The Unsurpassed Maiden

"Good! Very good!" The boy suddenly says while clapping his hands. There was a joyful look on his face as if he had just discovered something magnificent. "I was really disappointed with you at first because I thought you really didn't notice my presence. It turns out you were also acting and trying to be witty!"

Mi Young looks at the boy like he was crazy.

Why do I always attract psychopaths? Mi Young thought.

"What are you thinking, maiden?" The dark blue haired guy questions. The look on his face screams 'crazy' to Mi Young and she was torn between wiping that look on his face or running away from him.

"Nothing. Just thinking about what you want to do now that I have learned your secret." Mi Young says in a calm manner even though her insides were panicking.

The boy cocks his head to the side, "Well, of course I want to fight with you."

"But I don't want to fight with you." Mi Young says. "And you have no choice because we do not have the same roles. The rules say that in order for different roles to engage in a battle, one should challenge another. And if the challenged party will accept the duel, that's when the two can fight. If you attack me even without me accepting your challenge you and your whole team would be disqualified. But I won't accept your challenge. So goodbye."

Mi Young swore the dark blue haired boy looks utterly defeated, if not, he also looks like a child who wants a lollipop but his mother said no.

"W-Why? Fighting is fun." The boy says.

"For you, yes. But I'm tired and I have other priorities. Now, if you'll excuse me I need to keep going." Mi Young says. After that, she starts to walk away from the boy.

The boy from the Hydro faction blinked twice at her before he started to run after the black haired girl. "Hey! Come fight with me!"

"No." Mi Young says in a grave voice.

"But fighting is really fun, you know!"

"No is no." The girl says before she starts to walk towards the North once more.

Mi Young doesn't know how many minutes have passed but as she walks along North, the boy kept on following her, trying to convince her for a fight and the black haired girl kept on rejecting his challenges.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I won't fight with you?" Mi Young asks while stopping and turning to look at the boy.

The boy smiled before he answered, "I won't leave you alone until you say yes to my challenge."

"Fine."

"Y-You're accepting my challenge?"

"No! Fine, I'll let you follow me forever since you're not getting a yes from me!" Mi Young deadpans. The boy's face fell once more as his shoulders slumped. He looked at Mi Young like a kicked puppy. Mi Young sighs before she continues, "Seriously. I have other things to do, why don't you go back to your team and help them secure a flag?"

"Oh don't worry about that, I'm sure they'll manage to get one. All of them are strong. But not as strong as me." The boy says looking proud.

Mi Young just shakes her head before she starts walking once more.

"You know—"

Mi Young was instantly in front of the boy, covering his mouth as she tried to listen to their surroundings.

"Sssh...someone's here." Mi Young whispers. She was on top of the dark blue haired boy and her hands were covering his mouth while the boy's back was pinned to the ground. The boy signaled Mi Young to get her hands off his mouth. Mi Young drew her face closer towards the boy which made the boy's eyes widen in surprise, "I will get my hands off your mouth but promise me you'll stay quiet or else I will leave you alone here."

The boy rolled his eyes but he nodded his head at Mi Young's words. After that, the girl gently removed her hands from the boy's lips. Mi Young also noticed that the boy is redder than usual. "What's wrong with your face?"

The other party just shook his head as he looked everywhere but Mi Young. "L-Lack of oxygen, I think."

Mi Young wonders if the boy was telling the truth but she chose to ignore him while she tries to focus on their surroundings once more.

She waits for a few seconds to try and feel any movement around them, when she was about to think that it was just a bird, another movement from her left made her stop.

"It's coming from our left." Mi Young whispers. She turns her gaze towards the tree with a huge tree trunk and tries to feel if something or someone was hiding behind it.

"Is it coming from that tree?" The boy asks. He, too, was looking at the tree in front of them.

Mi Young can feel that a strong aura was coming from that side of the forest but she wasn't sure if it's really coming from the tree.

"I'll go and take a look."

"No. Stay here." Mi Young says while gripping the boy's hands, hard. The black haired girl was so focused on the tree that she didn't notice the dark blue haired boy looking at her with reddened cheeks.

The boy clears his throat, "O-Okay."

Mi Young's eyes never left the tree as she tries to decipher where the enemy was located, while still gripping the boy's arms.

If she was the enemy she thinks hiding behind a tree is really obvious, so where can she be?

The black haired girl scans the area where the tree is and realizes that something was wrong. Then she spots him. "There!"

The other dual user blinks at her before his gaze turns serious, "Where?"

"Under the tree." Mi Young whispers.

"Under the—what? Are you sure?" Mi Young nodded at the boy's question.

"Fire at him."

"No way."

Mi Young rolls her eyes at the dark blue haired boy before she executes a battle technique. She then throws the fireball towards the ground beneath the tree. And right before it could hit the solid ground, two boys came out from the ground.

"Sh*t! It's fire, look out!" The other boy shouts as they both move to the other sides in order to avoid Mi Young's attack.

A few seconds later, when they finally regained their composure, the two parties looked at Mi Young with accusing eyes. "Watch where you're throwing fire, miss!"

Mi Young crosses her arms while looking at the twins. "I was just making sure that what I was seeing is true."

"What were you seeing?" / "What did you see?"

The twins ask in unison.

The dark blue haired boy also looked at Mi Young while he asked, "Yeah, how did you find out that there's someone beneath the ground?"

"There's a huge and strong powerful aura coming out from the ground below the tree. I thought it was coming from behind the tree but I don't think someone would hide behind a very obvious spot, right?" Mi Young explains. "Aside from that, the ground was breathing. When did the ground ever breathe?"

"I told you not to use that technique!"

"Hey, you're the one who suggested hiding below the ground?"

"Well, it was just a suggestion I didn't think you would actually go for it!"

"Wow, so now it's my fault?"

"Whose fault is it then?!"

Mi Young and the other boy looked at the twins arguing in front of them before they looked at each other, confused.

"Are they always like this?" Mi Young asks.

The other party shrugged. "I don't know. I'm not close with anyone except for my team."

"Let's leave them alone then."

"Okay."

And with that, the two started walking away. However,  Mi Young was stopped by an invisible force.

"You cannot leave." One of the twins said. Mi Young turned to looks at him and that's when she realized that the other party was a captain, which means they have to fight before one of them can leave.

"No way." The dark blue haired boy says. "I can't believe you're going to fight with her first before me! I won't let that happen! Come here and fight me first!"

The dark blue haired boy was about to execute a battle technique but another invisible force stops him. "What the f*ck?"

"You're going to fight me." The other twin says while he looks at the other boy with a smirk. "I heard from the Anemo faction that you're the best support. Let's see if you're a good fighter as well."

"You're from the Anemo faction?" Mi Young asks, ignoring the twins in front of them.

"Well yeah?"

"I thought you're from the Hydro."

"You thought wrong then."

"Hey! We're here?" One of the Kwon brothers says.

"Yeah I know I heard you." Mi Young says while rolling her eyes at him. "You know, I met your older brother."

"You met Soo Hyun?" The captain asks, if Mi Young was right, he's Kwon Ji Hyun.

"Uhn. Met him at the Geo dorm." Mi Young answers. "For some reason he's more tolerable than you two."

"I hope you're not saying that we're both annoying." Ji Hyun says. There was a dangerous lilt in his voice.

"Oh so you do understand sarcasm, good." Mi Young answers. "I hope you understand why I'm going to do this as well."

And with that, she didn't waste any time as she fired the first attack at the captain.
