The Unsurpassed Maiden

The black haired girl shouts on top of her lungs when she realizes that between the two of them, the beast chose to chase her instead.

"Why would you follow me?! Hae Choon is much tastier!!" Mi Young shouts while she tries to round around the corner to get away from the beast as possible.

The beast roared once more as it was getting angrier because its prey was getting away.

The black haired girl sees a huge pillar just a few meters away from her so she grabs the chance when a huge feather was blocking the beast's view of her. She immediately runs behind the pillar to catch her breath.

"Sh*t sh*t sh*t." Mi Young continuously curses as she feels the rumbling of the ground beneath her. She knows the beast was looking for her so she tries her best to stay calm as possible.

Mi Young hears the beast let out another roar when it realized it couldn't find its prey. So the black haired girl uses this chance to execute a battle technique with minimal movements. She creates the biggest fireball she can create and when she couldn't get ahold of it anymore, she emerges from behind the pillar and shouts to get the beast's attention.

"Hey ugly!" The black haired student announces, still carrying the heavy fireball above her.

The huge beast turns around to look at its prey. However, it was too late to realize that Mi Young was holding a fireball in both of her hands. So when she finally throws the fireball at the beast, it doesn't have much time to react to her sudden attack.

The beast roars when the fireball hits its eyes. The black haired girl instantly runs away when she notices that the beast is still preoccupied; she uses this chance to find her missing companion.

Mi Young was having a hard time trying to find Hae Choon since there were feathers practically everywhere. However, when she was about to turn to her left once more, a grab suddenly grabbed her upwards.

The black haired girl lets out a shriek upon the sudden action. However, Hae Choon immediately puts his hands on top of her mouth to stop her from making more noises.

"If you do that again, we're dead." Hae Choon whispers as he grabs Mi Young and pushes her downwards so they can't be seen. They were hiding behind another huge feather that looked like it belonged to a huge bird. "Stay down."

They hear the beast let out a very angry roar that it shook the entire room, all the feathers started to shake as well.

"What did you do? Why does it sound angrier?" Hae Choon asks with widened eyes.

Mi Young bites her lip as she looks at Hae Choon guiltily, "I threw a fireball at it."

"What? Really? That's cool." Hae Choon comments while giving the younger party a thumbs up. "Although it's even angrier than before."

"You tell me." Mi Young replies. They hear the beast let out another series of angry roars before everything quiets down.

This immediately alerted Mi Young and Hae Choon, "Sh*t. Now we don't know where it—"

Roooar!

"Quick! Jump!" Hae Choon shouted as he pushed Mi Young away from the beast's mouth.

The black haired girl didn't even have the time to process what was happening when her body hit the solid ground. She felt the beast stomping its leg angrily as she tried to focus her vision once more. The young girl looked around to find Hae Choon but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Sh*t." The young girl whispers as she tries to massage her waist. She felt an ache the moment she touched the part that hit the ground. She doesn't need to check it to know that there was a huge bruise that has marked her skin.

The beast roars once more and the black haired girl hurriedly looks to where it was. Her eyes immediately went wide as saucers when she saw Hae Choon trying to fight the beast alone.

Mi Young stands up to help out Hae Choon. Even though the pain started to spread all over her body, she still pushes herself to go after her friend.

The young girl sees Hae Choon execute battle techniques that she doesn't know of and it left her dumbfounded for a few seconds. Looking at the boy right now, he somewhat looks majestic and powerful. It reminded her how huge the gap between her and Hae Choon is.

"Mi Young! Don't just stand there! Help me!" Hae Choon suddenly shouts, making Mi Young snap out of her thoughts.

The black haired girl immediately runs forward to help out her friend. "What happened? How do I help?"

Hae Choon didn't have much time to explain things to the other party because the beast gets even wilder. They both leap to their right when the beast decided to launch its claw towards them. "Look out!"

Mi Young  immediately ducks down to avoid another slash from the beast. The two of them scampered underneath a table and hid behind another huge feather. The beast roared as it tried to find its prey.

"Its claws have electricity!" Hae Choon half whispered to the black haired girl.

"What?! A beast having an element? And a lost element as well?" Mi Young questions, sounding shocked and unbelieving.

"It's true." Hae Choon says with confidence. "It threw electricity at me earlier. I thought it was just a trick of the eye but then the feather behind me turned to dust, that's when I realized it really had an element of its own!"

"Sh*t."  The black haired girl whispers.

They felt the floor beneath them tremble as the beast started to stomp its foot again, sounding angry that it couldn't find its prey.

"How come do they have a beast like this inside?!" Mi Young shouts as the beast clawed the table they were hiding at. The two of them both run straight ahead to avoid the beast's second attack.

Hae Choon held Mi Young's hand and together they teleported to the other side of the room.

"Why didn't you use that earlier?!" The black haired girl shouts. They see the beast letting out another roar of rage when it sees them on the other side of the room. The beast started to march towards them.

"Come on! Let's go!" Hae Choon said as he held the younger's hand once more. They see the piece of metal hovering in front of a closed door and their eyes widened in surp[rise upon realizing what it meant.

"We're trapped!!" Mi young shouts. When she looks back, she sees the beast getting near them. "It's near! What do we do!?"

"I can't use my teleportation anymore! Quick! Run!" Hae Choon shouts as the both of them run towards their left in order to avoid the beast.

They run behind pillars so the beast wouldn't immediately catch them. When the beast realized that its prey had outrun it again, it let out another huge and anguish roar that shook the entire room. Some of the feathers that were hanging on the ceiling and on the wall fell down.

"Let's hide there until we sort out how to escape this room!" Hae Choon shouts as he points at a pile of feathers that gathered just a few meters away from them.

Mi Young nodded her head and together they ran as fast as they could underneath the pile of feathers.

Hae Choon puts his finger against his lip, signaling to the other party to keep quiet.

They felt the tremors again as the beast started checking the whole place. "How can we open that door?"

"Do you think they knew that we would walk into this place? That's why they didn't bother coming after us?" Hae Choon asks while he tries to peek at where the beast was currently at.

"I think so. But why would they want us dead?" Mi Young asks while also speaking to the beast. "Sh*t. One stomp of that beast and we're dead."

They see the beast walking back towards where they came from to check if they were hiding there but when it realized that they weren't there, it clawed the walls until it left a huge mark on it. The two of them looked at each other as the same idea popped inside their minds.

However, all the happiness that had gathered inside them when they saw the huge claw marks done by the beast towards the wall vanished in an instant when they saw that the marks weren't there anymore.

"What…happened?"

"That's it." Hae Choon whispers beside her.

"What?" The young girl asks, looking at Hae Choon defeatedly.

"I think they have enchanted this room with spells." Hae Choon says. "The feathers here served as talismans to keep the spell from breaking."

"Why? Why do they have to do this?" Mi Young asks. When she looked at the beast, she realized the answer to her question. "Is the beast also one of their experiments?"

Hae Choon didn't give her a reply but Mi Young already knew what it meant.
