"You need to pass that border to cross Yumeng Village"

Sun Wei squinted his eyes and traced the index finger of the old man. He saw a big and thick wall gates guarded by armed men. In the middle was a small gate watched by five guards, they are the ones inspecting the people before letting them in.

"Yumeng Village is very strict. You need a royal invitation or a golden token as a pass," the old man once again said. "What business do you have there, young man?" he asked. 

Before Sun Wei could answer, Qi Zhou appeared behind him and smiled at the old man, "We have a very important business there, thank you for showing us the direction," Although unsatisfied with his immediate answer, the old man quickly dashed away when he handed him 10 gold coins.

Qi Zhou and Sun Wei went back to the crowded people. They take turns towards the narrow alley. There is another man waiting for them, waving his hand. "So, what did you find out?" Yuan asked. 

Sun Wei frowned as he remembered the answer he got. "We need a royal invitation or a golden token to get there," he replied.

Qi Zhou clicked his tongue, "That's the problem, we don't have any." he lowered his head and brushed his face.

"Let's just kill the guards and inv---ow!!" A handful smack landed on Sun Wei's head as he didn't continue his suggestions anymore. He glared at Qi Zhou, who gave that. "You!"

"Stop planning like a shithead," the other man only replied.

The three remained silent. Each one was thinking of a plan to do. Why are they there? It's very simple. They took one of those people involved in beating the eyepatch man. That guy told them that they were all just alibis. They literally did that to catch their attention that night. And since they squeezed more information from him, he told them that they just met that eyepatch man when they were all traveling to Yumeng Village.

Cunning man with a distinct style of plans, well managed and smooth. That man wasn't an ordinary enemy. Also, they got a feeling that this eyepatch man knew about Xianyu's identity. It's mysterious. 

In the middle of their silence, a man with a royal invitation in his hand stopped near the alley. He was with a young maiden dressed in a light pink hanfu. Beside the alley was a store. The old man bragged about his daughter there. He said that his daughter was going to be one of the palace court ladies.

Sun Wei, Qi Zhou and Yuan turned their heads and looked at each other like they're struck with the same idea. They nodded their heads as they agreed with each other.

After a minute, they are now inside the Inn.

"So, who will wear that?" All of their eyes went down to the pink hanfu with flowery design. One of them must pretend to be one of those maidens who will take the ceremony as a candidate to be a court lady. 

Sun Wei rolled his eyes, "I will never wear that!" he snorted.

Qi Zhou glanced at the two. "My body build isn't good for that, so I don't think it will fit me," he reasoned out.

That's when the two men slowly spun their gazes to Yuan and scanned him from head to toe. He felt the shivers from their eyes as he chuckled nervously. "I'm dead," he mumbled to himself.

"What is your business in entering the royal village?" 

One of the burly men stood with his chest high as he faced the two men with a young maiden. He observed the three and waited for their answer.

Yuan, who was pretending to be the young maiden, blinked his eyes and averted his gaze. He opened the fan he was holding and covered half of his face. 

Meanwhile, Sun Wei took out the royal invitation he secretly snatched from the old man a while ago. 'I feel sorry for his daughter,' he mumbled to himself as he showed it to the burly guard. "We are here to accompany our younger sister. She will attend the royal ceremony and will pledge there as one of the court ladies," he said.

The burly guard looked once more at Yuan as a lady. He saw his eyes dilated in embarrassment when their eyes met. 'Such a beautiful maiden' the guard complimented him in his thoughts. He cleared his throat. "You may pass!" he announced. 

Sun Wei and Qi Zhou nodded their heads to show their gratitude as they watched the tall and iron gate slowly open.

They are now inside the Yumeng Village. The territory of the royals and emperor. The two continued to walk by Yuan's side. Since the people here are more crowded, and they are still adjusting to their paces, the good thing to do is to find a place to begin the next plan. 

This Village was lively and indeed wealthy. The people here are well dressed and well mannered. Each noble bowed to one another to show their respects.

"Mian Mian!!!"

A light and soft grasp pulled Yuan from his stance. When he traced the hand that was pulling him, he saw a beautiful lady with a bright smile. "You are too slow. The ceremony will start in a minute," she said.

Yuan was dumbfounded. He was now far from the two, and this was not a part of the plan. He couldn't refuse because he came here as a candidate. 

When they stopped, a familiar place greeted his eyes.

"You are spacing out, are you nervous?" The beautiful lady asked him as she brushed his back. "Don't worry, we will now get the chance to see the prince every day," she said, with a red taint on her cheeks. 

Yuan tried to smile back. He nodded back. 'This lady must be one of those girls who liked him,' he mumbled inside his mind.

When Yuan thought those words, a familiar face he didn't want to see showed up inside his head. He tried to hide his expression by opening the fan once again to cover his face. Under that flowery thing, he whispered. "I don't want to go back here,"
