Chapter 347 - World 11.4

"Haah~! Haah~!"

"Can you still handle it?"

"I-I-I'm trying...It's so h-hard,"

Kai took Yang's hand and put it on his shoulders, "It's only normal to feel something pricking your legs after numbness for a long time," He smiled. "Let's take another two steps,"

Again, Yang held his breath and started to lift his right foot slowly, after doing it, he put it down on the grassland. Every nerve in his legs is cramping up and it's making his feet more heavy. He tightened his grasp on Kai's arms since the man was supporting him.

"You did it, Yang," he complimented after witnessing the male's third step.

After hearing that, Yang slowly fell down. Gasping his breaths, he mumbled. "I can't do this anymore! It's so hard to walk!" if he can stamp his feet, he will do it because of annoyance.

"Do you want to drink water?" Kai dropped down beside him and asked. He turned his head to the sky that was above the horizon far away from them. The warm noon sun rays penetrated the small spaces between the leaves of the tree above them.

"I like it here," Yang mumbled. Unconsciously, he laid down and spread his arms. "I like it here," he closed his eyes, "It all felt so real,"

Kai shot a glance at him, "Felt so real?" he asked with a puzzled face.

The other male didn't answer him. Suddenly, a small light leaf slowly fell on Yang's cheeks. He didn't move. Kai saw it and his hands unconsciously moved on its own towards the male. Lifting the small leaf from the male's nose.

When Yang opened his eyes, they were both stunned by the sudden closure.

"W-W-What?"

Kai blew his nose, "There's a small leaf on your nose," he replied.

Yang sat up and tried to brush his nose in panic. "Where?! Where?! Where?!"" he stammered.

"It's already gone, I removed it," Kai smiled at him again. "Do you want to stroll around the garden?" He stood up to get Yang's wheelchair back. "Sitting on the grasses for too long can hurt your pelvic,"

"No, I-I'm f-fin...eehhh??!!!" Kai lifted him up again back to his wheelchair. "I told you! You don't need to carry me all the time!" He snorted.

Kai giggled, "And how many times do I have to tell you that it's okay? You don't need to feel shy about it," he said.

Yang didn't talk back anymore, he just pouted his lips secretly. He let Kai push his wheelchair forward.

The two strided the stone pathway. The bushes beside them gave them a warm ambiance. The Hospital garden was indeed wide and green. After the long lines of bushes, there are also flowering plants in a pot. The walls are designed with vines, soft and hard.

In the middle of it, there is a round fountain with a statue in the middle. The water on it was crystal blue and fragrant.

"I didn't know that there's a fountain here," Yang said, unaware. Letting his eyes roam around the new place.

"Hospitals need gardens to calm the patients, it's so stressful to look at your sickness everyday so this is helpful therapy," Kai replied to him.

They stopped under the big magnolia tree, blooming it's peach petals while the sky was nearing afternoon, turning it to dandelions. Kai put Yang's wheelchair beside the bench he was sitting on.

"This is a very beautiful view,"

"Do you like it?" Kai also let his eyes be mesmerized by the beautiful scenery happening in front of them.

"If I know how to paint, I will totally pa--" Yang paused, bit his lower lip, feeling like he was remembering something. "Paint?" he asked.

"Paint?" Kai repeated his question. "Do you want to paint it?"

Yang quickly shrugged his head and mumbled, "Nevermind, Nevermind," he said. "I don't know how to paint either, so nevermind," he said.

'I know how to paint,"

Yang widened his eyes, "Really?!" he exclaimed. Kai nodded at him and said that if he was all well, they would paint together.

Well, Yang's life isn't all about the hospital anyway. He recovers fast and the days also pass by. After another month of staying and taking the therapy, he was now discharged. But the only thing that made him a little sad was Kai wasn't around when he left.

***

The sun shone brightly on his face, his sunglasses reflected a dark and dim light from above. It's because he took the car window down for a while. One of his subordinates opened the door for him and before he could step out, an umbrella was already ready to cover him.

He stepped out of his car and pulled his necktie to loosen his neck, feeling like he was about to choke. He flicked his hands and looked at his wrist watch, "What's the appointment for today?" he asked, striding the way towards the building.

Although he was always that intimidating, his secretary didn't feel any shivers anymore. It was like he was at the lion's den everyday. He cleared his throat, "You have another meeting for the approval of the newly written novels in the morning, sir," he flipped the pages on his tablet. "And also another meeting after lunch, for the signing for the-" he paused, not sure if he was going to tell it to his boss.

The elevator opened, they entered inside and since his secretary turned silent, he scowled. "What's the matter?"

"N-Nothing sir!" His secretary was almost startled. He again cleared his throat and said, "You have another meeting with this person named Chen Yang" even though he was surprised.

"Who the hell is that thing?" His boss replied. And yes, 'a thing' for him. If it's not important, it's not a person for him.

Unknown name and unknown person, having a special appointment with his boss. Who would have the rights to do such a thing? When his secretary looked down on the very last page, his eyes widened more, "He was recommended by the president?" His secretary had doubts on his tone.

"Tch," the boss twitched his lips on the side. "That old geezer never stops from pestering me," he mumbled.

His secretary elated after seeing the annoyance on his boss' face. "What do you want me to do to him sir? Should I cancel h--"

"No, let it be,if your old man gave you a toy, you need to play with it to satisfy him,hmm.."

The elevator opens…

As they reached the 10th floor of the building, everyone in the lobby and in the hallways bowed their heads when they saw even his shadows far away. He was like a prince holding his crimson sword and ready to pierce whoever ignored him.

The employees are doing it every morning, they will never lift their heads until their boss reaches his own office.

And as usual, there are two guards waiting for him in front of his office to open the doors. "Good morning boss," they greeted him.

He didn't greet them back. With his hands in his pockets, he halted inside. He stopped and roamed his eyes. Checking the curtains, shelves, desk, and his coffee table. One of his assistants removed his coat and hung it on the hanging rack beside the cabinet. He walked forward as his secretary pulled his swivel chair for him.

When he was fully seated on his desk, all of his employees inside lined up and bowed their heads. "Good morning! Mr. CEO!" They greeted him.

That morning greeting made him a little evil. Feeling so high and mighty, he grinned watching his name carved on the front of the desk. "Do your jobs, I hate useless people," everyone nodded their heads and did what they needed to do.

Another assistant came rushing to him, "Mr. CEO, This is your cup of coffee for the morning," she placed the cup very carefully on the desk. She was very careful, it was just her 4th day of working in the company and today was her duty to make the CEO's coffee.

He watched the thin smoke from his coffee dissipate in the air. He loves to drink coffee in the morning, it calms his mind so if the coffee was horrible, this assistant's life will be over.

He lifted the cup and twirled the liquid inside, smelling it before taking a sip. After tasting the coffee, he slammed back the cup on the desk.

Everyone was startled when the cup broke, but no one dared to eavesdrop because of fear. His secretary dashed towards them. "Boss, What's wrong?" He quickly handed a handkerchief to the man who's now with his bleeding hands.

The CEO gazed at the female assistant who served him his coffee. "How many fingers do you have?" His voice was cold and sharp and his eyes were piercing her.

The woman trembled, "I-I have ten f-fingers, Mr. CEO!" She bowed her head lower than her waist, "I apologize if the coffee is not to your liking, please spare me," she pleaded.

"Are your ten fingers enough to pay me back?" He was talking about his coffee. It was specially imported and delivered for him from abroad and if you didn't know how to brew, you would never get the flavor he wanted. It needed to be brewed with proper care and time, not like the normal coffees.

Before the woman could explain again, the two guards who were at the door earlier are now behind her, waiting for orders.

The CEO waved his hands,"Take her away, I don't want to see such useless people in my company,"

They bowed their heads and dragged the lady away. Losing her job.
