The Unsurpassed Maiden

Chapter 118 - 118 - Fire And Water

Mi Young watches as the beast continues to convulse right on the floor. Its mouth was still hanging open and it was letting out a ragged and helpless sound. If it wasn't for the situation they were in, the black haired girl would have pitied the beast. However, the only thing Mi Young can do was close her eyes as she prays for the beast's soul.

When the room quiets down, that was when the black haired student decided to open her eyes. She watches as the giant beast in front of her finally closes its eyes.

"I'm sorry you were dragged into this kind of place." The young girl whispers as she gently pats the edge of the beast's giant leg.

After that, the black haired girl went back towards where she left her friend.

When Mi Young gets back, she finds Hae Choon still leaning against the pillar. Contrary to the state of his body where blood is evident on his clothes, Hae Choon's face shows no evidence of discomfort. It was as if he was just sleeping.

Mi young hurriedly went to the other party's side to check his state. She puts her fingers against his pulse to check if he was still alive. The black haired girl releases a breath of relief when she feels Hae Choon's pulse.

"You scared me right there, buddy." Mi Young whispers as she glances at Hae Choon.

The black haired girl sees something shining from the corner of her eyes. When she followed where the light was coming from, she realized it was the piece of metal that was still hovering in front of the huge door, waiting for someone to open and get the barrier off of its way.

Mi Young biters her lip as she looks back and forth between the metal and Hae Choon's unmoving body. She contemplates for a second before she gets up and goes towards the piece of metal.

The young girl looks at the piece of metal that was still floating around the air before she closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and finally snatches it away. The young student quickly puts it inside her pocket and returns towards her friend's side.

"Hey, please don't call me stupid for cancelling the only way to get to know where my friends are." Mi Young gently whispers as she kneels down beside Hae Choon. She held the other party's damaged arms and grimaces at the look of it. "Damn. That beast really got you good, huh?"

The black haired girl places Hae Choon's arm on top of his body as she untangles her book from her neck. The pendant immediately went back to its full size. Mi Young didn't waste any time before she started scanning through the spell book once more.

A couple of pages more and the black haired girl finally sees a spell that she thinks would work on her friend.

Mi Young glances at Hae Choon before saying, "Just a little more, Hae Choon and we'll heal you, yeah?"

After that she started reading what was written on the spell book to quickly help her friend.

"Oh? It's not that hard???" The black haired girl whispers after she finishes reading what was written on the page. She looks at Hae Choon and back at the book before she finally sighs and says, "Here goes nothing."

Just like what the spell book said, Mi Young calls out her mana power and Hydro energy. She then started by making small circles made from water and encircled it around Hae Choon's unmoving body.

When she sees that all the water balls are placed correctly around Hae Choon, she immediately calls out her Pyro energy just like what the spell instructed.

Mi Young creates a small ball made of fire in front of her and then gently moves it towards the first water ball which was on Hae Choon's left side. She followed what the spell book instructed and made the fireball pass through the first water ball. She looks at it to check if what the spell book was saying was true.

When the black haired girl sees a fire illuminating inside the center of the first water ball, her mouth hangs open. She couldn't believe that she was doing what the spell book was saying, and she also can't believe that two different elements can fuse together. Following the next steps, Mi Young repeats the same process until all of the water balls now have fireballs inside of them.

After that, the young girl started to chant what was written on the spell book.

She repeated it three more times until all the water balls started to shake. The next second, they all started to emit a bright and luminous kind of light that almost blinded the black haired girl. Good thing she was fast enough to close and cover her eyes or else she would have lost her sight right there and then.

When she saw that the bright light was finally gone, Mi Young opened her eyes once again. She blinks a couple of times to readjust her eyesight and when she opens them, she is shocked to see that the water balls that were surrounding the other party earlier were now gone. Instead, there was a huge water ball hanging just above Hae Choon. Just like the miniature water balls earlier, there was also some kind of fire burning inside the water ball that the black haired girl found quite interesting.

"Mi???.Young?" A voice suddenly calls out making the black haired girl jump in surprise.

When she looked back at Hae Choon, the boy was already looking back at her with a confused expression. Because of too much joy, the black haired girl launches towards her friend to give him a huge bear hug, completely forgetting that he was still healing.

It was when Hae Choon was saying something about aching that Mi Young let go of him.

"Sh*t. Sorry. I forgot. I'm sorry I got too excited." The young girl says as she apologizes to Hae Choon again and again.

Despite his weak body, Hae Choon was still able to let out a small chuckle. Although it sounded more painful than carefree, "It's okay. I should be the one apologizing to you for worrying about you."

"No. It was my fault why you were hurt in the first place. If it wasn't for you, I would have been a pile of ash now." The young student says while looking at Hae choon with pure sincerity and gratitude.

"I wouldn't let Ning Gwang's students be turned to dust. What would I say to her if I see her someday? God knows how strong that woman's punch is." Hae Choon jokes out as he gives the black haired girl a playful wink.

"Still. I really want to thank you. Not just for saving me but for everything.?? You helped me a lot already." The student says while giving Hae Choon a gentle and genuine smile.

Hae Choon smiles back at her. "You look pretty when you smile."

This immediately made the black haired girl's face turn bright red. "Stop that!"

"It's true. I wonder if that friend of yours knows that." Hae Choon teases some even more.

Mi Young really wanted to punch him right then for saying that but she remembered that the boy was still in too much pain so she notes herself to punch Hae Choon later if he's already feeling okay.

"Anyway, how did you heal me? And what's this thing floating above me?" The other party asks while looking at the water ball above him with pure confusion.

"I don't know. I just followed what the spell book instructed." Mi Young says with a shrug while she points at the page where the healing spell was written.

Hae Choon started nodding his head in understanding. However, he immediately froze when he realized what the young girl said. "Wait! You mean to say you used the spell book to heal me?"

"Uhh yeah?" The black haired girl replies.

Then, Hae Choon looks at the spell book once more and back at something on their left. Mi Young followed the other party's gaze and all she could see was nothing but the empty room where the doorway was.

"So you mean to say that you cancelled the spell before that just to heal me!?" The taller party says while looking at the young girl as if she just committed a very terrible crime.

When Mi Young scratches her head while looking everywhere but Hae Choon, the other party couldn't do anything but sigh in defeat. "Why would you do that? That was our only clue in order to find where your missing friends are!"

"I know but you were there! And you look like you were about to die! I couldn't just stand there and watch you breathe your last breath!" Mi Young protests. "Besides, we can always use the spell again so we can still find them."

"No, we can't." Hae Choon says while giving another sigh.

"Why not?"

"We don't have any other source of metal.. Aside from that, your soul will only go back to you after three days."
