This Time, It's Forever

After series of crying and coaxing, they finally settle down at the seating area. Lyla kept on holding onto Dylan's hand tightly as if she was scared he will leave her alone. Dylan thought of letting her talk alone with them. To sort out what was missing and to clear up her painful past. But seeing her clutching his hand tightly, he had no choice but to sit next to her. Their kids obediently sat next to them also. Probably sensing their mother is not feeling happy, they sat there giving off an aura to not hurt their mother. Other members of the Lyon who saw these stance only smile. It was Logan who broke the tense atmosphere.

"How are you Lyla?" he asked in his gentle voice. Something that he always use in front of his wife. Now that he's with his daughter, he wanted to treat her right.

"I'm good." answering the question without any intention to say more. She felt like she needed more time for this but she knew it has been too long. It's been years. And she had to know the truth.

"No. No. We didn't give you away. And yes, you are our real daughter. You have my eyes and your mother's face. Without a doubt you are our daughter. And please, don't say that. We have been looking for you for all these years and it wasn't our intention to raise other people's kid. We were tricked. The only reason we're only letting that 'fake' live with us is we want to let the person behind her went out from his hiding. It's not that we can't track him but it's difficult to fight in his territory no matter how many backups we have. Which is why we ended up 'raising' that person just for the sake of revenge. He took you away from us and we couldn't find you no matter how hard we search. It was only because Dylan's company shot up to fame threatening the Lyon's position that got me digging further. Only to realize there's not much of info that i could find about him. Making me try harder when finally i found out about you. Thus, i invited you to this annual dinner just so we could finally meet you and clear up the misunderstanding." Logan explained. Trying his hard to convince his daughter that they didn't abandoned her for the past few years.

"Your father has never stopped searching Lyla. Your brothers are also involve in this. Please believe us. Now that we found you, you're already someone's wife and have become a mother. We are so sorry for appearing so late but we really did tried our best to seek for you. Our enemy is just good at hiding you away and replacing you with his offspring. It was hard for us. That 'fake daughter' that we raise is living in a life that should have been yours. We could have pamper and protect you while you were growing but unfortunately you were taken away and we never see you again. Will you forgive us for coming so late? For suddenly barging into your peaceful life?" This time Lyla's mother Diana spoke up. Lyla was quite for a little while. Processing every information and somehow her heart start to feel warm. Dylan tugged onto her tightly held hands and making Lyla turn her gaze toward him. Dylan nodded his head and smile before releasing her hand and push her forward. With that little nudge from her husband, she finally move and hugged her mother and father and starts to cry all over again. Crying like a little girl and bit by bit she told her parents everything that she have been through making the people around her turned stiff and livid. Dylan who already knew bit of her past also becomes tense when he heard she told her parent all about the abuse she have gone through and how it affected her. Her brothers were clenching their jaws hard while her grandparent stood up and start hugging her also. Lyla who didn't realize her words bring turmoil in everyone's heart only let herself cry to sleep in her parent's warm hug. Dylan was already at the side picking her exhausted body while her parent's stood aside and give way to Dylan. Logan glance at Reynold who led Dylan towards the bedroom.

After carefully tucked his tired wife onto the bed, he returned to the seating area and saw his kids start warming up to his wife's family. Logan who saw Dylan walked up to him and start asking him about Lyla for the past few years. He answered what he knew and from his own investigation. Reynold, Adam and Jayden joined in as well. All of them came to a conclusion, they will revenge.
