Transmigrated Into The Book

"Red really suits you, brother!" 

Yi Lin pushed himself and opened the fitting chamber, he circled around Yuan like inspecting every bit of him. He inserted himself into the edges of the mirror with Yuan. He tilted his head after seeing their height difference. "You grew taller!" he exclaimed.

Yuan tucked his belt around his waist and brushed his red robe. He pushed Yi Lin away, "Stop pestering me," he snorted.

Yi Lin almost stumbled down but quickly pulled himself up. "You are so cold! You meany brother," he released a humped sound. He smiled secretly because Yuan wore the robe he chose. 

When they were kids, Yi Lin was always forcing Yuan to wear red clothes and red ornaments. Because he had skin white as snow, Yi Lin thought that the red color would suit him very well. Besides, he wanted to pair it with Yuan's red eye. He felt a little flattery after knowing that his cousin brother still likes to wear red these days.

"Why are you smiling there?" Yuan glared at him for a second before looking away.

Yi Lin grinned, "I couldn't help it! My cousin brother and I are going to bring his lover back," he rubbed his palms and chuckled mischievously.

"Who told you to come with me?!"

"Ehhh?!!!" Yi Lin protested. "But I want to be there too!" he said, with his beaming eyes twirling around Yuan. "I want to come too!" 

Tired of his pushy and childish attitude, Yuan grabbed Yi Lin by the collar and slammed him down on the table. "Stop acting like we are still close to each other," he gripped him. "You disgust me," he sneered, full of hatred in his eyes. 

Yi Lin didn't speak until Yuan let him go. He just watched the male turn back beside the door to put on his shoes, but when Yuan was about to walk out, a forceful lighting pushed the door. It threw him in the air with his back hitting the wall.

That chaos caused the servants to become frightened and yell in fear. Because the door broke with the walls, Yi Lin's chamber is now in a complete mess. That sudden impact made a thick smoke around the surroundings while the lighting from earlier was still crackling behind the shadows. 

"YOU DARE STEP IN THE ROYAL PALACE!!!!"

Yi Lin immediately recognized that voice. Since he was also thrown from that powerful impact earlier, he still managed to protect himself. He was not mistaken. Behind that thick smoke was the emperor, his father, Huanxue.

The guards entered the room and surrounded Yuan, who was now lifting himself after hitting the wall. 

"ARREST HIM, HE DESERVES DEATH!" Huanxue was raging in anger and his eyes were almost bawling out. He quickly pointed out his sword towards the figure he hated the most. But when he was about to unleash and swayed his weapon, a purple light accelerated and threw his sword away. 

"Don't touch him!!" Everybody turned their heads to the one speaking. Yi Lin glared at them with his sharp eyes. "Don't touch my brother!" this time, his calm and soft features vanishes away. His face was like an angry dragon protecting its nest. 

Huanxue was taken aback by his son's actions. He lifted his hands, and within a second, his sword flew back into his grip. "What is the meaning of this?! Are you siding with him?!! Yi Lin, the crowned prince?!" he snarled. 

Yi Lin clicked his tongue. "Stop calling me that, father!!" he replied back, grunting. "I don't even like the throne!" he yelled.

A strong slap landed on his face, it made his right ear buzzed inside his brain. Yi Lin rubbed his cheeks and said. "Let him go," he mumbled.

Yuan couldn't speak, he was also surprised to see Yi Lin going against his father. It was because when his father, the first emperor, Yinzhao, died. Yi Lin admitted that he knew all of Huanxue's plan but chose to stay silent because he was scared.

It engraved a deep cut in Yuan's heart after finding out that his first beloved cousin and first follower betrayed him. He hated Yi Lin because of that, but everything is turning around the tables now. 

"Do you know what you have done?!! The royals will judge and seek punishment for this!" Huanxue looked at his son with tender but stern eyes. He was clenching his fist tight, suppressing his anger.

Instead of getting scared, Yi Lin chuckled. "So what? I can accept any punishment. This is nothing compared to what you have----"

"YI LIN!! ENOUGH!!!"

After yelling, Huanxue put back his sword in its scabbard beside his waist. "You will receive the right punishment for letting that demon invade the palace. I've been trying to warn you over and over again. This is for your sake!!!" He yelled, shaking voice.

Yi Lin bit his lower lip and sternly replied. "For my sake?! Do you even know its meaning? Hear yourself out, father before pointing out my mistake!!" He stepped forward and stood in front of Yuan, hiding the male behind his back. "Don't ever try to call him a demon! My cousin Prince is not a demon!!" he snarled.

Yuan jolted, his eyes widened. Those words struck his system, delivering him to a calm state where he saw illusions of their young days. Yi Lin was always standing by his side, no matter what happened. Even if the other kids were comparing them to each other, he never felt any envy from Yi Lin. 

He was still a pure and cocky kid back then.

Yi Lin pushed Yuan and whispered. "Go now and leave this to me," he smiled. "Don't hear them out, you are not a demon, you are my cousin prince.."

A warm embrace seized Yi Lin's body. Yuan whispered to him. "Thank you, Yi Lin" 

Before everyone and everything turned awkward, Yi Lin smacked the male's back. "Geez! Now you are turning soft for me all of a sudden, whatever! Go away now...Shoo!!" he waved his hands like he was shoving a bird. 

The atmosphere turned light, but not when Yi Lin spun his eyes back to his father. "Don't ever barge in my place without my consent," he said bluntly.
