The Unsurpassed Maiden

"What is your HQ doing here? Shouldn't the headquarters be located at the center of the city so in case of trouble they can easily help?" Mi Young asks while they were walking on a narrow corridor, that according to the Vice Captain, was the 'way' to their real headquarters.

"That's true but we still have another headquarters in the heart of the city."

"So what's this thing doing here then?" Mi Young questions.

"Only higher ranking officials get to see and enter this part of our headquarters. All the top secrets of the city is here so only those officials which are trusted by the Grand Master as well as the High Lords are allowed to look at them." The Vice Captain says while pressing down a few buttons on the wall.

Mi Young looked at what he was doing until the wall started moving, revealing a secret passage that wasn't there seconds ago.

The black haired girl whistles before giving the Vice Captain a raised eyebrow. "Fancy."

"After you." The blue haired man says before letting the two students enter the door first and following them right after.

"So is this elevator going up or down?" Mi Young asks as she scans their surroundings.

She hears the blue haired man chuckling before he starts to press a new set of buttons again. "Neither."

"What do you mean—" The black haired girl wasn't even able to finish her sentence when the elevator started moving sideways. "What the hell!?"

The Vice Captain chuckles again, "Because it's going sideways."

After a few minutes of riding the elevator, the small room where the three Mages were standing finally halted.

The black haired girl was even too dizzy to stand up so they waited for a few seconds before she could regain her footing before going out from the elevator doors.

"You should have told us beforehand that your elevator is not your usual lift that goes up and down." Mi Young scolds the Vice Captain. The blue haired man turned to look at her and gave her an apologetic smile to which she answered by raising her middle finger at him.

They entered a couple of doors again before they finally stopped walking and were now standing on the top of a very huge room that looks like a lab.

"What's this?"

"May I present to you guys, our headquarters." The blue haired Vice Captain says with a smile.

"So when are we going down?" Mi Young asks while eyeing the people who were busy doing their businesses downstairs.

"Uhhh you're not going there though." The Vice Captain says.

Mi Young turned towards him. "But I thought you're going to show us around."

"I'm only allowed to show you up until here. Visitors can't go inside unless they have an authorized letter signed by the Grand Master or the High Lords." The man says while giving Mi Young a shrug.

"Wow. So much for your tour." The young girl says while giving the man a sarcastic smile.

"Hey, at least you get to see how cool it is even from above." The man reasons out.

Mi Young just grunted as a reply. She really wanted to go down and explore the whole vicinity but the rules and laws in this city just keep on stopping her. The Vice Captain was right, the whole place looks really cool.

"Since we don't have anything else to do here, can you lead us back?" Kwang Soo suddenly says after his very long silence. Mi Young noticed that the other boy kept silent the whole time they were on their way here.

"You don't want to stay longer?" The Vice Captain politely asks.

Kwang Soo scoffs at him. "Man, you're not just a bad tour guide. You're also bad at hospitality."

"What do you mean?" The blue haired man asks. He sounded genuinely confused with Kwang Soo's words.

"For f*ck's sake." Kwang Soo whispers before he turns around and starts to walk back towards where they came from alone.

The Vice Captain calls out for the other male but Kwang Soo never looks back once. So the blue haired shifted his attention from Kwang Soo down to the boy's companion, which is Mi Young.

"What does he mean by that?"

Mi Young rolls her eyes at the man. "Go and research about it."

After that, the black haired girl starts to walk as well, leaving the Vice Captain really confused while scratching his head.

"Are people from the capital this rude?" The man whispers to himself while looking at the two retreating figures ahead of him.

When they finally went back to where they came from, Mi Young didn't waste any time before she ran up to catch her senior who was already walking outside the fences of the old and abandoned house.

"Kwang Soo!" Mi Young calls out. The older one didn't stop though. "Kwang Soo! Hey! Wait up!"

Even though Mi Young kept on shouting his name, the boy didn't dare give her any glance at all, just walking straight ahead like he didn't hear anything.

However, when he was about to take another step forward, the ground below suddenly stopped his feet from moving.

The senior looked at his feet and saw the ground already locked up around them. "The f*ck?"

"Finally caught you." Mi Young says with a grin as she steps in front of the young man.

Kwang Soo crosses his arms at her before saying, "What do you want, shrimp?"

"Why didn't you stop? I kept on calling you." The black haired girl says while giving the man a soft glare.

"Eyes."

"Huh?"

"Eyes." The boy whispers again.

"What do you mean?"

"There were a couple of eyes watching us. To be honest, it's more than a lot. I'm surprised you hadn't noticed it." Kwang Soo says, still whispering so no one can hear him talk.

"I felt that someone was indeed watching me but I ignored it. So it was really there though?" Mi Young asks.

"Uhn. But I guess it's best if we don't talk here, yeah?" Kwang Soo tells the young girl. Mi Young nodded her head in understanding.

The black haired girl was about to start walking again when she felt a hand grip her shoulder. She turns around to look at Kwang Soo and asks, "What? I thought we're not going to talk here about it."

"Yes. But can you at least get this earth off me first?" The older boy says while giving the girl an eye roll but also looking at her with pleading eyes. He's not going to tell the girl his feet are starting to ache because he thinks the girl might use it against him in the future. So he endured it and hoped that Mi Young would still get his point across.

"Sure." The black haired girl says without second thoughts before she snaps out her hand and the feet that were once holding Kwang Soo down. Vanishes.

"Thanks. But I think you should be more careful with using your abilities while we're here." The older party says before he starts to walk off once again. But before he could take another step forward he said in a very low voice, "You never knew who could be watching."

Upon hearing what the other party said, Mi Young stops on her track as well. She tries to shake off that heavy feeling that kept on creeping all over her the moment she stepped inside the area.

Mi Young wonders how many eyes should be watching her.

And if she knows if those eyes could be familiar.

"Where did you go?" Lady Ning Gwang asks the moment Mi Young stepped inside their shared bedroom.

Mi Young sighs before fully stepping inside their bedroom. "Somewhere."

"That's nice." The teacher says with an eye roll.

"Well, why don't you ask your favorite student here? He sure has walked around more than me." The black haired girl says before sitting down on the bed next to her teacher.

The both of them looked at Kwang Soo who was currently leaning up against the headboard with his eyes closed.

They both waited for a few seconds but no words came out from the boy's mouth.

"Kwang Soo?" Lady Ning Gwang asks with an expectant voice.

It took the boy a few more seconds before responding. "I searched for a place where I think should their magical item be hidden."

"Magical item? The thing you were talking about earlier? The one you think that's hel;ping the people here produce unlimited mana?" The black haired girl asks while eyeing the boy's sleeping figure.

"Uhn. I think it's somewhere here."

"Do you really believe that they have hidden something like that here inside their city's walls?" The white haired teacher questions, also getting curious with her student's hypothesis.

"I'm sure of it. I have this huge feeling that they're hiding something in their headquarters." Kwang Soo continues.

"Headquarters?" Lady Ling Gwang asks.

"Of course they're hiding something there. It's their headquarters and the Vice Captain Even said that most of their city's top-secret is hidden there." Mi Young explains.

"I know, which is why I'm finding a way so I could get in tonight." The boy says, not even opening his eyes to give the two females a glance.

"Get in? In their headquarters?" Mi Young questions.

"You heard me."

"Yeah I did but you saw how hard it is to get inside there! We'll get caught the moment we step foot around their perimeter." The young girl says while giving the man a mean look.

"I never said you would come with me." Kwang Soo says before finally opening his eyes to look at Mi Young.. Then he sits up and says, "But if you want to come you're free to go."
