldier find me. I didn't know what happened to you guys not until two soldiers went inside the empty room where I was hiding, and it turned out it was their shared bedroom. I took that as an opportunity to attack them. That face you saw earlier was the face of one of the soldiers I attacked."

"Was that some kind of spell?"

"Uhn. I can teach you that once we're done here." Hae Choon says with a smile. "Anyway, I heard you were locked up with another prisoner and that prisoner keeps on killing anyone who gets closer to his cell. Everyone was talking about how he managed to turn the female prisoner to dust and that the male prisoner was about to get killed if not for that one soldier coming inside their cells to check on them.

Mi Young was about to open her mouth to explain her side but Hae Choon continued talking. "However, I immediately knew that you have some sort of a plan because I know you wouldn't just let someone turn you into dust just like that. I may not have known you for a long time but your willpower is much stronger than that."

"But how do you explain the fact that you can see despite my spell?" The black haired girl asks, more like whining since it bothers her that someone was able to see through the spell.

"First, your cloaking magic is not that strong yet so I'm guessing it has just been hours since you managed to learn that spell. And second, I told you already that I am immune to that." The taller party says while he crosses his arms and gives Mi Young a sly smile. "I'm not that easy to deceive."

Mi Young raises her eyebrows at him, "Really? Then how were you able to fall for Su Yeon's lies earlier?"

This immediately made Hae Choon's smile wear off. He looks at My Young with a blank expression before he crosses his arms , ready to defend himself. "Well, that girl is really cunning! I fell for her words immediately."

"Whatever, let's stop talking about her. At least now we know that she has the Electro ability." Mi Young says with a shrug. "Anyway, tell me more about—"

"Wait, why does she have the Electro element?" Hae Choon asks in a shocked voice. "Was she also a descendant?"

Mi Young shakes her head gently. "She's just an experiment. A vessel to be exact. They stole an element from the real descendant and put it inside her."

"That's…sad." Hae Choon comments. "But that doesn't justify her actions."

"I know. That's why I want to make sure that before we leave, this headquarters will go down as well." Mi Young says with pure anger.

"Hey, chill out. We can do this." Hae Choon says. He was about to say something to Mi Young again but the moment he was about to open his mouth, another series of alarms started reverberating all over the place. "Sh*t. I need to go."

"Why? What's that?"

"I still need to pretend to be one of their soldiers."

"Why do you still have to pretend?"

"I'm still trying to figure out where they hid the Mana Shell." Hae Choon says.

"Oh. How do we do this?"

"You can come with me if you want. Just remain invisible and don't cause any trouble." Hae Choon says as he starts to turn his face back just like earlier. Mi Young finds it really creepy.

Before the both of them finally leave, Mi Young asks the boy to help her make her two other companions escape their cells. Hae Choon's only reply was a wink.

When Mi Young and Hae Choon went out, there was already a scientist yelling at every soldier.

"How can you let that happen?! That girl was very important! Su Yeon told me that she can control three different elements! Don't you know how important that is?!" The scientist shouts while he continues pointing at the soldier in front of him who has his head hanging low.

The soldier didn't answer as he continued standing on his spot while shaking in fear, Mi Young somehow felt bad for the man knowing that he didn't do anything wrong at all. The black haired girl wonders if all the higher ups inside this hidden part of the headquarters are this cruel towards the lower ranks, it just made her hate their system even more.

"You!" The scientist suddenly shouts while he turns his head and pointed towards Mi Young. The black haired girl freezes and she can't form any signal words because of too much shocked.

The only thing running inside her head was 'how the f*ck did the scientist see her?'

When she was about to answer, someone from behind her start to talk. It was Hae Choon. "Yes Sir?"

"Where did you go? Why were you late?" The scientists ask while looking at Hae Choon suspiciously.

Hae Choon bows his head as he says, "I'm sorry, Sir. I'm new here and I still keep on  getting lost."

However, the scientist didn't buy his lie and he went to walk towards Hae Choon's front. Mi Young immediately backs away so the scientist wouldn't bump into her invisible body.

"Take off your helmet." The scientist says.

Hae Choon didn't waste any time before he nodded his head and did what the scientist says.

When the helmet was finally taken off, the look of suspicion on the scientist's face vanished.

"You're with the squadron that the Vice Captain recommended, right?"

Hae Choon nodded his head. "Yes, Sir!"

He was about to say something to Hae Choon again but one soldier came running towards him. Mi Young sees the soldier whisper something to the scientist's ear. She couldn't make out or hear what the soldier was saying but judging from the way the scientist's eyes widened and his body froze, she knew that it wasn't something good for her.

The scientist nodded his head before he told the soldier that he could already leave. The moment the messenger was out he started yelling towards the remaining soldiers again.

"Listen everyone! One of the High Lords investigated the scene and realized that the female prisoner wasn't dead." The scientist announces. It was obvious that the soldiers were shocked because if the female prisoner was indeed alive, where could she have gone to? And how did she manage to escape without being seen?

The scientist tells the soldiers to listen up once more before he starts to shout another series of instructions and commands. "It has been said that the female prisoner can teleport or use a different kind of magic that requires one's body to vanish. The High Lords are expecting us to find them immediately before the sun rises up! Be alert and try to figure out where the girl could be hiding right now. You are dismissed!"

After that, the soldiers dispersed and they all went to their assigned areas so they could start looking for the female prisoner once more.

Mi Young sees Hae Choon sending her a look so she didn't say anything but followed where the 'soldier' went.
