Chapter 292 - World 10.30

"Help me bring back my brother,"

Xianyu heard it right and clear. He gulped the saliva inside his throat and widened his eyes. "Did I hear it right?!" he exclaimed. Still couldn't believe the words from the Prince.

Yi-Lin let him go, then he averted his gaze, "I'm not joking around," he lowered his head and the expression on his eyes changed. "I captured you because I need your help," He said with a gloomy face.

Xianyu saw the expression on the Prince's face. He saw how his eyes dilated in sadness, which made him look pitiful. He tried to make a calm face and gazed at the Prince. "I'm sorry," he mumbled.

But since he was astonished right now, he still needs an explanation. He faced the Prince and then he tried to ask questions. "First, can you please explain everything to me so that I can understand your situation," he said.

Yi-Lin told the story.

There was once a treasure under the deep, deep red river. They said that once you own it, you will also own the world because of its power. The red orb has a strong and unexplainable energy that no one can ever defeat.

In the wealthy village of Yumeng, the Bai Kingdom had two grand princes. One of them succeeded in taking the red orb from the depths of the water. It was Prince Yinzhao. This Prince was the righteous and most diligent. He spends his everyday life helping the poor people of his village. He was good and excelled at everything. People sometimes called him the 'Light Prince' because he was giving hope to them. Prince Yinzhao was also teaching the street children every morning after his ceremony.

Of course, this Prince is also lucky in love. He married the empress of another wealthy kingdom after taking the throne as the new emperor. They were blessed with a son, but his wife's pregnancy became difficult. His wife got sick and that illness couldn't be identified. It almost put the baby's life in danger. The empress began to weaken, affecting her physical condition.

Desperate and restless, Prince Yinzhao used the power of the red orb. He let his wife absorb the energy from it to save both of them, but he failed. After giving birth, his wife died, followed by his only son.

"So both the empress and the baby died, then what happened to the emperor?" Xianyu asked. He was now full of confused thoughts.

"I'm not yet finished," Yi-Lin replied. He took the lamp from the table and walked towards the window. "Do you know what happened after a couple of minutes?" he asked with a cunning smile.

"What do you mean?"

"The emperor heard a faint cry from the room...the baby was alive," his lips straightened "But he has one red eye," a bitter smile drawn onto Yi-Lin's cheeks. "And no heartbeat," he mumbled.

That statement made Xianyu jolted as he felt the shivers run down his spine, "N-No heartbeat?!" he exclaimed. "He's alive but no heartbeat??!!"

Silence fell between them.

Xianyu tried to understand and gather all the ideas from that story. The baby had red eyes and no heartbeat, but he was alive. So it means that the baby was the one who absorbed all the powers from the red orb. Is it possible? To live without a heartbeat? Who is this baby? Is he Yi-Lin's brother?

"How did you two became brothers? Is he the son of the emperor and the empress you're talking about?"

Yi-Lin was hesitant to answer at first, but if he didn't reply no, he needed Xianyu, so he had no choice. "I was the second emperor's son, Prince Yinzhao's brother," he uttered. "We are not literally brothers but we treat each other as one, we grew up together." His voice turned calm once again, like he was muttering a spell to bloom some flowers. "I wanted to protect him, but I couldn't. They banished him from the royal family. He killed many people." Yi-Lin felt the sting once again as he clenched his chest. "He's like a demon," he uttered.

For the first time, Xianyu saw the Prince's lonely eyes as it dilated with the fire he was holding. It swayed the emotions to him that made his heart a bit heavy. "C-Can I...I want to know his name," he asked, lowering his head.

'He must be very important to Prince Yi-Lin' He thought as cupped his chin with his three fingers while deeply thinking. "How can I help you though?" he didn't know that he'd just blurted that out without thinking.

Yi-Lin heard him, so he faced the male. "Don't tell me, you forgot him too?!" He asked with his confused look.

Xianyu scratched the back of his hair. "Well," he averted his gaze and chuckles. "Y-You know I've been in a very...very deep sleep~ you know," he chuckled again

It made Yi-Lin slap his own forehead in dismay. "You're hopeless," he mumbled. "How could you forget his name when he's longing for you for a very long time," he said

The other male felt guilty. "I'm sorry for that," he replied, fidgeting his fingers.

"Do you know the reason why I disguise myself as the eyepatch man and capture you?"

Xianyu snapped his strings after hearing the 'eyepatch man'. He remembered his true intention, the red and blue pill. He wanted to know and investigate everything about it, but this Prince drew him away. 'Wait a goddamn minute, I'm here to investigate, right? Why am I helping him all of a sudden?' He massaged his temples when he reached his conclusions.

"It seems like you are tired," Yi-Lin blow the fire from the lamp and puts it down on the table. The room now was dim. Only the open window penetrating the moon was giving it a glimpse of light, enough for them to not feel blinded. "Let's rest for tonight. We'll talk about this tomorrow," he trudged towards the door and slide it open.

When the door was halfway open, Xianyu yelled. "Wait!"

Yi-Lin turned back to him. "What?" he asked, puzzled.

Xianyu met the Prince's eyes, he clenched his fist. "What's his name?, I want to know his name," his voice got smaller, "At least."

"Heh~" Yi-Lin stepped out. "Bai Yuan," then he walked away.
