This Time, It's Forever

Chapter 54:Hello Hubby

Life after being shot is starting to annoy Lyla. Ever since that incident, Jake is back being her bodyguard. Along with Ron who was supposed to be Dylan's Personal Assistant. He was the leader of Dylan's Shadow team. Having fail at protecting Lyla twice, Ron volunteer to be Lyla's bodyguard. Previously Lyla still have her freedom because it's easy for her to deal with Jake. A little lie here and there. But with Ron, it's like you're talking to a wall. He only listen to Dylan. Not only that, everywhere she goes, there will be ten bodyguards surrounding them. And she had to inform Ron what are her plan for the next day the night before. It's been going for two weeks now and it's starting to get on her nerve. She's been wanting to find a chance to talk with Dylan but he's been busy for the past few days. Coincidentally. Until she found a receipt from his trousers. She almost crumples the receipt but decided to hold it in. Right now she's in the restaurant and like the last time, she call Brittany for help. This time by hook and by crook she will find a way to escape from Ron's eagle eye. She's not a genius for nothing.

After she accidentally found the hotel receipt from Dylan's trousers, she already made out her plan. She secretly call Brittany to come to the restaurant and give a little lie to Alexander. He's going to be her bait to distract Ron's eagle eye. She need to confront Dylan and the only to catch that sneaky man is coming to the company. Right now she doesn't care about hiding from the world. She saw Alexander coming in the restaurant and she hurriedly hide herself somewhere in the kitchen that only she knows.

"Hi Ron, have you seen Lyla? Need to ask her to cook something special for my wife and i. It's been a long time we haven't had a candle light dinner." Alexander said as soon as he spotted Ron who was doing a patrol around the restaurant.

"She should be inside the kitchen. It is her working place." Ron answered. Alexander nodded and proceed going to the kitchen. After 15 minutes, he came out looking confused. He went back to Ron and seeing his face making Ron feeling dreadful.

"I didn't see her inside the kitchen. Are you sure she's in there?" Alexander scrunched up his forehead. Ron immediately ran inside the kitchen and look every part of the kitchen in case there's some clues. Jake soon follows.

"What happen?" Jake ask.

"She's gone." Ron answered back.

"Gone?"

"Gone?"

Both Alexander and Jake shouted at him. Looking incredulous, Ron send code Red to other bodyguards and to Dylan. However his device doesn't seem to be working nor his phone. He frowned. Not only his but it seem Jake and Alexander encounter the same thing.

"When was the last time you checked upon Lyla?" Jake ask Ron.

"About 10 minutes ago. She was busy cooking for the customer's order." Ron said.

"Then that means whoever kidnap her shouldn't be far. No one saw any suspicious car and there's only one way here. Other guards would have notify us. They must have gone by foot. We need to head out now." This time Jake took charge since he's more familiar with the surrounding compare to Ron. Despite Ron the leader of Shadow team but due to Jake's laziness on taking such a big responsibility, he gave that position to Ron. Now that things turn out this way, he had to take charge. He can't imagine what Dylan would do if he found out that Lyla got kidnapped again. They need to act fast. Just like that, Ron and Jake are in pursuit while trying to contact their other guards. Alexander was left all alone inside the kitchen feeling panic. He tried to call his wife to inform about Lyla's missing but his phone also encounters the same thing. His wife must be anxious if she knew about Lyla's mishap.

"Is it going to be another cliche story where you barge into the office to find some shameless b**** sitting on your husband lap? I always wondered if it is exciting to watch like the usual story that i've watched and read. Can i come along with you?" The endless chatter of her bestfriend is giving her a headache.

"You really need to stop watching or reading that sort of story. I've passed that plot of the story before and this is another plot that you haven't seen." Lyla said while clutching onto the paper that she have been holding.

"What? I miss watching the real life episode? When did that happen? Then what episodes is this?" Brittany asked. She thought it was because her husband cheating on her but it turns out not. Lyla rolled her eyes hearing the question. Her friend really need to stop watching those drama. She just ignore Brittany and kept her mouth shut no matter how much her friend pester her. Thankfully the ride inside the elevator was short. Otherwise she'll go insane listening to the ridiculous plot that Brittany can think of. Ignoring the secretary, she made her way to Dylan's office. Without knocking or letting anyone alerting the man inside, she open the heavy door. It feels like dejavu. Only this time the situation is a little bit different. The startled man and along with 'intimate' scene in front of her made her speechless but refuse on letting it show. Instead she walked in with Brittany gaping behind her and in her lazy tone she greeted the man.

"Hello, hubby."
