Transmigrated Into The Book

"We don't need to hide anymore!" Xianyu blurted out. 

Everyone was stunned by his announcement and was also taken aback when Yi Lin second the motion. "Don't worry, we will not hide,"

Rouhan, Sun Wei and  Qi Zhou turned their gazes from Xianyu to Yi Lin, speechless. 

The prince toured his right hand inside his sleeves and took out something. It was a paper scroll, he walked onto the table and asked everyone to gather. 

The prince untucked the string around the scroll and exposed the content to them. "According to my informant, the emperor plans this together with the commander general." Yi Lin stated, slamming his hand on the middle of the paper scroll. "This is the information about the general commander," 

Sun Wei knitted his brows and observed the face beside the writing on the scroll. The face of the man imprinted on it had a stern expression on his face. Although there are wrinkles on his forehead, his sharp eyebrows and jawline are defining how strong he was in his youth. 

Qi Zhou remained silent beside the table. After seeing the face, he unconsciously gazed at Xianyu. He shakes his head, 'No, I'm just overthinking something' he thought.

"I want you all to remember this face in case you encounter him accidentally. Commander General is a hot-tempered guy, he will kill anyone who will try to stop him." Yi Lin warned. He wanted at least everyone to be aware of this dangerous person.

This secluded face is not safe in the first place. He indeed chose the mountain far away from the Bai Kingdom and used his Qi just to let them travel here. But they were still not sure if the emperor would not discover or find this place. 

Suddenly, Hawk knocked from the outside. They heard a whisper, "Your highness, our time is running out, we need to hurry," his voice has a worried tone. 

Since they just sneak out, they needed to hurry or else the emperor would notice their sudden disappearance from the Bai Kingdom. 

Yi Lin turned around, with his sleeves fluttering. He halted towards the door, but before stepping out. "I don't have much time guys, I will come back when I settle things" he whispered and slid the door.

Hawk bowed at him and led him to the spot behind a tree where they put their talismans, forming a teleportation array. The two figures vanished into thin air as they passed by the circle light.

Not even noticing the black shadow emerged before them.

Since the night was calm and the moon was shining bright from the sky, Xianyu decided to stroll around the mountain. Their location in the middle of the mountain was secured by Yi Lin's barrier so it's okay. 

The dry leaves crackled under Xianyu's foot as he halted deeper to the forest. His gaze rose up, feeling the cold air caressing his skin. His eyes meet the thick and newly blooming stems and leaves of the skyscraper trees. 

The cricket sounds mixed with the fluttering air around him. As he strode the place more, he reached the edge of the mountain. There, Xianyu discovered a wonderful view, the portrait of the Villages together with the night lights.

Astounded, Xianyu stepped forward, leaning his palm on the nearest tree. He looked down and saw the portrait of the dazzling villages. 

Before he could even notice, a tall figure hovered behind him. Xianyu was about to jump when he felt something warm around his shoulders. He became more wary when he felt a soft and hot breath tickling his neck.

Yuan embraced him from behind, resting his head on the male's shoulders. "What are you doing on this cold night?" his voice almost reached Xianyu's spine.

Xianyu's ears turned red, though he knew that Yuan already saw it, he felt assured, because the male is behind him. He gulped, "I feel bored," he muttered.

To his surprise, Yuan took his hand and pushed him away, then he spun Xianyu like they were dancing under the moonlight, pulling the male back to his embrace.

Xianyu almost buried his head on the male's chest. He was stunned, speechless. He pressed his ears more and listened to the male's heartbeat. His eyes widened, for the very first time in this world, he heard Yuan's heartbeat. 

Xianyu looked up, "Yuan?" he called out.

Yuan smiled at him, "Do you hear my heartbeat, Xianyu?" He lifted the male's hand and put it on his chest. "Feel it," he whispered.

Xianyu again blushed, he lowered his head and felt the warmth from Yuan's hand attached to his hand, both pressed on the chest.

"But, I thought...you don't have a heartbeat?!" Xianyu exclaimed, startled.

The thin clouds passed by the moon, covering it with their shadows. Their stance dimmed, it made them silent for a second until the moon peek again. 

"What happened?" 

Yuan smiled, "I am turning into a human," he uttered.

Dumbfounded, Xianyu frowned. "But you are a human, Yuan?" he asked in confusion.

"You are wrong," Yuan's expression became pitiful, "I am the demon prince, because my father saved me by letting my mother take the power of the red orb, my heart was corrupted," he said. This time, he placed Xianyu's palm onto his right cheeks.

Xianyu let him be, he caressed the male's face. Sorrow and grief pierced his heart as the sudden flashbacks from Yuan's past crossed his mind. He felt the pain and the agony, Yuan must be suffering for too long.

Yi Lin's declaration earlier also bang his thoughts. He wanted to protect him and keep him safe. 

"I don't care if you are a demon or some monsters out there!" Xianyu cupped the male's cheeks. "I want to protect you from this timeline!" He was also surprised by his words, but right now is not the time to overthink.

He thought that maybe this is his reason. To go back and save Yuan from the past. If he didn't do it then, he will do it now.
