Chapter 374 - World 11.31
"Did I go too far?"
Yang dropped himself on his bed and spread his arms widely. He released a deep sigh, fixating his eyes on the ceiling. The sun was fine today, perfect weather to stroll outside the city. Though Yang was not in the mood to do that. He yawned, then rolled on the right side. Yang took his pillow and hugged it.
"I feel sleepy," He whispered. "Maybe it's because I woke up too early," he tried to close his eyes and remained in his position. After a couple of minutes, he blinked and opened his eyes. His forehead ceased. He couldn't sleep, but his body wanted to do so.
"The heck is wrong with me?" Yang brushed his face. "Why do I feel so guilty about what happened earlier?" he mumbled to himself. Recalling the call he overheard from Guang Jin. His expression changed, then his lips turned straight. "Why are you trying to act so arrogant? You can just ask me to help you, idiot…"
Suddenly, the phone on his desk vibrated and squirmed. Yang sat up and took the call. "Hello?"
The voice on the other line took a deep breath before responding. "Mr. Chen? I'm very sorry to call you this Sunday, but can you please help me?" the voice was silvery and smooth. It took a second for Yang to recognize it. "Manager?" his eyes squinted.
Ren Jiang, on the other line, brushed his face. He was a little disappointed by the papers he was holding. He adjusted his glasses. "I'm sorry for calling you and interrupting your weekend, but the reports you submitted last Friday…" he sighed. "I couldn't find it,"
Yang jolted up from lying down. He fell silent for a while as he recalled what happened last Friday. "I forgot!" he exclaimed. He put his palm on his mouth and widened his eyes. "It's under my desk, in the drawers! The USB!" He responded.
He remembered that he already finished it last Friday, but since he forgot his medicines and collapsed. He didn't have the time to submit it to their manager for a quick review. Yang sprang from the bed and finds his slippers. "Can we meet today, manager?" he asked.
Ren Jiang felt relieved. "Yes, please..I totally need it before tomorrow." he was talking about tomorrow, it's already Monday. He doesn't want to add another work to his team. Ren Jiang wanted to fix it as soon as possible. "Do you want me to fetch you?"
Yang shakes his head while scanning something warm from his closet. Since he will just go and get the USB from their office, he will wear something casual. "Don't bother yourself, manager...I can go alone,"
Ren Jiang bent and put the phone to his left ear. "I'm here at YX Coffee shop. Do you know this place? We can meet here," he suggested, while scrolling through his laptop.
Yang recognized the name of the coffee shop. It was blocks away from their company. "I know that, manager..Please wait for me there,"

The bells above the glass door clang. A male wearing a sky blue jacket with a white shirt under and black shorts entered the coffee shop. He was carrying his own laptop hanging on his shoulders. He stopped halfway and let his eyes roam like he was looking for someone. Luckily, a man from the corner near the glass wall of the shop waved at him.
"Good day, manager," Yang greeted Ren Jiang with a smile on his face. The truth is, he was a bit shy to face the man because of the trouble. If only he realized it sooner before Sunday, he could use that excuse to ignore Guang Jin. It's a rainy Saturday though, so it's impossible.
Ren Jiang adjusted his glasses. He was wearing a dark blue polo with two buttons untucked, showing half of his collarbone. He paired it with white shorts and a sandal on his feet. "Hi, Yang..sorry for bothering you," he waved his hands to the crew to order something for Yang.
Seeing the man apologize, Yang felt guilty. "I should be the one saying sorry to you, manager" he bowed his head. "I neglected my own reports." Though he remembered that he submitted the other one to the CEO, it's still not enough to fill the other mistake.
After talking to the crew, Ren Jiang glanced back at Yang, who was now opening his laptop. "It's okay, I heard that you collapsed that day so it's understandable for me...I just don't want to add another work on you since it's Monday tomorrow," he said.
It made Yang more guilty. He lowered his head and started to type something on his laptop. "I forgot my USB at the office, manager, so I will just do another one," he said.
The crew approached their table and put the newly brewed coffee in front of Yang; the latter nodded his head and said thanks.
Ren Jiang smiled. "Then..do you want to go to the office after checking the email I sent to you?" he asked.
Yang pushed the coffee away from his laptop, and then he looked at the other male. "It's okay manager, I can just redo the reports." He said.
This time, Ren Jiang turned quiet for a while, then jolted when he remembered something. "Yang," he called out. "How can you do that? The list of novels is in the office…"
The latter then paused, finally realizing what he just blurted out. He rubbed the back of his head and smiled. "Ahh..I forgot.." he lowered his head and whispered to himself. 'I guess I really need to go to the office with him'
Ren Jiang leaned back on the soft cushion he was sitting on. His eyes turned outside the glass wall, observing the cars outside. "Don't worry about it. I brought my car," he said.
"I'm really sorry for causing trouble to you, manager.." Yang apologized after taking a sip from his coffee. Unlike Guang Jin, he had more respect for Ren Jiang.. Though he knew that it would change now, after accidentally being nosy around the CEO.
