Chapter 196 - "These are keys for upstairs... would you like a tour?" (3)

“Why do you want to come here if you can’t eat spicy food?” Jiang MingYuan’s suffering made Cheng Huan lost her appetite as well. She put down her chopsticks, sighed, and went to get the server outside of the room. She added a few more non-spicy dishes so that nobody would starve.

After dinner, Jiang MingYuan went to take care of the bill and then to drive the car over. When the car stopped on the side of the street, Cheng Huan opened up the car door and placed XingXing on the backseat. After she had finished buckling him up and closed the car door, she said to him, “Let’s not go to places like this anymore. You can’t eat their food.”

Jiang MingYuan held onto the steering wheel and looked straight ahead. His handsome face was reflected in the rearview mirror along with his lips that were still reddened by the spice. He said to her, “But you like them.”

The sudden flirtatious words made it difficult for Cheng Huan to maintain her stern look. Her eyes darting around for a while and finally recollected herself when her cellphone went off.

It was a call from the landlords telling her that they had already arrived. It so happened that they, too, had arrived downstairs. Walking out, they met up with the landlords and walked inside of the apartment together.

As soon as they walked inside, the two landlords immediately checked out the place with their eyes. They went over to check on the other areas after they had looked through the living room. When they had gone through the entire place, they finally returned with their long faces and said everything looked fine.

Cheng Huan handed them the key and said, “Alright. We are going to take off if there is nothing else.”

“Okay.” The landlord, with the long face, took the key from her and grumbled how difficult it was to look for new renter with such short notice. He went on for a while before he noticed that his former renter was already nowhere to be seen by the time he was done grumbling.

After parting with her landlords, the three of them went over to their new place. Their new place was very close to where Jiang MingYuan worked. After he had parked, Jiang MingYuan walked out and pointed at the Jiang’s headquarter building and, much like any other parents wanted to show their best side to their children, said in a showy tone, “That’s where Daddy works.”

“Wow, it’s so tall!” said XingXing cooperatively. The Jiang’s headquarter had 30-something stories. It wasn’t too tall but its design was unique and was considered one of the landmark building in City C.

XingXing had seen this building on television a while back and had been curious about it. Now that he knew that was where Daddy worked, he wanted a tour of it even more.

Naturally, there was no reason why Jiang MingYuan would object to that request. He agreed to XingXing’s request right away. With XingXing in his hand, he walked inside of the elevator with Cheng Huan. He swiped the card, pushed the button, and they have arrived at Cheng Huan’s floor.

The chauffeur had already brought their stuff over and what had taken up the entire living room before only took up a small area here.

The new place was very large and the ceiling was high. It felt spaces and made one feel comfortable inside.

It was very well-equipped here, obviously a lot of effort had been put into it. When Cheng Huan went to unpack her things, she noticed a lot of what was said to be very difficult to find but very handy kitchenware.

These items alleviated a lot of Cheng Huan’s strange feeling in this new environment. She tidied up her stuff and went to thank Jiang MingYuan.

“It’s nothing,” said Jiang MingYuan as he handed the card in his hand over to her. “This is the access card for the elevator. You can access the top four floors with it.”

He then handed her a bundle of keys and walked her through which key to which door. After he had went through all of the rooms, there were still over half of the keys remaining.

“These keys are for the rooms upstairs…” Jiang MingYuan paused for a little. His lips were tight and his voice a little low. “Would you like me to… walk you through those as well?”
