The Unsurpassed Maiden
Chapter 119 - 119 - The Door
"What?! After three days? What do you mean by that?" The black haired girl asks with shock
Hae Choon shakes his head in disappointment. "Uhn. The soul will still reciprocate its lost mana. It will only get back to you after three days once it has already replenished all the mana that it used."
"That's???.three days is too long."?? Mi Young whispers with a sad and small voice.
Hae Choon looks at her before saying, "That was what I was trying to point out. You should have never???"
"No. I don't regret what I did." The black haired girl suddenly says, cutting Hae Choon off. She then moves her gaze to meet Hae Choon's eyes. "Saving you is my top priority. So don't you ever say that again."
"I???" Hae Choon starts to say. However, when he saw the pure conviction reflecting on the girl's eyes, he couldn't do anything else but let out a sigh of defeat. "Thank you."
The two of them went silent after that. None were able to form any words, still thinking about everything that has happened within the past hours.
"I wonder what time it is already." Mi Young says while looking up above them. "Do you think there is really a sky above us?"
Hae Choon followed the young girl's movement and also looked at the high ceiling. "What do you mean?"
"Nothing." The black haired student says with a small shake of her head. She then look at Hae Choon's wounds before saying, "How are you feeling?"
"Fine. Although there is this small ache constantly putting pressure on my arms, I think it's far better than earlier." Hae Choon says while slowly moving his arms. "Thanks to you."
"Don't thank me. I should be the one thanking you instead. Without your help I would have died earlier." Mi Young says while giving Hae Choon another grateful smile.
"It was the right thing to do." Hae Choon replies.
"Why?"
"Huh?"
Mi Young pauses for a moment before asking once again, "Why did you save me? You knew you're going to suffer by pushing me away but why did you still do it? We've only known each other for hours."
Hae Choon chuckled at the girl's words before he leaned his head against the pillar behind him. The other party looks back at the ceiling once more before replying, "I told you I won't be able to face Ning Gwang if I let her student get hurt."
"I know that's not your real answer." The young girl says while crossing her arms and glaring softly at Hae Choon.
The other party chuckled once more. "When I saw the beast's thunderbolt about to hit you, the only thing that crossed my mind was that I have lived enough."
"Which means?"
Hae Choon proceeded to look at her. "Which means that I'm ready to die."
"Why? I mean, you haven't fulfilled your promise to her yet. Why would you want to die already?" Mi Young asks. She hates the fact that her voice cracked at the end.
"The funny thing was, even though I have already accepted that I might not ever be able to say sorry to Ireena again, I knew someone would continue my duty and set her free." Hae Choon replies.
Mi Young glances at him to see what he was talking about. And when she saw the smile and the look on the other party's face, she immediately knew who Hae Choon was talking about.
"You're not going to die." The black haired girl says while rolling her eyes. "You need to tell her face to face."
"I know but what if I die during???"
"Nope. You're not going to die." Mi Young says one more time, completely cutting off the other party.
"But what if???"
Mi Young shakes her head. "Uh uh. No one's going to die. Period."
"You're so stubborn." Hae Choon says with a defeated look.
"Thanks. My teacher taught me well." The black haired girl says with a proud look on her face.
Hae Choon smiles at that. "Yeah. You're right. You really got it from her."
They spend a few more minutes talking inside the huge room while they wait for some of Hae Choon's energy to get back. They also talked about what could possibly be the reason why the soldiers still haven't gone after them. Hae Choon said something about the higher ups probably thinking that they couldn't handle the large beast.
"I mean, he was easy to kill." Mi Young says while she slowly helps Hae Choon to get up.
"Yeah. That beast was an easy kill and it took away my arms." Hae Choon says sarcastically.
Mi Young smiles apologetically at him. "Sorry about that. But seriously, it was easy to kill. We were just intimidated by its size, that's why we don't know how to defeat it."
"How did you do it by the way?" Hae Choon asks after finally standing up on his two feet but not without the black haired girl's arms wrapped around his waist.
"Well, I made it eat my fireball."
Hae Choon's eyes widened after hearing the young girl's words. "What?"
"Are you deaf? Did the beast damage your ears as well? I said, ``I made a huge fireball and made the beast eat it." Mi Young repeats as she slowly guides Hae Choon towards the exit door where the piece of metal was hovering earlier.
"I heard that right. I just couldn't believe you could do that." Hae Choon slowly says.
'Hey! Are you underestimating Lady Ning Gwang's student?" Mi Young asks with a pout. She sees the huge exit door just a few meters away from them and says, "Hey, look. We're almost there. Just a little more and we're finally out of this room."
"Thank the gods. I was starting to get the chills inside me as if someone was looking at my actions." Hae Choon comments out while he limps his way towards the huge door, Mi Young's arms still supporting his back.
"Me too. I thought I was the only one." The black haired girl says as well.
They were both a few meters away from the door when a sound hit their ears.
Both parties covered their ears to reduce the sound that was making their ears ache.
"What the hell is that!?" Mi Young shouts while still covering her ears. She knows that Hae Choon probably didn't hear her so she moved her eyes around to see where the sound was coming from. Her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing the huge door opening by itself.
The sound completely stopped when the huge door stopped moving. Hae Choon and Mi Young immediately uncovered their ears.
"Hae Choon! The door opened by itself." Mi Young announces while pointing at the now opened door.
Hae Choon followed the young girl's hands and his eyes widened upon seeing the open door as well. "That's suspicious."
"At least it's open now. We don't have to figure out how to go out anymore." The black haired girl says with a smile. "Come on. I can't wait to get out of here."
Although Hae Choon's mind was screaming something else, he still followed the black haired girl. They also had no other choice but to use the door since it was the only way out of the huge room.
When they were finally at the front of the opened door, they realized they couldn't see anything outside.
"Why can't I see something?" Mi Young asks, sounding confused and a little scared.
"Maybe they have enchanted the door as well." Hae Choon says.
Just as they were about to start talking again, the door's scenery changed all of a sudden. The once empty looking door is now replaced with something that surprised the both of them big time.
"Why???why are we looking at ourselves?" Mi Young asks with pure shock. Both her and Hae Choon are now staring in front of their own reflections. With Mi Young's arms wrapped around Hae Choon to support him.
Hae Choon looks confused as well. "What the hell is happening here?"
They both looked confusingly at the door in front of them. However, what stopped them was the sudden change of the scenery in front.
Mi Young's eyes widened upon what she was seeing. "Please tell me I am only imagining things."
"It can't be???" Hae Choon starts to say as he looks at the huge beast who is now starting to stand back up behind them.
"Why???why is it alive?" Mi Young stammers while looking at it.
They still couldn't believe the scene in front of them. However, when they heard the huge beast's roar, that finally confirmed their worst nightmare.
Both Mi Young and Hae Choon turn around to see the huge beast behind them.
"How???how the hell is this possible?" That was all My Young could utter as she looked at the supposedly dead beast who was now looking at them with pure anger and is very much alive.
Hae Choon shakes his head in disappointment. "Uhn. The soul will still reciprocate its lost mana. It will only get back to you after three days once it has already replenished all the mana that it used."
