The Unsurpassed Maiden

Chapter 112 - 112 - The Hidden Spell

Now that Mi Young is back to normal, everyone can now see her. She and Hae Choon, the 'real' Hae Choon, found an abandoned small room which looked like a stock room and chose to hide there for the time being while they scan Mi Young's spell book.

"So? Have you found anything yet?" Hae Choon asks as he peers at Mi Young who was sitting at the corner of the small room. The boy was the one who acted as their 'look-out' so they could see if someone was coming.

The young girl didn't even dare spare him any glance while she shook her head. "Not yet. Just keep on watch."

Hae Choon rolled his eyes at the young girl before he started to look from left to right again. At some point, two soldiers went by the room where they were hiding to which the boy immediately hid inside together with the black haired students. Fortunately for them the soldiers just passed by and continued walking towards where they were going.

"Here!" Mi Young says while pointing at something in the book.

Hae Choon immediately scrambled his way towards where the girl was sitting and he immediately peered at the book where the girl was pointing. He frowns while looking at the book. "What's that?"

"Can't you read? It said something about a spell that can show you the right way."

"Okay? But how will you do that?" Hae Choon asks, voice sounding doubtful.

The black haired girl scoffs at him, "Are you suggesting that I can't do it?"

"No. What I mean is, are you sure about using that spell?" Hae Choon asks. He looks straight at Mi Young which gives the girl an uneasy feeling.

"Why? It's just a spell." The young girl says.

"It's not just a spell, Mi Young. That spell requires one to use a part of his soul!" The other party says in a much louder voice. They both froze on their spot when they heard someone talking just right outside the door of the room where they were hiding.

"I heard voices."

"You must be hallucinating, I heard nothing. Let's keep going."

"Trust me! I really heard someone!"

"We're the only ones here though."

"It came from that room."

Both Hae Choon and Mi Young exchange worried glances when they hear what the two people outside were talking about. The young girl signals the other party about the door's lock, but Hae Choon wasn't able to answer her because the doorknob was now being twisted.

"It's locked."

"See? No one's there. The scientists may have locked it for a reason. Now, let's go before they find out we're lazing around."

When they heard the two soldiers' footsteps fading away, that's when the two of them finally let out sighs of relief.

"We could have been caught." The black haired girl says before sending a glare at Hae Choon.

"Well, good thing we didn't." The boy says with a sarcastic smile. This earned another glare from the young girl before Mi Young started reading what was written on the book once more.

"This spell is a very helpful and trustworthy spell when you want to find someone. All you have to do is use two metals, one meant to find the person you are looking for and the other for you to follow." Mi Young reads every word written in her spell book. She glances at Hae Choon who was looking at her with serious eyes. The boy nodded his head at her, signaling the girl to continue reading the words out loud. "The process is easy as well. Find a place that has water. If you are a Hydro Mage then good for you. You can just produce your own water for you to use. The next step is to enchant the first nail with the spell written below."

The black haired girl scans the lower part of the page and sees that there are two different phrases of spells written below. The first one was meant for the first metal and the other for the second.

"Read the rest." Hae Choon suddenly says making Mi Young remember that she needs to read the spell before they run out of time.

Mi Young nodded her head as she read the rest of the page. "After that, you will have to wait if the first piece of metal floats on the surface of the water. Close your eyes and count to seven. If you open your eyes, the first piece of metal should have been gone by now or else your spell didn't work. Next is to read the second chant. Then you will have to dip the second piece of metal on the water. Just like the first step, wait for the metal to float. After that, it will continue to float. Then you will have to do the next chant."

This made Mi Young stop. "There's another chant? But there are only two chants written here."

Hae Choon sighs as he puts a hand on Mi Young's right shoulder to console her. He crouches down and says, "That's the part where you will have to risk half of your soul in order to make the spell work out entirely."

"How? And what does it have to do with the next chant this book is talking about?" The black haired girl asks.

"By sacrificing your soul you need to meditate and force half of your consciousness out of your body."

"How do you do that?" The black haired student asks.

"Just go outside and it will follow you. You will know it once you feel it." Hae Choon instructs. "After that, I'm sure the third spell, or should we say the hidden spell will now come out. You will have to chant it then I guess the spell will work?"

"How do you know so much about spells?"

Hae Choon smiles with a dazed expression. "She used to study spells."

Mi Young doesn't have to ask who Hae Choon was talking about because she already knows that the other party was referring to the maiden inside the Mana Shell. The young students nodded her head at the man before she started to prepare for the spell.

"Uhm…do you have a piece of metal with you?" Mi Young asks Hae Choon.

"Wait." Hae Choon says before he starts to pat his suit. He fishes something out from his pocket and after a while, two pieces of metal were now in his hands.

"What's this?"

"I used that to open my cage earlier." Hae Choon says.

"you said something about a pet. I thought your pet set you out?"

"Oh. You mean this pet?" Hae Choon claps his hands softly for around three times and suddenly, a golem appears in front of the black haired girl.

"Oh my god!" Mi Young exclaims.

"This is Vivi."

"You named your golem Vivi?"

"Why? It's cute." Hae Choon says while looking so offended. He claps his hands again and the golem disassembles in front of Mi Young once more. "Anyway, at least we have two pieces of metal now."

The black haired girl shrugs before she calls out her mana power and quickly produces a puddle of water below her. She follows what was written on the spell book and dips the first piece of metal underneath the water. The black haired girl reads the chant meant for the first piece of metal. She then closes her eyes and counts one to seven, when she opens them, the piece of metal is gone.

"It worked!" Mi Young exclaims proudly. She looks at Hae Choon with round eyes and waits for him to praise her.

The other party rolls his eyes at her before saying, "Fine. Fine. Well done, but you shouldn't rejoice yet since you're not halfway through the spell yet."

"Whatever." The young girl says before she sticks out her tongue at the male. She then dips the other piece of metal on the water again. Just like what the book instructed, she reads the spell and waits for it to float. After a few seconds, while it continued hovering just on the surface of the water, Mi Young started to prepare for her meditation.

However, just before she finally loses her consciousness, Hae Choon warns her, "Mi Young, remember to only let go of half of your soul. It will be difficult if you let your whole soul out from your body. Be careful."

The black haired girl nodded her head before she finally closed her eyes.

The first step she made was to take a deep breath before she released it very slowly. Then she started to black out her mind. Mi Young thinks about nothing, she threw all of her worries and thoughts away until nothing was left behind.

When she feels like she has reached the peak of her meditation, she starts talking to herself just like what Hae Choon instructed her.

When she feels like she finally grasp her soul, she slowly instructs and wills it out of her body. The young girl doesn't know how she was doing it but she can feel a burning sensation starting to spread all over her body. It felt like something inside her was being ripped apart and it hurts.

However, she promised Kwang Soo and Jang Hoon that she would help them just like how they helped her, so she bites her lip and focuses on her goal.

For a few seconds, nothing major happened. However, just as she was about to start pushing her soul again, a ripple spread all-over her body.

'What the hell?' Mi Young thinks. She felt lighter. It's as if some of her weight was taken down from her.

"Mi Young! Mi Young!" Then she hears Hae Choon's voice.

When Mi Young opened her eyes, the other party's concerned expression was what greeted her.
