The witch's rebirth

My eyes widen surprised. I suddenly wonder what Knight had seen in my future to have felt the need to manipulate me into working with him. My heart beat wild hopping for everything my aunts told me to be true and that he would be my mate, hope swelled inside ballooning up but my radical side knew it was just a plot to something. It was the little girl in me had hoped but I think I am too fragile.

Hell, it's been a lifetime. I think that shipped sailed long ago. My focus was on living a good life. Keeping my family safe. Sadly, even my all-powerful aunts couldn't escape destiny.

"It would be a one-time thing only?" I asked eventually.

The man was too dangerous.

The lady of the lake and her Knights of the Round Table looked at each other. They weren't really happy with me for saying but I was my aunt's niece and that held some power.

"That is for you to decide dear,"

"Can I have your word?"

"I'm afraid you'll have to ask for his word." answered the lady of the lake,"I can't speak for him. He might want to be around you."

"Why would he?"

"If he wouldn't bother you then it'll be a one-time thing,"

"But why do I feel a but coming," I asked looking into her eyes.

A mistake, it seems to trigger something. Shit. The lady life flashes through me. A bit of my rebirth made sense. It was part of my bloodline. And a part of hers. We were related.

"Why?"

"My lady move away from the female slowly." said one Knight in a calm control tone.

"Why?"

"My lady move away from the female slowly. Now!" said another Knight in an even more calm control tone.

A droplet of water hit my forehead at the very same moment. It was the moment I knew I was in trouble. I looked up instinctively and saw a very strong demon with black aura. I've never seen anything with black aura before and I've been around a lot of beings even demons from the depth of hell still had color in their auras. Nothing is ever black as it would seem was a lesson I learn so long ago but today I was facing the exception in unknown territory that was supposedly one of the highest secured places ever to be built.

Pain, I felt my body converse and the gold thread activating the protection. At full force it slammed against me the impact pushed the chair I was sitting over. Then the magic was push back to whoever sent it, reflected back to its origin.
