This Time, It's Forever

Chapter 56:Losing you

Inside the bedroom, Lyla was lying on her back staring at the ceiling. It wasn't her intention to get so emotional but apparently the stress that she's been keeping while tolerating her husband new security finally taking its toll. When she saw the suspicious scene the moment she barged into his office, she wasn't angry. More like she was frustrated. Frustrated with the way her husband ignoring her. Delaying the talks that they needed. The moment she found the hotel receipt, she knew Dylan is avoiding her. Being married to him for almost three years, she somehow know him inside out. And she knows he knew her everything. They both could easily guess each other's mind. Probably because they understand each other so much, it becomes a problem. A problem where both side decided to be stubborn. Just like the past few days. She sighed. Turning her body around and closing her eyes. If only she could shut her head from thinking. The matter are consider small if one were to compare with other couple's problem. But it can easily get big if none of them won't give in. As she contemplate and at the same time trying to coax her wild heart to accept, a pair of big hands made it's way to her waist, hugging her close to warmth behind her. She smile thinly. The warm breath on her neck with countless of kisses finally made her turn towards the man. As soon as she face Dylan who look exhausted with baggy eyes, hot tears streaming onto her face. She end up crying on his chest while he end up patting her back soothing her sadness.

The moment Dylan reach home, he went inside their bedroom straight away. Thankfully it was not locked. And when he saw her looking so lifeless, he blame himself once again for restricting her freedom. But he too could not let her go unprotected. He have failed in protecting her twice and he definitely wouldn't want a third time happening. Even if he had to break one of her wings. Howbeit, seeing her like this he knew he made the wrong decision. In addition, her cries today made him realize how he became such a jerk for trapping her in a big cage just like her fake family used to do.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Dylan kept on apologizing when Lyla can't stop her tears from flowing out. No matter how hard she tried to make it stop, it just keep on coming out. In the end, she wailed her heart out.

"I can't Dylan. I don't want this anymore. I know you love me and fear for my safety but i don't want to be trapped like this. It reminded me of how they used to treat me back then. I love you. I really do. But i'm scared. I'm scared I'll run away Dylan. I'm scared when it comes i myself failed in convincing my heart to tolerate, I will leave you and our kids behind. I don't want anymore of this Dylan. I know you're scared but i can't handle it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

When Dylan heard this, his heart is in great pain. For Lyla to be wailing this hard while trying to tolerate his arrangement, once again he fail in protecting her. He's the one who hurt her. He's the one who inflicted the trauma in her. No matter how long it is, he should have known that her trauma will always be there and it cannot be healed. And he's adding another one in her heart. He cupped her wet face and using his thumb, wipe away the tears that are still falling from her eyes. He then, kissed both of her eyes before pulling her into his hug.

"I'm sorry. I'll take back everyone. I'm sorry honey. I'm sorry for making you remember the ugly past. I'm too scared in losing you nor seeing you hurt again. I don't want that to happen again. But this time i was the one who made you in so much. In my fear and trying to protecting, i end up hurting you. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'll take back everyone and we'll go back to how we used to be. I'll start working from home from now. We'll go back how we used to be before everything becomes big. Or should i start selling the company? Which one is the best? As long as i'm always beside you, i'm fine with any work." He start planning and willing to give up everything for her. He thought Lyla would agree but she shook her head. In her sobs, she disagree his suggestion.

"That's our company hubby. It's something for our kids in future and i don't want you to give up the position just because of me again. You love handling the business and i don't want to take that joy away from you. No one will hurt me from now on. If you're worried, i can stop working at the restaurant for a while and go wherever you go. Give your assistant a long holiday and let me handle the work with you. Just like we used to do."

"Are you sure? I thought you don't like working in the office." He asked, doubting his wife's word.

"Then, since Braxton is so idle nowadays let him took over while we both head for a long holiday. Without kids. Just the two of us." It's been a while for them to have some private time together. And she somehow felt like they both need it more since she can sense Dylan's fear of her getting hurt is getting worse ever since she got shot in front of him. She knew he's been having nightmare at night. And with this long holiday just the two of them alone, she wanted him to realize she is safe. Besides that, with him around her heart will settle on its own.

Hearing that from Lyla made him smile and without any other question, Dylan agrees. This time their kids won't bother his time with Lyla. And just like that, Dylan easily made arrangement as next day, they are on their way to the destination that they both agree upon. Leaving disgruntled triplets and a certain 'nanny' behind.
