137. The Former Admirer of Han Mingxu

Translator: Guy Gone Bad

“What have you done?” With a cell phone in his hand, Max stared in astonishment at the man in bed. “How dared you have your men shadow Nancheng Lie?” Was this guy crazy?

The man opened his eyes and looked at Max lazily. “You finally told me his name.”

“You know the Nancheng family is powerful. Don’t provoke him.” Max frowned. The man’s tone was ironical, but Max didn’t take it to heart. They couldn’t afford to offend the Nancheng family.

“Hahaha…” The man suddenly burst into laughter as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world. “Don’t provoke him? But why are you so keen on seducing him? You had sex with him in his car that night, didn’t you? I know very well that you are a man of easy virtue.” If he hadn’t spoken in such a vicious tone, Max would have thought that he was jealous.

“I just…” To be honest, he just wanted to get some comfort from Nancheng Lie, but he knew that no one would believe him. “What do you want?” asked Max. He felt responsible for this guy’s paranoia.

“Uh-huh, I want to get some money from Nancheng Lie.”

Max blurted out, “You can’t do that.”

“Humph! Do you think you have the right to play God in my life? Or are you anxious about your old flame because I’m gonna wangle money out of him?” The man’s tone became colder and sharper.

“You know I love your…”

“Shut up!” The man picked up an ashtray from the bedside table and threw it forward with all his strength. “Don’t say his name. You are not qualified to mention his name. You son of a bitch.” The man jumped out of the bed, grabbed Max by the hair, pinned him down on the bed, and then plunged deeply into him without foreplay.

Max felt a sharp pain. Although they had made love last night, Max still got hurt for being treated so rudely. After all, he was not a woman. Most people would cry and shout if they were hurt, but Max was an exception. He bit his lips hard to hold back the cry of pain.

“Cry! Cry out! Damn it! He wouldn’t have died if you had never appeared in his life.” The man kept driving in and out of Max’s body, tears rolling down his face and dripping on to Max’s back. Max’s heart ached for him.

“Sorry… I’m sorry…” Max whispered silently. He couldn’t think of any other words to say.

The next morning Nancheng Lie was in high spirits. “Xu, it’s time to wake up and get out of bed. Come one, get up and have breakfast.” He took Li Qinghao’s arm and tried to pull him out of bed.

“Don’t touch me.” Li Qinghao kicked Nancheng Lie away.

‘By the time we got home, I was too tired to do anything active. How could this guy wake me up so early? I remember he likes to sleep late. We went to a cinema last night after we left the night market. The ticket seller recommended the all-night movie ticket to us because it was the same price as an ordinary movie ticket. Lie thought that it was highly cost-effective, so he bought two all-night movie tickets without hesitation. We stayed at the cinema until three in the morning. I was too sleepy to keep on watching, so we came home.

It’s only nine o’clock. I have only slept for less than five hours. Don’t forget that I’m a patient! I have a potential illness which will break out at any time,’ Li Qinghao thought angrily.

“Xu, guess who I met when I went out to buy breakfast just now?”

“None of my business.” Li Qinghao covered his head with the quilt and tried to get to sleep again.

“Do you remember that Aquarius fatty named Han Ping? He’s our junior high school classmate, remember?” Nancheng Lie said animatedly, regardless of whether Li Qinghao was listening.

“No, he didn’t impress me much,” replied Li Qinghao. Nothing and nobody could impress him unless it had something to do with Nancheng Lie.

When they were in junior middle school, because of Han Ping, Nancheng Lie found himself in love with Han Mingxu.

“He once professed his love to you, remember?” Han Ping was the first boy to express his love to Han Mingxu. How could he forget Han Ping?

Li Qinghao, who wrapped himself in the quilt, was attracted by what Nancheng Lie said. He pulled himself out of his heap of covers and looked sleepily at Nancheng Lie with two black rimmed eyes. “When I was in junior high school, many people professed their love to me. But later, for some unknown reason, they all kept away from me.”

Hearing this, Nancheng Lie’s lips twitched. He looked away, not daring to look Li Qinghao in the eye, because he was afraid of being see through. He was very jealous and possessive about Han Mingxu. So, he had done something to prevent others from approaching Han Mingxu.

To be honest, even if Xu hadn’t accepted him, he couldn’t have allowed Xu to be with others. He would prefer to see Xu stay single forever. In this way he could always be with Xu, even if Xu just regarded him as a friend. Therefore, as he realized that he loved Han Mingxu, he began to be alert to all the people who were well disposed towards Han Mingxu. He went to great lengths to isolate them from Han Mingxu.

“He used to be fat, but now he’s very thin.”

Li Qinghao narrowed his eyes and went back to bed. The topic was unattractive to him.

“What’s more, he moved to the apartment below ours. If he hadn’t greeted me, I couldn’t have recognized him. That guy went abroad after graduating from junior high school. He has changed so much that I even suspect that he has had cosmetic surgery in Korea. By the way, he said many years ago he was in such a hurry to go abroad that he forgot to exchanged phone numbers with us. Now that he is back, he wants to organize a gathering of old classmates. He asked me if you would like to go to the class reunion. I think it’s a good idea. I haven’t contacted with some of the junior high school classmates for a long time. I really miss them.”

Li Qinghao was half asleep. Nancheng Lie’s voice floated gently into his ears. He didn’t believe what Nancheng said. As the young master of the Nancheng family, Nancheng Lie was always the object of flattery. He believed that all the old classmates must have kept in touch with Nancheng Lie. Judging from Nancheng Lie’s tone, Li Qinghao knew that Nancheng Lie really wanted to go to the class reunion. It was not because he missed those old classmates, but because he wanted to relive those happy old days with Han Mingxu.

Li Qinghao curved his lips into a smile and fell asleep again. Nancheng Lie’s voice intermittently flowed into his ears. He soon fell into a sound sleep.
