Chapter 267 - World 10.5
THUD! THUD!
The loud thud from the door slowly became louder and faster. The raindrops are noisy, but the thuds are louder. The three of them didn't move for a while, they were feeling the atmosphere.
"Did any of you invite someone?" Qi Zhou asked, glancing at the two, who immediately shook their heads.
It was impossible indeed for them to have a visitor; they were new to this town and they haven't even met it's town people. Finally, Sun Wei took the initiative to trudged towards and opened the door very wide.
A lightning strike in the sky followed by a loud thunder caused the person standing at the door to scream and hugged Sun Wei's legs. The two males also approached him to see what the commotion was.
The three of them lowered their heads and in their surprise, their eyes widened upon seeing a young lady crying, soaked in rain. She was hugging Sun Wei's legs and her eyes were sore, like she was crying for a long period.
Qi Zhou took off his upper robe and wrapped it around the girl's shoulders. He also helped her to stand up. "What's wrong, young lady?" His voice wasn't gentle, but you can sense that her situation intrigued him.
The lady grabbed Qi Zhou's shoulders. "Please help us!" she exclaimed with her pitiful and pleading eyes. "I have heard that a healer came to this town to cure sick people for free. I don't have any gold in me but you can use me in exchange!" just after saying those words, the lady caressed her clothes, revealing her shoulders to the men.
When her chest was about to be exposed, Xianyu stopped her. "W-Wait a minute!" he protested. "What are you doing, young lady?" he said, with a confused look on his face.
Sun Wei, who was now shaking himself from the young lady's hugging his legs scenario a while ago, snorted. "How impudent! Your chest isn't even big!" he rolled his eyes. Qi Zhou immediately replied to him, "You really talk like sh*t,"
It made the young lady glance at him. Then she rolled up her clothes back. "Forgive me," she mumbled. Her expression turned more gloomy and mournful.
The three of them headed inside after closing the door. They all sat on the long wooden chair. Xianyu prepared some hot tea to relieve the lady's shivering body. "Can you please state to us what happened," he said, pushing the cup towards her.
The lady cupped the clay container with both of her palms. "My grandfather is very sick." she lowered her head. "The town healers also looked at him and even them, couldn't point out my grandfather's illness." She explained.
Qi Zhou crossed his arms and twitched his brows. "What do you mean they couldn't point out?" He sat across the table and faced the lady. "Can you explain everything to us?" he asked.
The lady fell silent, then her fingers holding the cup started to tremble. It caused the hot tea to jiggle and spill on her hands; she jolted. "S-Sorry! S-Sorry!" she blurted out.
Sun Wei didn't even move. He found it suspicious while Qi Zhou remained in his seat. Since no one from the two wanted to assist the lady, Xianyu held her hand and wiped it. "Be careful," he said, blowing the reddened part that got burned. He tapped it, then a crimson light glowed above and in an instant, the lady's hand got heal.
It startled Xianyu; he let go of the lady and sprang up. The guy was speechless; he wasn't expecting it. He looked at his necklace and found it glowing. Xianyu realized that just like Rouhan told him, the thing on his neck really helps him.
To save his dazing thoughts, Sun Wei clicked his tongue continuously. "As you can see, we have the greatest healer here, Lan Xianyu…" he tapped the male's shoulders. "If you want your grandfather to be healed, cooperate with us." Sun Wei stepped forward and leaned closer to the lady. "Unless you're hiding something from us," he said in a calm tone, but emphasizing every word.
The lady flinched from fear that caused her to stumble from her seat and fell on the creaky floor. "No, No No!! You've got it all wrong!!!" she exclaimed, waving her hands in the air with fear in her eyes. "I don't have any bad intentions! Please don't think of me that way!!" she pleaded.
This time, it was Qi Zhou who scanned her from head to toe. "We don't waste time on sh*t things." he snorted. "So if you say nothing, the door is wide open."
Sun Wei whispered to him, "But the door was closed because it was raining outside. Are you an idiot?" a chuckle followed it. "Don't bullsh*t me!" Qi Zhou replied.
The lady exchanged her gaze with the two, then she pushed herself. "Young men, I'm scared that if I told you about my grandfather's condition, it might cost your life!." she said. She used her high-pitched voice to let them understand what she wanted to say.
The three looked at each other then to the lady who was still crouching on the floor. "What do you mean?" Xianyu asked.
The lady lowered her head and looked at the wooden floor. "B-B-Because…" She clenched the hem of her dress. "Because when someone finds out about my grandfather's condition, they disappear the next day." She explained.
Sun Wei rolled his eyes. "Even the town healers?" followed by a humped sound.
The lady nodded. "Yes! They all disappeared." a tear fell from her eyes. "No one knows where they went or what happened," she added, cracking her voice. Xianyu once again helped her to stand. "Please calm down first," he said.
All of them went back to the table to discuss their plan, and they decided to pay this lady's grandfather a visit. They were intrigued by the life threatening warning from her.
After calming the lady, the sky calmed down as well. Sun Wei was left there talking to her while Xianyu opened the door and Qi Zhou followed behind him. The male sat down and watched the moon shining brightly with the starry sky.
Xianyu leaned his elbow on his knees, then cupped his cheeks. He was in deep thought.
"What's wrong?"
Qi Zhou broke his silence and sat on the other side. "You have something in mind?" he asked.
"It's strange," he answered. Xianyu didn't wait for Qi Zhou to ask him why. He moved closer to the male and whispered something. "If they all disappeared, and no one knew where they went or what happened…" he looked around, making sure that the lady wasn't looking. "How could she say that it might cost our lives?,"
The loud thud from the door slowly became louder and faster. The raindrops are noisy, but the thuds are louder. The three of them didn't move for a while, they were feeling the atmosphere.
