The Unsurpassed Maiden

Mi Young and Jong In's body stiffen upon hearing the new voice behind them. They slowly turned towards the newcomer to see who it was.

"Xiao Lu!" Mi Young sighs, exhaling a huge amount of air. She was so relieved that it was not an enemy but the dark blue haired boy she met yesterday.

"Why are you talking about the Anemo faction?" Xiao Lu asks. Then he looks at the both of them weirdly, "Why are you two crouching down?"

As if they just remembered why they were there, Mi Young instantly pulls Xiao Lu beside her as she peeks and checks if anyone from the Pyro faction below saw the other boy. There was no movement from the enemy at all so Mi Young let out another sigh of relief.

"We're spying the enemies." Mi Young whispers.

"Why are you telling him our plan?" Jong In scolds, not caring if the other boy can hear him. "He's also an enemy!"

"No he's not." Mi Young deadpans.

"He's not?" / "I'm not?"

Jong In glared at Xiao Lu upon hearing his question. "See!"

Mi Young rolls her eyes at Jong In. "Stop being dramatic. And you, Xiao Lu, you're not an enemy."

"Since when did I become your friend?" Xiao Lu asks while crossing his arms. Jong In squints at the other boy after seeing his cheeks turning red while he was looking at Mi Young.

'Suspicious.' Jong In thought.

"After this event I'm going to battle with you." Mi Young says nonchalantly, not even sparing the dark blue haired boy any glance.

This made Xiao Lu sit up straighter. "I am not your enemy then."

"Good." Mi Young says, then she turns to Jong In. "What were you saying about the Anemo faction just now?"

Jong In looks helpless before he finally sighs in defeat, ignoring the fact that he was investigating the Anemo boy earlier. "As I have said before, all students from the Anemo faction are called hunters."

"Why?"

"Because we're good at finding our prey." Xiao Lu answers, cutting Jong In off. This earned a glare from the tan skinned boy. "I mean, look, I immediately found you while you were sneaking out of us while we were sleeping."

Jong In looks at Mi Young, "You were with the Anemo faction?"

"One from the Anemo and two from the Geo." Mi Young says. Then she fishes something out from her backpack. "Speaking of Geo, here's their flag."

"Holy sh*t! We have already secured our first flag? And you didn't even tell me?" Jong In questions.

Mi Young rolls her eyes once more, "As I have said, stop being dramatic. We're wasting our time."

"Anyway, we need to look out for the Anemo faction because they have really skilled students who are so good at hunting out their prey." Jong In says. He gives Xiao Lu a side glance before he asks, "Wait a minute, since you have announced yourself as our ally, maybe you can help us defeat your team."

"That I can't do. I can help you fight off other teams but I can't betray my team. I'm already breaking our team's rules just by being allies with you." Xiao Lu says. Mi Young mentally praises him for his loyalty to his team.

"So why are you sure that they will still accept you if they learned that you are breaking the rules just to help out another team?" Jong In asks.

"I'm doing this for personal reasons so I'm sure they will understand." Xiao Lu says while turning to Jong In and giving him a small smile. "Don't worry about me."

"I'm not worried about you." The tan skinned male replies while rolling his eyes.

"However, the only thing I can give you is a clue if you really wish to defeat our members." The dark blue haired boy starts to say. He turns to Mi Young and with a serious voice he says, "I am not the only dual user from our faction. And I'm telling you, this person I'm talking about is much more cunning and smart than me so I think it's best if you prepare yourself."

"Is that so…" Mi Young comments. Then she has no choice but to defeat that person as well. "But for now, let me handle this Pyro captain first."

Shi Yun arrives just before night falls. He was so shocked in seeing Xiao Lu that he almost blew off their hiding spot.

Good thing Mi Young was there in an instant just before Shi Yun could call out his mana power.

"Stop fighting! He's an ally!" Mi Young tells the still shocked Shi Yun.

"Since when did our plan change from attacking all enemies to being allies with some of them?" Shi Yun fires back as he glares at his captain.

"Don't start with me, Shi Yun! You also changed out our plans without even notifying me." Mi Young retorts, shooting Shi Yun an icy glare. This made the other party shut up. He only lets out an annoyed huff before he storms off to the farthest sitting spot from Mi Young.

Using this as his cue to talk, Jong In tells the three of them the plan he has made.

"So you meant to say, I will act as bait?" Xiao Lu asks while pointing at himself.

"Well, that would be the best choice since you are from the Anemo faction and it would help us deceive our enemy." Jong In shrugs. "Aside from that, you're a huge threat to them. I'm sure if their captain realizes from what faction you are, he might be the one who will chase you."

"To cut it short, you just have to run and hide from them, just keep them busy while we try to get the flag from their base. You don't have to fight with their captain since you don't have the same role as him." Mi Young says. She gives Xiao Lu an expectant look before the boy sighs while rolling his eyes.

"Fine." The other party says. Then he gives Mi Young a pointed look, "But you promise to fight with me after the class battle ends."

"I promise." Mi Young swears.

"What's up with him and fighting?" Jong In whispers to Mi Young but enough for Xiao Lu to hear him.

"That's none of your business you nosy monkey!" Xiao Lu says.

"Who are you calling monkey you short person!?"

"What did you say?!"

"Short! You're a short person!"

"Take that back!"

Mi Young sighs as she looks at the two male arguing and bickering in front of her. She shakes her head in disbelief and lets them be as she turns to face the camp again.

If not for the strong spell she has casted all around them to block out their noise, the other Pyro team would have already heard them with how loud the two boys were. Good thing she learned this technique from Hanabi just before they parted ways.

"Why do you keep on attracting loud losers?" Shi Yun suddenly questions as he sits beside Mi Young.

Although Mi Young finds his words offending, she couldn't help herself from letting out a small chuckle because somehow, the raven haired boy was right, Jong In and Xiao Lu are indeed a bunch of loud teenagers. She just hopes Kwon Jin Young wouldn't find them or they would have a hard time concealing their noises.

"They're still my friends." Mi Young answers, eyes not leaving the camp a couple of meters away from them.

"Whatever they're still losers, especially Se Heon." Shi Yun says.

Hearing the other boy's name coming from Shi Yun's mouth reminded Mi Young of Se Heon's situation. "Speaking of Se Heon, I hope he's doing fine."

The black haired girl hears Shi Yun let out a sound akin to a small grunt before the other party answers, "I'm sure Ji Sung is taking care of him. They're both losers anyway."

"Stop saying the word loser. They're both brave and amazing, okay? What's up with you?" Mi Young questions sounding annoyed. She hates it if someone says bad comments about her friends.

"Well they chose a different element than ours. What else would I call them except for losers?"

"So are you saying that all of the other users except the Pyro users, are a bunch of losers?"

"N-No…"

"Then stop saying that! You don't know how much trouble and disappointment they try to receive from everyone around them. The last thing you can do is support and respect them." Mi Young says in a grave voice. She can feel her blood starting to boil just by remembering the troubles and all the hate Ji Sung and Se Heon received before just because they weren't chosen by their birth elements. She can somehow relate to them which is why she gets easily annoyed if someone misspoke about her two friends.

Shi Yun remained silent beside her which Mi Young truly appreciates because if she hears another hateful comment coming out from the other party she would have strangled him right there even if he's from the same faction as her.

They remained seated for a couple of minutes with Jong In and Xiao Lu still bickering behind them when a movement from the other side of the woods caught their attention.

"Holy shi*t is that…" Mi Young hears Shi Yun whispering beside her, his voice shocked and concerned at the same time.

"F*ck. This is not good." Mi Young says as she quickly gets to her feet, Shi Yun follows her as well.

The sudden movement and alertness from the two caught the attention of the two males behind them, so they immediately stopped bickering while following the two other student's gaze.

"What's up guys?" Xiao Lu asks. Then he saw the girl running from the other side of the forest and straight to the spot where the other Pyro faction was staying. It seems like the girl is running away from something or someone and it looks like she still hasn't seen the base of the other Pyro faction which is definitely a dangerous move.

"That's Moon Byul!" Jong In announces as he looks at their team member who was looking so scared and tired as she runs away from whoever is chasing her.

"Change of plans." Mi Young announces as she gets ready to run towards where her teammate was. "Charge ahead and help Moon Byul.. The rest is up to fate."
