Chapter 408 - S2 World 12.3

Chase put his hand on his chin, and then he tilted his head to the side. "What do you think?" He turned his eyes on the white dragon rolling on his bed.

Dion raised one of his ears, then he eyed his owner with question marks all over his face. He shrugged his shoulders before snuggling into the pillow. The guy stopped from walking back and forth in the room and sat beside him instead. He picked the small dragon and put it on his lap. With his scowling face, he snorted again. "Should I accept his invitation?"

Dion felt remorse and anxiousness from his master. He tapped Chase's chest using his paws and felt his heartbeat racing so fast and heavy. A white halo glowed from him, which was only visible to a dragon species like him. It took all the uneasiness from Chase's body.

Surprisingly, Chase felt light and comfortable. His mind became clear. Although he couldn't sense Dion doing something on him, he knew that it was him. He hugged the small dragon and gave him a peck. As a part of the Imperial Blood, everyone in the family will have their own guardian beside them. And Chase got Dion as his guardian.

"He's just going to talk to me, right?" He said, poking the dragon's nose. "Aight, then I guess I should give him enough time. Let's go Dion."

He finally exited his room and headed down. Beside the stairs, the three maids and 2 butlers bowed their heads as soon as his feet touched the first floor. Everything was now cleaned up. The spider webs in the corners are all gone. The glass windows are so shiny that you can even see your own reflection. The floor was fully wiped.

Everything was in order that even Chase couldn't speak a word. One of the butlers approached him. "Greetings, Young Master." he said. "I am here to aid you, do you have anything you want?"

"Where's Ian?" Chase roamed his eyes, but didn't see the knight.

The butler adjusted his rimmed glasses. "Commander Ian was roaming in the forest to check if something was wrong." A small smile stretches his face. "He's been doing it since earlier. Your safety is our utmost priority." he bowed his head.

Chase remained composed. "I see. Can you call him for me? I needed to talk to him," he said.

The butler didn't say a word after agreeing. He asked the other servants to prepare something to eat. Before leaving his Young Lord, he accompanied him to the Garden and told him to wait there.

Chase didn't protest as he followed the butler with two maids behind him. One of them pulled a chair for him.

To his surprise, the Garden was now all groom. New plants and bushes are blooming under the sunlight of the glass roof. The empty walls are now filled with green vines, pleasing in the eyes. The plain atmosphere is now lively.

They changed the plants, and everything was blooming, with the bees and butterflies hovering above it. It made Chase smile. It's refreshing.

The servant standing beside him leaned over and poured him a cup of tea. The fragrance from it traveled to his nose that made him take a sip. 'It's delicious,' he thought upon putting it back on the table.

Before he could make another compliment from that foreign taste, a shadow covered his being. Chase lifted his chin and saw a man with disheveled hair. His breaths were heavy as if he ran lapse just to see him.

Ian put his right hand on the chest and kneeled down. "Were you looking for me, Young Lord? This knight will serve you with all his heart," he said, full of sincerity.

Hearing this very well-mannered speech, Chase furrowed his brows. "How old are you?" he asked.

"I am in my 20s, Your Highness," Ian replied.

{okay, author. What's my age here?}

AUTHOR: You are 18 years old

Chase cleared his throat. Finding out that he was 18 years old made him smirk. He cleared his throat and said. "I have decided,"

Even if it's just a hint, it made Ian smile secretly. He lifted his chin and gazed at Chase with his gentle eyes. "I will respect your decision, My Lord," he mumbled.

Before Chase could drown in the knight's sly stare, he looked away. "Take the seat," he mumbled.

Ian stood up from kneeling and took the seat across the table. Chase ordered his maids to serve Ian some tea. Then he asked everyone to leave them alone.

The atmosphere then turned stiff for the meantime, but Chase broke it immediately. "I have something to ask you." he rested his chin on his clasped hands that were leaning on the table with his elbows.

Ian gazed at him, showing the loyalty in his eyes. "It is my honor to give you all the information you wanted to know," he replied.

Chase took something from his pocket and put it on the table. It was the letter he received yesterday. It's fully opened. "I already read the letter the Emperor gave me," he said.

Ian nodded his head. "I see. Is there anything you wish to know, Your Highness?"

His Young Master once again turned to his expressionless aura. He stared at the knight and pondered for a minute. "What happened to my twin brother?" he finally said.

Ian automatically turned gloomy. With his expression, Chase could see that he's still grieving. The lively atmosphere turned heavy. The knight lowered his gaze with a clenched fist under the table. "Someone," he uttered. "If only I didn't neglect my duty as the knight…" he mumbled, full of remorse.

Chase felt the sorrow in the knight's tone. Even if he didn't have the chance to meet his twin brother. From Ian's words, it seems like he's a good person.

Realizing that he's already getting carried away, Ian stopped. He loosened his fist and apologized. "Someone assassinated the Prince. We found him dead in his own room." He said.

"I see," Chase stood up. He slammed his hand on the table, "Prepare everything before the sun sets tomorrow" He turned around and his golden hair gracefully flattered with the wind. "I will go and see His Majesty, the Emperor…" he said before walking away.

"Y-Yes! Your Highness!!"
