The Unsurpassed Maiden
Chapter 90 - 90 - Unknown Stranger
"You want me to come with you and infiltrate their headquarters? For what? For the sake of proving your theory?" Mi Young asks, sounding incredibly confused. She looks at Kwang Soo who was looking at her like he was annoyed. "And now you're the one who's annoyed."
"I didn't say anything. But you're just talking way too much and it's irritating to hear your loud and shrieky voice. You sound like a mouse who was caught in a trap." Kwang Soo says with his famous blank expression.
"I do not sound like a mouse."
"Yes you do."
"I do not!" Mi Young turns to their teacher to ask for her help. "Tell him I do not sound like a mouse."
The white haired teacher just smiles before shrugging her shoulders at her student. Mi Young looks expectantly at her professor, "Come on, teacher. Say something!"
"What? I am a neutral person. I do not pick sides." Lady Ning Gwang says before sending the black haired girl a wink.
Mi Young grumbles under her breath while she turns her attention back to Kwang Soo. "Why do you want to infiltrate their headquarters so much? We've only been here for a couple of hours and you are already causing trouble."
"I haven't done anything yet so I want you to take back your words." Kwang Soo says.
"Still, you are about to do something stupid and dangerous and it could severe the relationship of this city and our school." The young girl says with a serious expression. She doesn't want to be chased out from this beautiful city soon when she just got her first taste of freedom.
"Hate to say this but the girl is right, you might get into trouble if you continue with your plan." Lady Ning Gwang comments.
"Well, thank you." The black haired girl says while giving her teacher a sarcastic look.
As if he didn't hear anything Mi Young just said, Kwang Soo stands up from the bed and starts to walk off towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Mi Young shouts at him.
"Headquarters." That was all the boy says before he storms off alone.
Mi Young looks at their teacher, "Can't you do something? Hello?"
"Kwang Soo is hard headed. If you try to stop him, he'll double his efforts to make his plan successful." Lady Ning Gwang explained without even pausing.
"Why does he do that?" The black haired girl questions. She really doesn't get the boy's obsession with this magical item that he's not even sure is true.
"It is his way to slap you in the face if his plan succeeds." The white haired teacher says with a shrug. "We tried many times to stop him from embarrassing teachers or fighting with other students but he doesn't listen to us."
"You're more powerful than him. Perhaps you can punish him or something."
"That doesn't work on that child." Lady Ning Gwang says with a chuckle. "If you wish to stop him then do everything you can as well. I'm sure you have an idea."
"What do you even mean by that?" Mi Young questions. She waited for her teacher's response but she didn't get any.
So she sighs before she follows Kwang Soo through the door. But before she can fully exit the room, she stops and without glancing at her teacher, says in a small voice, "You'll help us if anything bad happens, right?"
The young girl waited for another reply but she only got a small chuckle from her teacher again. However, it made Mi Young somehow feel more relieved because she knows Lady Ning Gwang always got their back.
"Where the hell did that man go?" Mi Young whispers as she searches for her senior. She went from every alley near the place where they were staying but the boy was nowhere to be found already. "It hasn't even been thirty minutes since he left."
The black haired girl continued to search for Kwang Soo but unfortunately, she couldn't even get a glimpse of the boy's shadow. Sighing in disbelief, Mi Young decided to go to the place where she knew the other party was heading. However, she stops when she remembers that she doesn't know how to get to that place.
She only walked there once, and it was Kwang Soo who was leading the way. She was also too preoccupied at that time so she wasn't able to see and remember much of her surroundings. Aside from that, she remembered that it was in a place where people usually don't go but she doesn't know where to start since it hasn't been a day since she arrived here.
"F*ck my life." The young girl whispers to herself as she crouches down on a stone pavement.
She noticed that she was on an empty street where a lot of houses were located. It didn't look like the place where the headquarters could be and it's making the young girl feel even more frustrated, knowing that she's lost.
"This is all Kwang Soo's fault. I hope he gets caught." The black haired girl says to herself one more time.
Seeing that her small operation of searching for the boy is failing, she sighs one more time before she starts to walk off where she started. However, when she was about to turn into a corner alley, she bumped herself into something….or more like someone.
"Hey, are you okay?" Mi Young hears the other party ask. It somehow sounded feminine but Mi Young thinks it could also be a boy since there are also a lot of male who have soft voices. She looks up and sees a figure covered with a cloak, holding out a hand at her. "Come on."
Noticing that the other party was waiting for her and that she really looked stupid sitting on the cold ground, she decide to reach out for the other's hand.
It felt soft and familiar.
"I'm sorry for bumping into you. I didn't see that coming."
"Well, if you take off your cloak which is covering much of your face then maybe you can see the way more clearly." The black haired girl says, not even noticing that she somehow sounded sarcastic. Mi Young was about to apologize for her rude behavior towards the stranger but the other party's chuckle stops her.
"I'm sorry, I just like to keep my cloak with me since I'm not very confident with my figure." The other party says in between chuckles.
"Is that so?" That was all Mi Young can say as she eyes the person in front of her.
She notices that the figure was a few inches taller than her and she couldn't quite tell if the other person was a male or female seeing that he or she is literally covered in a black cloak.
"Are you some kind of a criminal or a fugitive?" Mi Young didn't mean to ask. This earned another laugh from the other party. Mi Young, once again, couldn't guess the gender of the cloaked-figure in front of her seeing as the stranger's laughter is also muffled with its cloak. Only the stranger's nose can be seen. "You're really suspicious, you know."
"I know but I can't help it." The other person says. Mi Young knows that the other party was smiling based on how the sound comes out from his or her mouth. However, she still couldn't guess the stranger's gender. "What are you doing at this side of the town anyway?"
"Why? What's in this place?"
The other person pauses before he or she chuckles. "Are you new here?"
Mi Young rolled her eyes at the other person. "Would I be asking if I'm not?"
"That's true. Anyway, this is the village where the High Lords are staying. And seeing as you are here without being caught by the guards, I'm guessing you walked all your way here and used the back and secluded part of the village." The cloaked figure says.
"The back?" Mi Young asks. She looks back at the place where she came from and then looks at the figure again. "I don't know. I just used it."
"You don't even know. That's cute."
"Anyway, can I ask you something?" Mi Young asks. She knows it's very dangerous to ask for a stranger to lead her the way since she might get into serious trouble with it but she had no choice and based on the stranger's body language, he or she doesn't seem like a bad person. But again, the person is fully cloaked.
"It seems like you're having trouble deciding whether to ask me for help or not." The other party says while Mi Young took her time deciding.
The black haired girl pouts before crossing her arms at the other person. "Hm. You're observant but yes, you're right. I'm having second thoughts whether I should ask you to help me find my way back to the heart of the city or not."
"Why do you even want to ask me? I mean, I'm fully cloaked and it's really suspicious right?" The other person questions.
"That's true. But then again, you offered your hand to me earlier and even apologized for bumping into me. If a suspicious person or a fugitive happens to be in that position, I know they won't even bother helping me." Mi Young points out.
The cloaked person seemed to hum at her. "That's true as well. How come do you know about the behaviors of criminals? Perhaps, you're the criminal here."
Mi Young, for some reason, finds the other party's words hilarious.. Then after spending a few more minutes laughing, the black haired girl stops and with a cold voice she says, "If I was a criminal, you'd be long dead by now."
"I didn't say anything. But you're just talking way too much and it's irritating to hear your loud and shrieky voice. You sound like a mouse who was caught in a trap." Kwang Soo says with his famous blank expression.
