Chapter 287 - World 10.25

"I'm so tired!" Xianyu wiped the sweat dripping from his forehead. The Palace was indeed so big that it had different buildings and chambers. He was lucky that he didn't bump into the emperor or any royal guards.

He found this one place that suits his eyes well. There are tall thin bamboos beside the pathway, sprouting new stems. Above were the singing birds. Not only that, there are also flowers near the bushes with the butterflies hovering around it.

"This must be the Palace Garden," he mumbled to himself as he guessed the place.

As he discovered the area, he had this one spot that caught his attention. Xianyu rushed to the green and newly bloomed plants. It was medicinal herbs.

His eyes beamed in delight as he scanned the different shapes and textures of it. "These herbs are very rare," he said, containing his excitement. As a healer, it was indeed enticing to his eyes.

He has decided to stay in this place for the meantime since the palace guards are still roaming outside. The Garden was big and enclosed by thin plant walls so he could use it as his hideout. Besides, he was now tired and he couldn't feel his legs anymore because of running around.

Xianyu didn't even realize that he had fallen asleep under the magnolia tree.

When he woke up, the first thing he saw was the pinkish colors swaying right in front of his eyes. How long has he been asleep? He didn't even know what time it was. The blooming flowers from the magnolia tree dance gracefully when the wind flutters its stems. The sweet and balmy scent invaded Xianyu's nostrils. It's relaxing.

Since he already rested and gained a little strength, Xianyu sat up. He stretched his arms in the air and made a big yawn, that's when his stomach growled in hunger. He curled back and hugged himself. "Now I'm hungry," he complained.

Xianyu walked and explored the area more until his legs brought him to a small bridge above the mini pond. It was painted white with beautiful carvings. He looked down and was amazed by the clear water, the rocks almost showing itself underneath.

"Oh! A fish!" Xianyu blurted out when his eyes caught the medium size fish swimming in the water. He leaned his elbows on the ledge and enjoyed the view from below.

Xianyu sighed, "A fish... huh" he mumbled to himself when a newly fried fish suddenly popped into his imagination as he rubbed his stomach. "Should I just go back?" he thought when he remembered what the beautiful lady told him. She said that the Prince ordered them to take care of him with utmost gentleness. "Will they feed me if I go back? But I already escaped from them. Will they put me back in prison?" Xianyu grabbed his hair. "Gahh! I don't know anymore! I'm hungry!" he snorted.

"Are you really that hungry?"

Xianyu frowned, still looking at the fishes. "Of course I am! I've been running for almost half a day!" he sneered.

"Then, do you want an apple?" A hand extended towards his side with an apple. "Take it,"

Xianyu saw the apple and didn't hesitate to take a bite. He munched it as the juices from it almost slipped from the corner of his lips. It was so sweet that he could feel it dancing inside his mouth.

A light chuckle was heard. "You like apples? Is it sweet?"

Xianyu stopped halfway. "It's very sweet." he took a small bite and chewed it. "You are very kind, thank you for bringing me this ki---" He paused, slowly realizing everything. He gulped the apple inside his mouth and slowly turned his head.

A handsome guy was smiling at him with his hands behind. He had smooth long hair tied in a high bun. He was wearing a very fine blue hanfu with a flowery design on the edges. Xianyu averted his gaze and cracked like a hard rock. "The f*ck," he mumbled.

He took a step backward and was about to run. Unfortunately, his sleeves were caught by the stem of the small plant beside the bridge. Xianyu pulled himself forcedly that it made him lose his balance and stumble down.

Before his face hit the ground, he felt something wrap around his waist that lifted him. "Be careful. I don't want you to damage your pretty face," the voice said.

This time, Xianyu recognized that mellow and sweet voice. He wasn't ready at all but the human being holding him already spun him around and right now they are seeing each other face to face. "Peek-a-boo!," the handsome man said.

Xianyu broke away. He averted his head because he could clearly feel his face turning hot. "D-Don't come c-closer!" he stammered.

"Heh?" The other guy showed a mischievous smirk. "Is that how you're going to treat the one who feeds you?" he asked.

Xianyu then remembered the apple he just ate. "It's not what you think it is!" he blurted out as he was defending himself. "It's because you are too close," he mumbled.

The man in front of him made a puzzled face, then he giggled. "You are very funny," he commented. The truth is, he was amused by Xianyu's reaction. He saw his face and ears turn red in an instant when they made eye contact. "But if I didn't catch you, you'll fall by hitting your face,"

Since Xianyu remained silent, he stepped closer to him and because he was leaning on the bridge's ledge; he cornered him. "I want to see that expression on your face again," he smiled.

"He's too close. Is he teasing me or something?" Xianyu mumbled inside his thoughts. His mind got occupied, and he accidentally remembered Yuan teasing him like this.

Xianyu pushed the male and parted away from him. "What do you want from me?!" he exclaimed, glaring eyes.

"Do you trust me?" The male asked, his expression remaining calm. Those glaring eyes from Xianyu didn't even provoke him.

"And why would I trust you?"

"Hmmm," The male flashes a half smirk, "Because I am the eye patch man."
