Transmigrated Into The Book
Chapter 353 - World 11.10
"You are still awake?"
Shi Ying slightly slid the door when she tried to peek at the small distance between the walls. She saw Yang still in front of his laptop, doing something. Shi Ying slowly trudged inside and gave her son a pat on the head. "You are working so hard, please don't let yourself drown too much at work," she said with a worried voice.
Yang tapped her hands on his shoulders and gazed at her, "Don't worry mon, I just forgot to check something earlier, I will take a rest after this" he assured the woman, who gave him a light sigh.
He just got home from the office and instead of eating dinner, he chose to do this small thing he forgot to check earlier at the office. His mother got worried after noticing the time so she headed upstairs to see him.
"Are you taking your medicines?"
Yang nodded his head, "I am taking it all, mom...please don't worry about me," he replied, still eyes on the monitor.
Since Shi Yig didn't want to disturb Yang anymore, she bid her goodnight and was about to close the door when Yang called her out.
"Did you see something like a book?" Yang asked. "Like an empty book or something?"
Hearing this, Shi Ying stiffened. The woman didn't know what to answer first because that sounds familiar to her. "What book are you talking about?"
Yang tilted his head and scratched his nape."After my accident, did you see something beside me? Or did you pick a book?" he asked.
"I don't know what you are talking about, Yang" Shi Ying replied to him.
Yang didn't protest anymore about the book. He brushed it off and told his mom to take a rest. Yang got into an accident and was comatose for almost 5 years. Those years felt like he was alive and walking somewhere. He didn't know if it was a dream or a nightmare but sometimes, he would get some sudden flashbacks from old memories.
He would sometimes see different faces talking to him in his dreams. He admits that he had some part of his memories that he still couldn't remember and retrieve, but it wasn't enough for him to know an answer.
Like when he was in the hospital, he would often ask the doctor if he was an author. His doctor will just always shrug it off since he understands Yang's condition. In his dreams, he also had the illusion of talking to his father who went missing years ago.
He had these things that he felt like he was always doing but not familiar in his own life. And besides, he had this blue circle mark on his left shoulder. Like he came from an ancient time for that different mark.
"What am I even doing to myself?"
Yang washed his face after staring at his being in front of the bathroom mirror. He was also busy observing that unknown mark on his chest. "Where did I even get this thing?"
Instead of thinking about it over and over again, he finished brushing his teeth and headed outside. He walked in the dining room and opened the refrigerator. Finding something to eat, he saw an apple pie near the upper part. He took it out and sliced for himself.
Yang also made iced coffee for himself. He sat down on the kitchen counter to eat with a phone in his other hand. He took a small bite of the apple pie and let it dance inside his mouth.
"You smell like an apples,"
Yang jolted, he spun his head with a dumbfounded face. "Who's that?" he blurted out. There was no one who replied to him. He squinted his eyes and frowned. "Am I hearing things I shouldn't have heard?" he asked himself.
He heard it right and clear like there's someone whispering straight to his ears . And if he wasn't mistaken, that voice was very familiar to him. It was like someone he knew a long time ago.
He ended up grabbing his own hair in disappointment. He must be just sleepy to hear such unimaginable things. He took a big bite from the apple pie and quickly finished his iced coffee.
He turned off the lights in the hallways and was about to turn to his room when he saw something in the right corner of the area. It was a glowing light from a familiar room. And if he was not mistaken, it was their library.
Yang tried to gather himself, he must be very sleepy to feel and see things very uncommon for his everyday life. Because of curiosity, Yang strided the hallway quietly.
The door was indeed half opened and it was glowing. He first took a peak and checked his surroundings. He thought that there was left light in the room, but who would go there in this late hour? His mother wasn't fond of reading books at night.
"Hello?"
His voice echoed back to him. He pushed the door and took two steps inside. Come to think of it, he has not visited here since he came home to their house. He got too busy with his office work.
Yang stood in the middle of the room. There he saw the old bookshelves surrounding him. Some of its color had already faded into light ones. The dust is almost visible in human's eyes. The books are still well arranged on the shelves but some got torn pages.
In the corner of the room, there was a small table near the glass window. The moonlight was penetrating a dim light to it, making its edges magical.
It caught Yang's eyes immediately. The book was like calling him. "Why is it placed there?" He mumbled to himself upon approaching the small table.
At that table, he saw a book he didn't expect to see. The book had an empty cover. It has a hard cover, colored in silver. Since it was glistening under the moonlight, Yang found it amusing.
When he was about to reach for it, his head started to feel dizzy. Yang stumbled down.
