Chapter 177 - World 7.26

Before 3 months…

Asher was fidgeting his fingers, he was excited and nervous at the same time. After that night, he had decided to be more open towards William.

That's right! He had decided to confess his feelings. In so much excitement, he didn't even realize that he already texted the male to meet him near the coffee shop.

"Why is my heart racing too fast?" Asher mumbled as he shakes his head to lessen the tension inside him. He tightened the grip on his bag handle.

He was practicing almost every minute, he needed to choose the right words so that his confession would not turn to an awkward one.

His phone vibrated, must be a reply from William and he wasn't mistaken. The male told him to wait there because he just got out of the faculty after doing some errands.

Asher flinched in excitement and surprise, his cheeks tinted red immediately after replying that he was willing to wait there at the corner near the alley.

His phone vibrated again, but this time it was a call. A call from one of his underlings, he was really planning on taking a break today from his mafia group, because he wanted to spend this day only with William.

The call was persistent, in so much annoyance, Asher answered it. He was now in a bad mood and he was so sure that he would sue this man if the call wasn't important.

But before he could press the answer button, a forceful and hard thing delivered a strong blow towards his head.

Asher felt the throbbing pain behind his head, he was stiffened while his body was slowly getting numb. He didn't even realize that he was already down, weak and frail.

The last thing he saw was the red crimson blood flowing beside his head. That irony smells of it before he loses consciousness.

The doctors quickly took the stretchers out the moment the ambulance reached the hospital. All of them were moving too fast, wanting to save life on the line.

One of them stopped William before he could step inside the operating room. "Please just wait here," one of the nurses said. They don't have time so the doctors let William sign on those papers and proceed to do the operation.

In the meantime, William lifelessly dropped himself on the benches at the waiting area. He was speechless and still shocked, his lips are still half opened. Not knowing where to turn his gaze, heavy footsteps trudged the hospital corridors.

The sounds are getting clearer and clearer to his ears but William didn't even give a little care. He was still wearing his School uniform which was stained by Asher's blood, his fingers started to tremble again. His eyes bawled out in sadness with the continuous tears caressing his cheeks.

He couldn't think straight anymore.

William was catching every breath he was making, he almost covered his mouth to muffle the sobs from his agony.

Why does that have to happen?

He was so sure that this will all lead to a happy ending. He didn't want every world to turn out like this, tragedies aren't always the best ending.

"Shit!" He cursed inside his thoughts, squinting his eyes in anger and gritting his teeth in regrets.

William couldn't help but blame himself. Maybe if he had arrived earlier, it wouldn't have happened. Maybe if he ditched all the faculty errands, this wouldn't have happened. Maybe if he just told Asher to wait for him outside the School, someone wouldn't lay a finger on him.

It was too late….

He wanted to protect the male and yet here he is, crying in the corner because Asher just got in danger. He lifted up both legs and curled up, burying his head on his knees. He cried there until no more tears came out.

Asher survived the operation.

It was a good thing, but not every good thing has a lucky charm on it. Asher became a comatose patient, the impact on his head caused it.

Even the doctors can't say when he will wake up.

William was shaken, of course. Even Asher's family were very angry, they will never forgive someone who brought this to their son.

William didn't even fail to visit him everyday, hoping that the male would regain his consciousness. But because of the medicines and machines connected to Asher, his body started to react differently wherein the hospital couldn't no longer give him the best treatment.

In other words, the Dawson Family transferred Asher to an overseas hospital. Away from the country, a high and prestigious hospital only for comatose patients.

William was left alone, he can't afford to follow Asher. He didn't have enough money. It was painful for him but he needed to accept that it was for the male's sake.

William spends the rest of his student life as a busy one. After School he will drown himself working at his part time job.

Until time flew by quickly, and yes he was still stuck by the current love meter percentage.

One day after reaching the School, he was called by Nathan again to arrange some papers about another transferee student. The application said that he was a returning one, due to some hospitalization history he didn't manage to catch up with his lessons.

William already sensed something in it, it became more convincing when he reviewed the photo on his application.

It was Asher Dawson.

But the thing that shocked him was the male's condition, he was experiencing an aftershock amnesia where he can't even remember a single thing about himself.

Even William…

Asher's condition made them turn to complete strangers, bumping each other's eyes at the hallway everyday. William was very downhearted, the guilt was still inside him. He had decided to stay away from Asher's life for the meantime.

If he is going to approach him again, he must be strong, he must be able to defend Asher to anyone.

He doesn't want to be weak anymore.
