140. The Purpose of Han Ping’s visit

Translator: Guy Gone Bad

Li Qinghao was instantly on the alert, but he didn’t show it. Instead, he pretended to be a naive, shy boy.

A dull, red flush suffused Li Qinghao’s white face. He behaved like an adolescent boy, who felt shy and embarrassed after his secret was revealed. The artless sincerity on his face added to his charm. He looked like a real teenager.

Han Ping’s eyes lit up. At first, he thought that Li Qinghao was just a special boy; he was not very interested in Li Qinghao. Today he decided to come to visit Nancheng Lie because he had nothing to do. However, at the moment, he felt that the very blood in his veins was boiled. ‘It’s worth it to come here. This boy looks so beautiful and charming at this moment,’ Han Ping thought to himself.

He fixed his eyes on Li Qinghao. The gaze in his eyes was much like a wolf staring at its prey. Li Qinghao was honoured to be the prey of Han Ping. But in fact, it was too early to tell who was the prey.

Li Qinghao stared angrily at Han Ping and said in a provocative tone, “Yeah, I like my cousin. So what?” With that, he raised a supercilious eyebrow.

‘This boy is so cute,’ Han Ping thought.

“Fine.” He smiled and squashed into the apartment. “Does it mean that you are gay, too? If so, I will be very happy.”

Li Qinghao didn’t want to answer. “It’s none of your business,” he said. His lips curled up into an obvious, ironic smile. Han Ping could clearly see the hostility in his eyes.

“What are you smiling at?” Han Ping lowered his head and looked Li Qinghao in the eye. He was as tall as Nancheng Lie. In other words, he was much taller than Li Qinghao.

Li Qinghao didn’t like Han Ping’s tone of voice, because Han Ping seemed to treat him as a spoiled child. He also didn’t like being so close to Han Ping. However, he masked his dislike with a look of pride. He looked steadily at Han Ping and said, “You take a fancy to me, right?”

Han Ping didn’t answer. He still looked at Li Qinghao with a smile.

Li Qinghao decided to ignore Han Ping. He sat down on the sofa and began to eat his lunch. Nancheng Lie had ordered pizza delivery for him. He reached for the TV remote control and pressed the ‘play’ button.

Although it was clear that he wasn’t welcome by Li Qinghao, Han Ping still didn’t want to leave. He followed Li Qinghao into the living room and sat down on the sofa. He watched TV with Li Qinghao for a while before he could not resist asking, “How old are you?”

Li Qinghao raised his head, gave Han Ping a cold look and answered, “I’m under age.”

Han Ping’s lips gave a twitch. He knew that Li Qinghao was under age. He was asking Li Qinghao about his exact age, but it seemed that Li Qinghao didn’t intend to tell him the answer. “People of your age generally like to play computer games. Why do you like to watch the news?” Han Ping didn’t expect Li Qinghao to switch over to the International News Channel. At first, he thought that this boy was steady. A few minutes ago he felt that this boy was stubborn but cute. Now he felt that his opinion of Li Qinghao was completely wrong.

Li Qinghao snorted coldly, “I’m not an ignorant person. Don’t foist your superficial ideas on me.”

‘Uh, he has got a really fiery temper,’ Han Ping thought.

He asked, “May I have your name? I can’t always call you ‘Nancheng Lie’s cousin’, can I?” This was a mild question.

Lli Qinghao was full after eating half of the pizza. He raised his head and gazed at Han Ping for a few minutes. Han Ping felt uncomfortable under his intense gaze. Han Ping was about to raise his arms in surrender when Li Qinghao said, “No, I don’t want to tell you.” With that, he stood up and threw the leftover pizza into the garbage can. Then he turned to look at Han Ping and said, “I’m going out now. Can you get out of my apartment?”

How could he try to drive away his guest in such a rude way? Han Ping felt wronged. He didn’t know why Li Qinghao didn’t like him. He was good-looking, well-built and rich. Almost everyone liked him.

“Alas…” Han Ping sighed. He stood up and walked to the door. Then he leaned against the door and waited for Li Qinghao to go out together. Li Qinghao came to the door and bent to put on his shoes. Suddenly, Han Ping narrowed his eyes because he saw a love bite on Li Qinghao’s chest.

It was obviously a new love bite. Maybe it meant…

“Don’t look at what is contrary to propriety, bro.” Li Qinghao stepped into his shoes, straightened up, walked out and closed the door behind him. He knew what Han Ping was looking at. Last night when they had sex, Nancheng Lie restrained himself from leaving a mark on Li Qinghao’s neck and shoulders, but as for Li Qinghao’s chest and back, they were covered with love bites.

Anyway, that guy knew it was improper to leave a mark on Li Qinghao’s exposed skin, considering that he was a minor.

Han Ping smiled and asked, “Did you have sex with Lie?”

Li Qinghao rolled his eyes at Han Ping and said, “You are gossipy.” With that he walked into the elevator.

The elevator descended slowly to the next floor. Han Ping reluctantly walked out. He watched the elevator door slowly close. The expression in his eyes changed from tenderness to sharpness. In the elevator, Li Qinghao looked at his reflection at the mirror on the elevator’s wall, his eyes as cold as ice.

Mu Yinting was in a good mood. Li Qinghao heard Mu Yinting singing when he reached the front door of the detective agency. It was Tu Honggang’s song named “Repay the Country with Supreme Loyalty”. Different from Mu Yinting, Li Qinghao was in a particularly bad mood. He just wanted to enjoy a peaceful life with Nancheng Lie, but Han Ping approached them with ulterior motives.

Li Qinghao walked into the front door, and the queer atmosphere inside infected him. “What’s wrong?” He found Mia, who was very keen on dressing herself up, sat upright at the reception desk. At hearing his footsteps, Mia raised her head and stared mournfully at him.

Li Qinghao shivered and got a bad feeling. ‘Why is Mia looking at me like that? Boss Mu sounds excited, but the expression on Mia’s face tells me that something is wrong. What the hell is going on?’ Li Qinghao thought to himself.

As he came closer, he saw that Acker, Zhang Wei and Spy were all bending over the desk. They looked very tired. Seeing all three of them in the office, Li Qinghao had a hunch that they must have discovered a clue to the case about Lei Wen.

He walked upstairs to Mu Yinting’s office. The door was open. The sound of Mu Yinting singing was heard ringing loud and clear in the office.

“Xu, you’ve come.” Mu Yinting’s eyes lit up as if he had seen a pile of jewels. “We’ve solved the case about Lei Wen.”

As expected, the reason Mu Yinting was so excited was because of the case about Lei Wen.

“What have you found out about Lei Wen?” Li Qinghao already knew that Lei Wen must have something to do with Max, so he was not very interested in the investigation result. His casual attitude aroused Mu Yinting’s suspicions. Seeing that Li Qinghao’s eyebrows knitted together in a preoccupied frown, Mu Yinting asked, “What’s on your mind?”

“Considering that you guys are idle, I took a new case,” Li Qinghao said frankly. “But it will be not convenient for me to see you when you launch an investigation.”

“You have something to do with the new case, right?” Mu Yinting hit the nail on the head.
