The Unsurpassed Maiden

Without even looking at her own body, Mi Young already knows that she had successfully managed to make her body invisible just by looking at the expressions of the two other males.

"That's…cool." Kwang Soo murmurs while looking at the empty looking space where Mi Young was sitting earlier.

"At least my clothes also went invisible." Mi Young comments. She also looked at the book she was holding earlier and realized that it was gone. The black haired girl kneels down to touch where she left the book earlier but there was nothing there. "Sh*t."

"What? Are you okay? Did you bump or what? I can't see you." Kwang Soo says while he frantically looks everywhere thinking that the black haired girl could be anywhere.

"No. The book is gone." Mi Young says while she bites her lip. She looks helplessly at Kwang Soo to ask for some help but then she remembers that the boy cannot see her facial expression so she sighs in defeat.

"Oh you're looking for the purple book? Don't worry, it might have gone back to its other form which is the pendant on your necklace." The buff man from the other cell says. He sends a thumbs up while looking at Mi Young's left side. "Uhh I don't know if I'm looking at you right now but great job kiddo!"

Mi Young smiles gratefully at the man. Without the other party's help she couldn't have done it successfully. She then remembered to touch her necklace and when she felt the familiar texture of the purple book that has transformed to its miniature form again, she released a sigh of relief. "It's here."

"Told you." The buff man says.

"So? What's the next plan?" Mi Young asks while looking expectantly at the boys. She waits for their reply but they are just looking away from her, then she slaps her forehead when she remembers that they can't see her.

Mi Young tells herself that she needs a little more time to adjust to the fact that no one else can see her.

"Sh*t. I always forgot that you guys can't see me."

"Stop thinking about it. We only have a couple of minutes before someone realizes that you're gone." The buff man says while he grips the iron bars of his cell. "Listen to me lads. Every twenty minutes they will check our cells to know what we are doing."

"Why? And who would check us?" Kwang Soo asks.

"I don't know. I guess it's because they just want to make sure that we're not killing each other." Jang Hoon says with a shrug. "Anyway, they will send a soldier to look inside and check our surroundings."

"Why don't they just put on some spy cameras everywhere so they don't have to waste their time and effort just to check on us every twenty minutes?" Mi Young asks while crossing her arms.

The buff man from the other cell looks at her right shoulders thinking that he was looking straight at the black haired girl, Mi Young rolls her eyes at the weird feeling of not being looked at by the person you are talking with. "Well they tried that before but it always doesn't work considering that the place is full of concentrated mana."

"Spy cameras are not yet that developed, you see. They are still experimenting about it so it won't get affected by these barriers." Jang Hoon explains.

"But how come Su Yeon was able to use her power earlier?" Kwang Soo asks.

"It's because she is an experiment as well."

"What?" Mi Young and Kwang Soo both ask in unison. "What do you mean?"

"Oh? I thought you already knew. So, the reason why that girl isn't affected by the magical barriers is because she was made by the same person who made these magical barriers."

"I thought she was the daughter of the First."

Jang Hoon lets out a soft chuckle. "No, she's not. She's just a vessel where they were able to successfully put on concentrated mana. She was just a normal Mage child who was taken away from her own family so they can use her for their experiments."

For some reason, Mi Young doesn't feel anything but pity towards the purp[le haired girl. She really can't blame the other girl if she's doing what she's doing now, she only wants her own freedom. And now that she learned that true story of the young girl, Mi Young never felt sicker.

A sudden unknown rage started boiling inside her and all she could think about was to wipe away all the High Lords and everyone else responsible for everything that is happening secretly inside this headquarters.

"Mi Young? Are you still there?" The black haired girl only snaps away from her thoughts when she hears Kwang Soo's voice calling out for her.

"Sorry. My mind went off somewhere. Anyway, what's your plan?" Mi Young says while looking at the two males back and forth.

"You know, it's really weird hearing someone talk and you can't see them." Jang Hoon suddenly comments, making the two look at him. "Sorry, anyway the plan is to…"

Just as soon as the trio finished talking about their plan, the walls opened one more time just like earlier revealing a soldier who went inside to check what was going on with the prisoners.

However, when he saw the buff man's hands gripping the other male's neck who was from the other cell beside his' and was currently turning blue because of the lack of oxygen, the soldier immediately panicked.

"You think you can get away from me, kiddo?!" The taller male shouts while he grips the other's neck tightly. He pulls Kwang Soo closer towards his cell which makes the boy's body slam against the iron bars of his own cell. "I'll turn you into dust just like your companion!"

The soldier who was looking at the unexpected scene in front of him panicked. He tried to point the gun at the buffer male and tell him to let the boy go but he almost peed on his pants because of the scary glare the prisoner sent his way.

The soldier had no other choice but to run away and call for help. They were told that they only need to ask for backup if there is an emergency going on inside the cells, otherwise their seniors will kill them if they panic for small matters. Seeing as the female prisoner was not here to be seen, and the buff man saying something as killing the remaining prisoner just like what he did to the other, the soldier definitely knows that it is an emergency situation he needed to tell the others.

When the soldier went out to get some help, Mi Young waited by her cell door for the opportunity to come.

The soldier went back a few minutes later with a hoard of other soldiers with him. They all directly went to Jang Hoon's cell to stop him from choking the smaller male.

Three soldiers also opened Kwang Soo and Mi Young's cell to take him away from the buffer man's grip. Little did they know that just as soon as they entered the cells, another figure took this as an opportunity to escape.

As Mi Young hurriedly went off towards the exit, she looked back to see Kwang Soo finally being pulled out from Jang Hoon's grip. The black haired girl prays to the gods to keep her friends away from harm.

As she wandered across the hallway that led to nowhere, Mi Young noticed more and more soldiers coming her way. There was also an alarm sound ringing all over the corridors that made Mi Young's heart pound louder. She hopes that no one can see through her spell.

When she rounded a corner, the black haired girl was greeted with a scarily familiar sight.

Somehow, everything around her was white, just like her cells. She can see people in lab gowns walking back and forth and doing their own businesses. Some of them were discussing something at a table, while some were looking at big screens that showed multiple data of something that the young girl couldn't comprehend.

She walks silently to observe her surroundings. Mi Young slowly hugged her shivering body as she wandered all over the place. For some reason, she felt so bare re even though she knew no one could see her. Seeing as there was no one looking at her, the black haired girl knows that her invisibility spell is still working, she just hopes that it doesn't wear out at all.

Mi Young walked further inside the white room and when she entered a small alley, it led her to another room that immediately made her stop in her tracks.

The room was filled with another group of men in white lab gowns, Mi Young doesn't need to be told that these people are scientists. She also sees soldiers standing all around the corners with big weapons that look so scary.

The young girl walks towards another door that she thinks might be the exit.. However, just as soon as she was about to enter the door, she was suddenly grabbed by someone from behind.
